Looking For Control Freaks & Worry Warts too (Part 2)

Mine had the VERY narrow ribbing and worked fine. I'll tell you something though. I used the June Tailor transfers - the ones for white fabric peeled off the first wash (some actually peeled off while we were still wearing them!!!), but the ones for dark fabrics? I've washed AND DRIED a couple of Ally's like 3 or 4 times and they look brand new!

Personally I don't like the look of the transfers for dark fabrics on white shirts cause they are not the same color white so you really have to trim them perfect. But they really last! I used them on red shirts and black shirts and really like the way they turned out! Also, the technique is different (at least the brands I used - June Tailor and HP) in that you don't reverse the image with the transfers for dark fabrics. So make sure you read up before you print out! Unlike me - I wasted a TON of paper and ink because I didn't pay attention.

Kara - I bought Avery transfer paper for light-colored fabrics. I'm either going to use white or lt.pink shirts. Do you think that would be ok?

Yes for white, but keep in mind that if you have white in the design, it will show up pink if it's on a pink shirt (at least that's what they advised on the Disign board).

I haven't used Avery so don't know about them. I'm going to do something fun for Ally and I in November...........

Kara! I told Mark about your skink, and he said that's what he had for a pet when he was about 10. It was horrible - snake on legs - it ate crickets, had to sit under a light, and it smelled really bad :faint: Since he refused to clean the cage every day, we gave it away when we went to WDW for 10 days. I was thankful to have him gone. They were supposed to come home with a baby iguana - I don't know what happened, but I could have killed Jim at the time!

Cammie, regarding the shirts - yes - if you use transfer paper for light shirts, anything white in your design will show up the background color of your shirt. It kind of turns see-through when you iron it. So we used the light only for the white shirts, and the dark for everything else. It was a pain because, like Kara said, you have to trim it up really well, and you have to peel the backing off before you iron it. I forgot one and that was a disaster. Luckily we could get it back off the shirt without destroying the shirt.

Jillian, Renee, Kara, Cammie - thanks for the advice about Mr. Myles. He still hasn't gone, but he seems to be feeling okay. He's napping now. Maybe when he gets up I'll try giving him the sugar or the Karo Syrup. We used to give him Karo syrup when he was a baby. Mark gave him some infant laxative, also.

We aren't as worried about appendix now. Lindsay has been queasy this am, and Mark started vomiting an hour ago - right before grad practice - its mandatory, and he literally looks dead :faint: Poor guy. I hope he makes it through - he's been known to pass out in the heat. He was famous for it after one baseball game.

Pam and Cammie - you are almost there!!!!

14 days for me!!!!

OMG!!!!! It's one thing to have a wild one outside, but who in their right mind would knowingly buy one for a pet??? Oh, yeah, crazy boy, huh? And clueless dads!!!! :rotfl2:

Yup, I did the same thing with the paper for dark fabrics. I thought I was a pro so I reversed the image, and went to iron it on and it wouldn't stick - I'm like WTH??? Then I decided to read the instructions AFTER I did it all! I'm as bad as the kids!

Oh, I really hope everyone gets to feeling better!!!! What a terrible time to be sick. Now are both Lindsay (your DIL?) and Mark (your son?) graduating from college? I swear, you win the award for Zoo house, I think! :rotfl2: Enjoy all the festivites and congrats to the grads!!!!

I pick up the girls from Summer Camp and tell them we're having "hot dogs" for dinner. Alexis informs me she doesn't eat hot dogs. WTH???? You're 7! You're supposed to like nothing BUT hot dogs and chicken nuggets!!! Well, since I've been letting my pantry and freezer go, I'm stressing trying to figure out what to make for her since I don't have her car seat and I don't feel comfortable driving without one even just to go to the store. Luckily, chicken nuggets and fries hiding in the back of the freezer. AND, that's two more bags I got cleared out of there! ;)

OK, off to entertain the girls!!!! Hope to catch y'all later for a bit!

So, am I getting this right - for transfer paper with light fabrics, you peel AFTER ironing(that's what my instructions say); for transfer paper with dark fabrics, you peel BEFORE ironing?

Cammie, yes!!!! And you reverse the design on paper for light fabrics but not paper for dark. It's weird.

I'm sooo not a smart person. I have a husband. He is a man (as long as there are no snakes around! :rotfl2: ). And what do I do? I decide to rearrange the bedroom furniture!!! Except for the armoire with the TV in it. I'm not THAT stupid! But it looks really good, so now I can start hanging some pics that have been sitting on the floor in ther for the past 8 months!

So if I get on a roll I may not be around tonight. But then again, I've already started!
026.gif
I make my drinks really weak so I'm still good! hic!

. And no Natty Light tonight either!!! I'm high class baby!

OMG! I just found a dead scorpion in our comforter! Now the question is was it there when the comforter was on the bed or did he crawl in ther after I made up the bed with the new comforter. Bucky has been laying on the old comforter folded up in the corner for the past 2 nights. I definitely need to start drinking now!
157.gif
I'm beginning to thing that alcohol is the only thing gonna get me thru living in Florida! :rotfl:

A SCORPIAN IN YOUR COMFORTER???!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:

Seriously, Kara, you are single-handedly turning me off from EVER moving there!

I'm around tonite. I'm starting to pack for our trip; just making piles and lists. I'll be on and off of here all night. I've starting my cocktails also - afterall my ex picked up the girls two hours ago! I'm enjoying a watermelon martini right now!
11.gif
I've cut up some fresh watermelon and let them soak in the vodka for a little while! YUM!

One more shirt question.......so you don't have to flip the design for a dark fabric shirt? I don't think I'm doing dark shirts for this trip but it's good to know for the Nov. trip.

I'm so annoyed. I ordered two pairs of Tevas for our trip two weeks ago. I got one pair on sale for $10 and then got another pair for regular price. When I placed the order, I was told that both were in stock and would be shipped to my local store by June 11th. Well, one pair has made it but the other pair is still in transit. They're hoping it will be delivered by the end of next week - of course, this is the pair Lauren picked out. So it looks like I'll be running down to the mall the day before I leave!:headache:

I've also purchased a case of water; will be picking up some granola bars and single-serve dry cereal. I'm packing up a box to ship via UPS to the resort - I want to get it out on Monday or Tuesday. You know what's depressing? I'm already thinking that two weeks from today our trip will be over! How stupid am I? I haven't even left yet, and I'm already fretting about it being over! Someone slap me!

Kara- That is my biggest fear scorps in the bed
scared001.gif
. I couldn't deal so now none of us will be moving near you.

I hope you have fun hanging pictures and decorating.

Cammie- I am the same way I always think about the vacation being over I am not sure why. I have to make sure things are set up for when I get home house clean etc....

I am watching Dateline and it is so depressing.

Well No Drinking here tonight I am too tired to make anything and Hard lemonade is giving me reflux.

I think I am going to cancel my Mama Melroses ADR and try something else I am just not sure what I want it to be new and FUN for Tabitha. Any ideas?

Miralax is the best thing every invented. beth from time to time has issues and this really helps just use the lowest doseage possible. The side effects can be disasterous.

Good luck Jillian with JC and baby :)

Kara the bugs just pushed me over the mark. Yuck! I would totally hate them

On the bright side I just found out that Beth's friends parents own a home in orlando and rent it out. They said they would cut us a deal if we want to go down there any time. Yeah! Now just to figure how to make this work. Tim really wants to move so got some thinking to do. Gotta run- I 'm on break at work

Is Dateline doing a story on Tim Russert? So sad!

We have ADRs at Mama Melrose(the Fantasmic pkge) in Nov. - haven't eaten there in awhile so we thought we'd give it a try. Lauren really loved Sci-Fi - it's a fun atomosphere and I thought the food was fine. I also enjoy PrimeTime cafe.

Oh man, you can say that again! I really had to play with the dosage - too little doesn't do the trick; but too much - explosions, gas pains and bloating -- oh my!

No now they are doing the show on tim russert. Before it was about inner city kids and their teacher.

Im having anxiety about the week we have chosen to go to WDW - we havent been since 2002 - I booked the trip as a Chistmas surprise for my kids - but now - Ive been reading about how busy that week and Im intensely worried that we will be doing nothing but staning around in lines. If anyone could offer encouragement I would be grateful.

I agree - Tim Russert - way too young to go - really sad.

1st of all hello and welcome.

Christmas week is VERY busy but there is a reason it must be so busy. Being in the most magical place at the most magical time of year I couldn't imagine it must be amazing. I do think you will be standing in lines but if you are smart about it then you can have a really good time. I suggest searching threads on this time of year and also researching Tour guide Mike.

Jeff does this and it drives me nuts. Or he counts down the days we have left. He'll wake up in the morning and say, "our vacation is officially 1/2 over."

On the bright side I just found out that Beth's friends parents own a home in orlando and rent it out. They said they would cut us a deal if we want to go down there any time. Yeah! Now just to figure how to make this work. Tim really wants to move so got some thinking to do. Gotta run- I 'm on break at work

Speaking of moving (NO!, but I wish we were!), I pulled up all the homes for sale in our neighborhood. There are about 25 for sale and 11 of those are selling for LESS that the current owners paid for them! There are about 4 bank foreclosures in here too. The sucky part is that if we had waited a year to move, we could have gotten so much more house for less money! Figures! But the market is just so bad right now, I'd hate to be selling!

Welcome!!!!!! You are definitely in the right place here - we are a bunch of Disney obsessed, must have control of everything, must be planned out perfectly, worry warts!

Yeah, what she said! ::yes:: I would love to be in Disney for Christmas one year. And Epcot for New Years! I guess if you've already been to Disney before and experience the "normal" Disney magic, this will be a time to experience it in a different way. I'm sure it will still be amazing!!!

How are you planning to surprise your kids???

We want to Disney for Christmas in 2006. It was from 12/24-1/1 around those dates. It was busy and there were long lines, but besides that I wished we had gone earlier in the month. WHile we got to see the pretty lights, gingerbreadhouses, decorations, etc. we missed the Very Merry Christmas party dates and other festivities that lead up to Christmas. And Santa had already come and gone. We had a great time as always though, but I'd defintely go earlier in the month next time.

Whipperwrl.....just use the Fast Pass system and you'll be ok. Here's a tip if you didn't know already (and don't tell or they won't allow it anymore) you don't have to go back during the Fast Pass times. You can't go earlier, but you can go anytime after the window opens even 4 hours later.

:scared1: :scared1: OMG!!! In your comforter!!! (OK..I am late to respond, But !!!!!!!) Call the Pest Control people. Is there even somrting to get rid of them? I didn't even know there were scorpions in FL just the southwest. Why was the scorpion dead? I got the heebie jebbies now. Maybe your dog or cat brought it in. Oh boy..hope you get rid of that problem quick.

Cammie.....whohoo.....just a few more days!!! What airline are you on? I saw that United is now charging for the first bag as well. Luckily, Southwest hasn't joined in that yet. I think this is the last we're flying. We'll either drive or hop on the Auto Train which is only 40 mins. from here. What are your plans, ADRs, etc.

Tammie, Debbie, KAra, Lisa, CRDisny, and everyone else...Happy Saturday to you all!!!!

Pam

Kara - I don't know how you do it??!! I would pack up the kids, punch my DH in the stomach and move back to where you were. That's some scary stuff you've got going on there.

Side note - Today we're outside enjoying the pool and it was lunch time. So I bring out the food and call the girls to the table. DD8 sits down at one chair and I go over to get the other chair over by the gate. On my way back to the table I see a slither in the grass about two feet from DD8. Before she sees it and FREAKS I tell her to go to the pool and get DD5. Before she can say anything she picks her feet up and asks why, which is just enough to make the SNAKE move. Of course she sees it and almost jumps on top of the table SCREAMing. I try to calm her down, act like it's nothing. I get the other chair and put it down. Of course DD5 is interested now because her sister is crying and sobbing in her chair. The two of them are on their chairs freaking now. So I take out the hoe and do a fancy chainsaw massacre all over the snake. The snake is gone and I hope all is good. The crying is gone, but the fear is obviously still there. I tell her it was only a garden snake and she tells me to stop doing gardens and maybe it will go away. :bitelip: Hours later and she still won't go oustide. She's still pretty scared, but hopefully tomorrow she'll be better.
