I'm back.....................

Missed all of you guys tons! Can't wait to catch up and see how you all have been. I have lots of laundry and cleaning to do and I need to organize pix. Mark took the kids out so I am going to take advantage of the time to get stuff done.
See you guys later!

The date on these is incorrect. This was from last October. Copperheads. Poisonous. DH walked right by the thing and didn't see it at first. I think it was coming from under our screened porch. A lot of people say around the fall they start to look for places to get warm.

There's a product called Snake Away that you can get at WalMArt or Home Depot, etc. and it's supposed to keep them away. Alot of people say it works. We've used it and haven't seen any..yet. Hope not to either!!! my 2 girls were pretty freaked out as well. They always look around them when walking in the back yard as a precaution.

So I take out the hoe and do a fancy chainsaw massacre all over the snake. The snake is gone and I hope all is good.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Love it! I can't believe you chopped him up! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'm just afraid that I would freak, too! "Stop gardening" I love it!

OMG!!!! Was that dead in the pic??? We just use mothballs in our mulch beads, same as Snake Away. So now our house smells like my grandmothers!! :rotfl2:

Thing is, that scorpion was the 4th one I've seen in the house! Jeff called one of his salesmen and asked what to do about them. He told Jeff to get a black light and shine in the yard cause scorps apparently glow. That way we can see if we have an infestation in the yard. But the guy said he's never seen one bigger than and inch or 2 in FL and never heard of anyone getting sick or dying from one. Yeah, that makes me feel sooooo much better! Not sure how he died. Either Bucky stepped on him AFTER we took it off our bed and folded it on the floor, or maybe the pesticides in the house did him in. Most of the creatures we're finding our dead or dying, so the treatment is working, I just don't like finding them at all!

No sign of "Othello" as I have named the skink. Ally just calls him "Danger!" :lmao: Hopefully he made his way back outside!

Ally just came out of the shower wearing my bra under her shirt! :rotfl: Funny thing is that since she's so small it was hanging down to her belly - again, reminders of my grandmother! :rotfl2:

Well, off to pick up some father's day stuff and do a little shopping. Jeff's golfing this afternoon but Ally and I took a 3 hour nap so we lost a lot of time!!!

(I found new smileys while you were gone!;) )

Cammie...love the new smileys!

Kara...I am pretty sure DH chopped the head first. Well..at least something is working on the scorpions thta they are dying off. You have a dog, right? Maybe they are coming in on him and are being poisoned by the tick/flea medicine?

Hiya all,
welcome back Debbie - can't wait for the pics!!!

I know now i could not live in Florida - bugs and beasties - yeuuuugh!!

Why is it all the nice places have a big downside!! They either get extreme weather or yukky bugs!!

Just a quick flyby - back is better now, so got some catching up to do with my girls....

Tessa

Pam - I had posted the following a couple of days ago - seeing that you just asked what my plans are for our trip, I'm guessing you didn't see it. So here you go..............

Good morning ladies! It's rainy and miserable here today - only in the 60s!
1.gif
Amazing that it was just 104 degrees out four days ago!

So I picked up two white t-shirts at Target yesterday; will put the Dutchess and Marie transfer on today. Couldn't find any sleeveless ones that fit right, but I'm happy with the ones we got. I think I may hold off on making the shirts with the Mickey ears transfers - will save those for our Nov. trip so we can wear them with Amanda also. We'll see.

I've been looking at our AK day. I don't like the looks of any of the menus for CS places there. We really, really loved the Tusker House and were so disappointed they made it a TS place. Where do you guys eat lunch when you're there? I guess there's always Restaurantsaurus - they serve McDonald's (but I really don't want to eat McD's on vacation). The other two CS places are Flame Tree or Pizzafari.

I've got my suitcases out and will be putting outfits together during the week. I have my carry-ons all set and am shipping a box with snacks and water tomorrow. I can't believe we're leaving in a week!

Cammie! Woo Hoo! Only one week! :cool1: The bad thing about this thread is that I've gotten kind of attached to my Creepy Internet Friends (CIFs) and I miss y'all when you're gone!:worried:

We eat at Flame Tree EVERY time we're at AK! I like that it's not burgers and fries, but barbeque or smoked chicken/turkey/ribs with beans, corn on the cob or cole slaw for a side. Very yummy! But I can't really compare cause that's the only place we've ever eaten at AK.

Tessa - Don't overdo it with your back! Don't want to hear that you're laid up again!

Pam - Hmm, never thought about my sweet Bucky bringing his scorpion friends home for dinner.... But he's got really short hair so I'd think we could see them. But I'll start watching for that.

Gotta make a peach cobbler for Jeff for dinner - it's Fathers Day after all.

Yesterday, after we got back from shopping, we hopped in the golf cart to try to get some pics of the golf course at sunset. Then I printed them in b&w and framed for Jeff for his office. I may have to retake them though, cause a few were too dark. But while we were cruising around, I look down on my leg and what do I see but a HUGE (only way they make 'em in FL!) spider on my leg!!! I screamed, Ally screamed, and then we busted out laughing for like the next five minutes. I'm telling you, I don't make this stuff up!

OK, off to clean a little house - looks like a stormy afternoon today. Talk to you ladies later!

Good Morning As Cammie said yucky rainy day here. I tried to make French toast loaf for Mike this AM and the butter came up and over the pan and there was smoke EVERYWHERE:lmao: Now I have to clean the oven. Major migraine happening here at the moment I have a double ear infection and feel like crud. I had to put Luca down in the crib because I was falling asleep with all the medicine and it took him more than an hour to fall asleep I feel so bad when things like that happen :worried: . Well DH is off of his 24 hour shift and is feeling like crud and didn't get any sleep last night so he is useless today too. POOR BADOOKIE :(

I have had to hold off on Mike's Father's Day Brunch until Tuesday when we are both up to it. I haven't even gone to get him anything yet. He doesn't need anything or want anything. The only thing he complains about is our comforter and how cheap and wrinkled it is (bought it because of Badookies reflux episodes and it can go in the wash!) Now I hate to get house stuff but I am not sure what else?

Well happy Sunday All. Hope to talk to you all later.

DEBBIE HELLO WELCOME BACK WE MISSED YOU:banana: :yay:

Cammie- I forgot to say we eat at flame tree BBQ too! It is so very yummy. We always get the salad it is Heaven in a bowl. Also we have tried the ribs and they are very yummy too!

Hi all

Kara first off eeeekkkkk poor poor you .. scorpions, snakes and funny looking creatures i do feel for you!!

Cammie ... 1 week to go .. you must be soooo excited .. oh how i wish i was going too :rotfl:

Tessa ... glad your back is doing better but like kara said don't go doing too much!!

Debbie .... Welcome home .. how we have all missed you!!

Ok a couple of questions for fellow planners
I am planning to take my DD to WDW February 2010 .. we have always hired villas and never stayed on property, as it will be her 11th birthday i want to do 4 or 5 nights on property then to a villa
Any tips on when to start looking, where to stay and how to get any discounts???? Also any other tips will be sooo handy

Thanks girls xx

Erin,

The rates and dates for the next year will not come out until August (usually), but the way Disney is going who knows? So August 2009 the rates will be available for Feb 2010. I think in the UK the come out a little earlier. With an 11 year old I would think you might want to try POP or a moderate resort you probably wont be in the room a whole lot.

OK, just popped on for a minute to go back and find Tessa's leaky mash recipe she gave me - Jeff will love that! But I want to comment on Erin's upcoming trip - LET'S START PLANNING! :cool1: :rotfl2:

First off, obviously my planning is a bit different now since we're so close, but about a year out I'd check first to see if there's a code attached to your name. Make sure you're registed on disney.com! Then start by checking out all the resorts on line. First decide whether you would like to stay deluxe, mod, or value (of course a code could change all that! ;) )and then decide if you want to stay at the beginning or end of your trip (I'd stay at the end for that little bit of magic to end the vacation!). Of course we'll all have plenty of opinions for you! :rotfl:

Renee - looks like you're in the line of fire for storms today? Be careful!

OK, got a good one for you. My MIL is 1/2 Italian. Her mother, Jeff's nana, was a wonderful woman!!! Just like my own grandma. Anyway, Jeff grew up with a lot of old Italian wive's tales, if you know what I mean..... One time, to help relieve his constipation when he was a baby, his mother put parsley stems up his bottom. I swear! Something in it gets it going, apparently. You should have seen my face the first time Ally had that problem and she told me that. I quickly informed Jeff that his mother would NEVER babysit for us!!!!
:lmao: :lmao:

As for the storms - you called it. They blew through and lightening hit a transformer in front of our house. Sparks - the whole nine yards. Knocked out our power for a few hours, tripped our breakers, in the end, the only thing we lost was our internet connection. After lots of work on it, Carlos discovered it was the connection from our modem to the computer so either port fried. We bypassed it with a USB port, so we are back on line. So lucky it didn't get our TVs. Well - except one that the picture is half out on. We've had it for about 15 years. It is horrible and big. I so want that thing to fry. I'll still have it when we are 90! ha!

Ok - so look on the bright side......if your mouth is burning, you won't feel like eating, which means you may lose some weight after all is said and done! Who needs Jenny Craig? Remember that line from "The Devil Wears Prada"? "I'm just one stomach bug away from my goal weight!":lmao:

Stay safe from the storms!]
Haven't seen that movie, but this is the same thing I told Carlos last night. I told him now was the time to start a diet because that one week adjustment period would be a non issue since nothing tastes to me and eating is soley utilitarian at this point!

OMG! I just found a dead scorpion in our comforter! :
There is so no way that Orlando move is happening! WTH? I didn't know those things lived down there. And OMG, what if you get a blacklight and see a million of them!!!! :scared1:

Miralax is the best thing every invented.
::yes:: But isn't Myles too little for that? We didn't start using it on Nicolas until he was 3 I think. The ped said it was an all natural undigestible salt, so I really like that.

So I take out the hoe and do a fancy chainsaw massacre all over the snake. .
:scared1: :scared1:

Debbie - Glad you are back!!!

We left before doing lunch mostly because it was noonish and the lines were so Long! This was probably around 12:30-1:30. We tried Restaurantsaurus and the line was crazy long (like 45 min). IMHO, think about doing breakfast at Tusker (best breakfast the whole trip!) and a late off time lunch. The lines were really long that day for food - but it could have been because it was misting off and on, but we didn't wait in any of those lines. Even the little hot dog carts had deep lines that day. :confused3 Most people complain about Pizzafari and LOVE Flame Tree, but their menu just didn't wow me that much. Sorry I can't be more help than that! :(

Cammie - not sure what you are eating ADR dinner that night, but are you gals fruit eaters? What about a big breakfast that morning and getting some fruit in Africa, I hear it is wonderful and then do your Dinner and have lots of room for dinner/dessert...:confused3

Renee - I LOVE that idea! We actually have dinner ADRs at LeCellier that night - our favorite restaurant; but it's not until 8pm. I, too, was thinking of doing the breakfast but what bugs me is that, now that Lauren is 12, I have to pay for her as an adult at the Tusker House buffet; and there's no way she eats an adult amount of food! I'm thinking we may catch breakfast at the WL before we head out; and then just snack all day until dinner. It's vacation, right?

Ok, so I finally did it! I'm so proud of myself! :woohoo: Here are my shirts....................

I know I may be making too big of a deal about this but, really, I'm a craft nitwit!

I see all these great designs that others make and it looks so easy. But when I tackle a project, I always manage to screw it up somehow. I was actually shaking when I peeled back the transfer backing. What a sigh of relief I gave when I saw that it actually worked!
7.gif

I don't know if I'll make anymore for this trip. I went out today looking for red tshirts for the Mickey ears design and couldn't find the sizes I needed. I'm not going to make myself crazy - I still have our nov.trip! So - thanks Tammie for all your help in getting the designs made; and thanks, Kara, for your guidance and advice with the whole process. I may need all of your help when I tackle this project again in a few months!

Hi again girls! I shot you all an email so if I don't have your email address PLEASE PM it to me if you want.

Thanks for missing me. I still swear this is the only place I am actually appreciated!!! Thanks for that.

I will work on PIX later. They aren't WDW so they will probably be boring!:rotfl2:

Ready for the main highlight of the trip besides not doing cleaning, laundry, cooking, excellent weather, sun fun, pool and beaching it every day..........

THE DISNEY WORLD OUTLET STORE WAS BACK AT THE MIRMAR OUTLET MALL!!!!!!!!

OMG I was so excited!! It was there and then disappeared for 3 YEARS!!! So sad! But it was back and as awesome as always! I got a ton of great stuff!!!!! I spent $160.00 but I swear I got $450.00 worth of stuff!!!:yay:

OK I am going to go try and catch up....
