hello

Beth enjoyed the slip n slide until she was blue. That child will be in the coldest water. katherine did it too. Wish I would have taken pictures...

Wow I can't believe I am the first one up this am. We got Beth moved downstairs. I was concerned enough that I put a baby monitor in her room.

I think I am living in a rainforest. I just won't stop raining. My pond is starting to overflow in the backyard. Keeping my fingers crossed it clears up today.

Yikes! Hope it clears up soon!

Jillian - I couldn't figure out what it was??? Spell out part of it and them put in the stars. Inquiring minds want to know!

Tammie - March, huh? I can do that!!!!! We came down this year for a weekend in March, so if we go in November, it might be time for a quick trip in March!

The lizard on the back porch was a SKINK, according to one of the guys that runs summer camp. He described it perfectly, said they are totally harmless and have no teeth! I told Jeff next time I WILL just let Bucky out to have his way with them. And I don't know what happened to this one. I hunted for him last night on the porch but I think he got out. Whew!

Just had a little scare though (7am is TOOOOO early for this!) when I went down the street to let my neighbor's dog out. I go in the house and I hear "beep beep beep." Great! They have an alarm and didn't tell me! So I take big ole Baxter, their golden retreiver, out to do his bidness. When I come in, still "beep beep beep." All I can think is that surely the police won't handcuff me and haul me off. After all, if I were there to rob them, would I have pulled up in a golf cart in my pajamas??? I hadn't even brushed me teeth yet!!! So I stopped and listened and it was the alarm CLOCK in the bedroom. Whew! So I won't need any of you to bake me a cake with a file in it! But thanks for the offer!

Then, I pull the golf cart into the garage, step out and see (literally!) the BIGGEST spider I've ever seen in my LIFE! Why do I keep capitalizing words??? Anywho.... I know I've said this before, but they just keep getting bigger! This one was seriously about as big in diameter (legs included) as a softball, and the body alone was about the diameter of just smaller than a golf ball (barely smaller!). It was horrible! I told Jeff if I would have stepped on it it would have thrown me off balance!!! Oh, how I hate Florida!!!!!

Yeah for March!!!
Okay, I DO NOT LIKE LIZARDS THAT LOOK LIKE SNAKES!!! :scared1: No wonder you were in the toolshed looking for weapons!

Sounds like that spider was a tarantula!!!!

Cammie - Once again, Debbie will be so proud of you with all your smilies!!!! I'd never heard that word that Jillian used. Hmmm... down here we just call y'all "yankees."

Kinda funny, cause when we moved to SC from Ohio, we found out that a lot of southern hospitality is very phony. A lot of southerners really do NOT like northerners. To them it is still the "war of Northern aggression." But once we blended in, we came to love southern living! But we still tease all our friends up north about being "yankees." One guy used to tell me all the time that a southerners biggest nightmare was a yankee with a U-haul!

:rotfl: :rotfl:

No respectable yankee would be caught dead hauling a trailer of any kind! :snooty:

:rotfl2:

Finally a nice warm/cool day in MA! Last night we finally got the pool completely filled and ready to go and now it's going to be cool all weekend long. I'm sure the girls are going to go in the pool no matter what the temperature is, so I'm not worried.

I opened the door to the backyard and what do I see - that's right my first SNAKE of the season!! :scared1: That's right they're back! You have to understand my DD8 has been known to stay in her room for weeks in order to stay way from Snakes. Last year she saw 2 of them minutes apart in two different spots of the yard, I didn't think she was ever going to come out of her room that month.

So today I'm going to finish making shorts for the girls and then probably veg out today!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!!

:scared1:

Ok - I'm getting hit on by the two guys here to service my boiler (and no, there is no sexual innuedo in that statement!) Too bad they are old and smell like oil!

Where's the oil guy that looks like George Clooney?

I'll be back to check out the posts I've missed.

See, I told you when you were least expecting it..... :rotfl2:

Where is the tag fairy NOW?????

:lmao: :lmao:

Okay Cammie, from now on when you say your prayers, you need to be more specific. Rather than just saying, "please send me a hot guy... or two" you need to say "please send me a hot guy - cute hot, not sweaty hot - ... or two." :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was laughing out loud and Jim was waking up! You girls are just too funny today!

Oh good grief - they just left! Very funny and very nice - not my type though! But they kept me downstairs talking -- poor Amanda was upstairs by herself!

Anyhoo - Renee, sorry you're still not feeling well. I hope the new meds do the trick for you! You should be a lovely vision over the next few days!

Kara - The photobook came out sooo nice! I think I'm going to do one for our June trip. Now, did you say you can use both photopass pix and your own? Do you have to purchase the photopass cd to used those pix in the album? Or can I bypass the cd, have a bunch of photopass pix taken and then use them just for the album? Am I making sense?

I've started to get a few things together for our trip. Will put alot more together this weekend when the girls' are at their dad's. I went into Lauren's room last night and she had all of these post-its hanging up with reminders of things to bring to Disney. She also tells me she really needs to start packing her carry-on..........packing her carry-on 10 DAYS ahead of time - I've taught her well!

Well, the girls and I are heading out for chinese food. See you all later!

Oh good, you've raised a control freak, worry wart

hello

Beth enjoyed the slip n slide until she was blue. That child will be in the coldest water. katherine did it too. Wish I would have taken pictures...

:cold: We actually got some sun today! should be nice for the grad party on Saturday! I was worried that I would have 40 people in my house - 25 is really the limit to our DR and LR. Our den is in the back of the house and it is at this moment a playroom for the kids.

I still have some cleaning to do, and I ended up down with a horrible headache by 5pm - in bed for good at 8:30pm. It hurts to hold my head up. I just opened the windows back up, I wonder if that's it.

Myles has been vomiting on and off for 2 days. Lindsay took him to the doc today - possibly and ulcer. :worried: He is a little worrier, too! He has had so many changes in his little life lately.

He is having a hard time adjusting to having 4 adults around. He gets away with everything with Papa, and then gets upset when the rest of us give him boundaries. I try to follow their rules, but Jim just has such a hard time. We have to tell him, especially to help Myles out, but he gets his feelings hurt so we have to ease in to it, or he'll pout.

Okay, when I wake up I'm gonna be fine and I'll be cleaning bright and early! I have a phone appt, an appt with a salon owner, babysitting for grad practice, and set up tables for the party - no time to be sick!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Good Morning Ladies!

TGIF!!!!! I can't believe it's Father's Day on Sunday and I forgot to send a card to my dad! Or a gift! I have the present here - I bought it like 3 months ago, but forgot to send it. And knowing him, he'll get his feelings hurt. So I have to come up with a good excuse. Working from home is my excuse though, I just never get out to get things done.

Like mailing the photopass cd to my SIL - still haven't done it! But then again, she still hasn't paid me!!! She told me she forgot to mail it, cause she's so busy. Jeff and I can't figure out how they are so busy - yes, they both work, and have two kids, but neither kid is involved in anything other than daycare so who knows? What gets me is that we are ALL busy in some way, we just don't complain about it all the time. Guess what? It's called LIFE!

Jeff is so bugging me right now! He hasn't put away his laundry from 2 weeks ago! I fold his clothes, and put a few things away for him, but I refuse to hang up his clothes in the closet. So I drape them on the bed, he comes home, moves them to the floor and leaves them there forever! Drives me insane. Then he has the nerve to ask me why I haven't done any decorating in our bedroom! Ha! I can't even vacuum on his side of the bed cause of all his junk!

I invited one of Ally's friends to spend the night tonight. It's the little girl that I don't really like, but I figure as long as they play HERE I can monitor what they do. She is just so boy crazy already, and her mother thinks it's cute. Uh, no. They are 7. There will be plenty of time for boys when they are 35! :rotfl2:

So, off to shower and get ready for the day. Jeff's golfing at 2 this afternoon, about an hour away, so he won't be home before 8 or 9 tonight. That gives me time to get some more work done in the house tonight, to get it ready for the weekend. I like my house clean before the weekend, so I don't have to mess with it. Then I like to clean it again on Sunday night so it's clean for the week. Not that it ever works out like this though!:rotfl2:

Cammie - Too funny about Lauren getting ready so early - you've taught her well! :thumbsup2

And it's really easy to upload your own photos to photopass. And when they are printed out in the book, they look just as good as the photopass photos!

Happy

I had a long post with reply to Renee and Tammie's quotes and I hit the wrong button - and POOF - my post was gone! So here's my shorter response:

Renee - Sounds like you're going to have a very miserable next few days -
9.gif
. I hope your hubby is around to help you out! I'll keep my fingers crossed that these meds work and you won't need surgery!

Tammie - You take it easy too, young lady! Hope you're feeling better today and the weather cooperates for you this weekend. But....listen to your body and don't overdo it! Delegate some of those chores!

Kara - Yeah, I agree, 7 is kind of young to be boy crazy all ready. I'd keep an eye on that one. Those types of girls usually grow up to be the wild ones!

I'm off for a little while this morning. I have a meeting with Amanda's doctor to discuss her surgery and hospital stay in July. I had really wanted to put off this "yucky" discussion until AFTER vacation - just want to think happy thoughts from here on out - but we just couldn't fit it in any other time.:worried:

Will anyone be around tonite for

I'll probably be around early tonight (around 8ish eastern time) for DP - but once Jeff gets home, I'll need to talk to him. He likes to rehash his entire round after golf! He's just lucky that I golf too so I understand what he's talking about!

Renee - sounds like a yucky time for you - just make sure to get lots of rest and drink lots of fluids! Here's hoping you feel better soon!

Tammie - luckily I've never had a migraine, but I know folks who get them all the time. Same for you, missy, lots of rest and fluids and like Cammie said, listen to your body - delegate, delegate, delegate! That way also you'll feel more in the party mood once all your guest arrive!

Just ran to the store real quick - I'm still not buying pantry items! And it's looking so good in there! I'm really liking this! OK, in the past 2 weeks I think I've only spent about $60-$70 (luckily we had lots of meat in the freezer), and that includes 20# of dog food, and some knockwurst for dindin tonight. I asked Ally if she and Alexis wanted pizza or "hot dogs" and she said hot dogs. Little does she know she's getting potatoes and sauerkraut with them! Nice thing is that I get rid of a can of sauerkraut that moved with us from SC 8 months ago!

And my neighbors just brought me some peaches (I'm gonna make a cobbler - yum!) and lettuce and 7 layer dip cause they're leaving for 10 days in the Bahamas and she was getting rid of all her perishable stuff.

This little Alexis is so much bigger than Ally (but she's 7, too), a bit chunky, but absolutely beautiful! Her mom is just the same. Ally told me that the boys don't like her because she always tries to kiss them! I told her GOOD. I'm trying to stress to Ally that it's great to have boys as friends. I think she's getting it cause her best bud seems to be the 8 year old boy down the street. They are an awesome family with two great boys (8 and 4) that are adopted. The 8 year old instantly took to Ally and they are like brother/sister. The first day that Ally rode the bus to school, Sean said he'd watch out for her, and he's done that ever since. Unfortunately, the dad just quit his job and they're moving to Punta Gorda. I could cry just thinking about it cause I would have loved for these two kids to grow up together. I already had Sean pegged for her prom date! :rotfl2: And the mom has turned into a good friend for me. I think they are the only "real" people we've met since moving to FL. There are a lot of "posers" out where we live. Yes, we live on a golf course, but it's a public course. And a lot of the people we've met act like it's a country club. Know the type? We laugh and call ourselves the "DOMs" as in "domestics" cause we are the only house we've seen out here that has two domestic cars in the driveway. :rotfl: And it's funny cause Jeff's company car is a bright blue Ford Five Hundred (aka Taurus). It's so ugly! But we drive it everywhere cause the gas and miles are "free." So, how do you like your Hummer now, Biff and Muffy Poser? :rotfl2:

OK, enough rambling...... I'm just procrastinating cause I have a lot of crap to do for work today. Later!

KARA - Oh, you just reminded me I have to do laundry today - I hate laundry:laundy: .

Well today is DD8's cookout at school and of course she's asked for some 'extra' things from the store. I can't blame her boiled hotdogs and hamburgers aren't really my idea of a fun cookout. I'm happy DH will be able to take a 1/2 day so he can go too, that should make her happy. No sign of the SNAKE this morning, but then again i'm not really looking for it either. Thankfully DD8 hasn't seen it yet. There'd be no living with her after that.

:offtopic: Just a side note for anyone who is living in the areas that are flooding. My heart and prayers go out to you. I hope you and your family are safe. What I've seen of the rivers overflowing looks so much like New Orleans I just hope people will be able to bounce back better then they have down there. :hippie: Be Safe!!

I totally agree with you Tina! I hope Debbie's home is okay - when is she supposed to be back? The storms have been so scary this year - and the rain and flooding, it's heartbreaking to hear some of the stories.

Hope your DD has a fun picnic!

Does anyone out there have a cleaning lady? I'm back on the fence again - it's just so hard to keep up with it and I end up stressing myself out! I don't know what is a "fair" price to pay so I want to get some feedback from others.

Good morning ladies!

Renee, how are you doing? I hope things aren't too rough for you.

Thanks Kara and Cammie for the TLC! I'm feeling better this morning. Myles is still crying about his stomach hurting. I was worried about a bowel obstruction, but the doc said his tummy was soft. So this morning he is up crying and he can't poop. Mark, his daddy is giving him some prunes and some peppermint tea so I hope he can go soon. We have a big couple of days coming up.

Kara that is so funny about the "posers." People are really funny, aren't they? I think you should just pretend your golf course is the country club and go with it! :rotfl2: You do have a clubhouse, right? :thumbsup2

Okay, I have to go get some coffee - :surfweb: have a wonderful Friday!

Laura- I forgot to say Yes Mike and I will start trying for another smunchkin after this next trip. I am now just monitering everything to make sure it stays stable. I am also trying to lose 40 lbs before and will be starting Jenny craig on Monday.

I had a cleaning person Well 5 of them actually :rotfl2: none of them lasted past one cleaning. On avg. they charged $85 a week and I still cannot figure out what they did.

Luca has constipation problems and we use warm almost hot water and a teaspoon of sugar. If the prunes and tea don't work try this it never fails,Even in adults. I hope you are feeling better. I am a migraine sufferer and also BAD allergies and know how you feel

I will try to be around for DP tonight if anyone else is going to be. We will be making Pina Coladas and Margaritas to get them out of the freezer no more drinking on Jenny Craig H2O only!!!!

Kara- You have helped me choose JC and I have a meeting for Sat to start things out they are doing 20/20 I also got a coupon for 25 off of food.

Well it's a cleaning day here it needs to be done before this weekend. I forgot that father's day was THIS Sunday I thought it was next sunday. UGH I need to get going.

I am also trying to lose 40 lbs before and will be starting Jenny craig on Monday.

Yea!!!!! You can also drink diet soda or tea, too! I really hope you love it as much as I did. Also, if you have a 25% off coupon for food, stock up as much as you can afford to do right off the bat! It will save you big $$$$!

I had a cleaning person Well 5 of them actually :rotfl2: none of them lasted past one cleaning. On avg. they charged $85 a week and I still cannot figure out what they did.

Yikes! I had one at our last house for $75 per cleaning and she came every other week and she was awesome! Each week she did something extra like (silly, but it all helps!) cleaning out the dog's bowl, picking up Ally's playroom, cleaning the over, blinds, windows. But down here my neighbor is paying so much more!

I still keep a jar or two of baby food prunes for Ally - works every time!

That's right! no booze for you for awhile!

Well, the skanky, stinky, skink is still out there! I was talking on the phone to my neighbor, and the next thing ya know, her husband comes over wearing gloves. He tried to catch it and throw it in the woods but we couldn't find it! I was very brave though. Before he came over, I had on my boots (winter snow boots!!!! :rotfl2: ) and I was trying to flush him out. I had a long handled broom and was shoving it all over the place. He may have been in Ally's rain boots that were laying out there. I tossed them outside (rather, shoved them with the broom!) so hopefully he was in there and he's gone now.

And now, back to my life in the Amazon! :rotfl:

I've had 4 over the past couple of years. I agree with Jillian, they just dont' clean as well as I'd like for the $$. One was flaky. Way too much drama with her - she charged $78 for 2 hours. I've had two that charged $100 and just said "till it is done" Funny, I can't clean my bathroom in two hours, but they were both out of here in under two hours. One was a team of two and one was solo. My most recent was a team of two for $85. About an hour or maybe two is all they stayed. They did ceiling fans, blinds, baseboards - whatever. If there were dishes in the sink, they'd clean them.

Renee, how are you doing? I hope things aren't too rough for you.

Myles is still crying about his stomach hurting. I was worried about a bowel obstruction, but the doc said his tummy was soft. So this morning he is up crying and he can't poop. !
Mia has terrible problems - like so bad we've had to do crazy things. Our Ped recommended 8 oz of warm water with a tablespoon of Karo Corn Syrup. Most babies love it - it acts as a softener, doesn't really make you go. That never worked with us. Mia wouldn't drink it. Then the ped said try Pear Juice. Two 8 oz cups of that works in about 6 hours and is really messy. One will get results, but it may still be hard. Think of a scale 1-10. 1=apple juice, 4=pear juice, 10=prune juice in strength of making you go. Pear juice is stronger than the Apple/Prune combo. My Doc is 65 and specializes in gastro at our top teaching hospital, so I trust him. I've had to use half a glycerine supository twice. Hated that! Oh - the juice has sorbitol in it which the food doesn't - and that is what makes you go, so juice is a better choice than the food. Prunes also cause a little distress/cramping of the stomach, so they recommend Pear as much as possible. Hope some of that helps! Poor little guy!!!

Jillian, good luck on TTC. We (okay I) got a little nutty with all that. Let's just say that all three of my pregnancies were VERY planned. I'll be thinking of you!!! Lots of babydust!! :)

If you dont' mind letting me know the $$ for JC too. I sware, i'm so disinterested in WW. I don't have time to do all the meal planning, and that is what is getting me!

:confused3 Dear, why do you have winter snow boots in FL? :confused3

I told Carlos that there is NO WAY we are transfering down to FL now. Orlando or not, I'm not doing all these lizard/scorpions/bugs that can be mistaken for birds or rats. He laughed and said they really aren't that big. I said ,"YEAH, THEY ARE!". So he is bidding on jobs here instead. He knows there is no chance getting me there!

I'm feeling okay so far. The mouth burning has started. LOVELY. All other systems seem okay thus far :thumbsup2 Thanks for asking. I figure I'll be safe until Sun. That is probably when it will go down hill. I'm taking Lactobicillus too to ward off the effects. It is going to rain today - that is so good. My yard looks fried already and I don't want to drag out the hose in the 90 degree weather to water it! I'm just lazy.

Renee - looks like you're in the line of fire for storms today? Be careful!

Also, you tell Carlos that YES THEY ARE THAT BIG down here! It's shaving years off my life just worrying about it! I was on a step stool the other day watering my hanging baskets and a lizard shimmies up the chain! I about fell off! Yes, I know they are harmless, but they are gross and they are fast and they just startle me!!!!!

OK, got a good one for you. My MIL is 1/2 Italian. Her mother, Jeff's nana, was a wonderful woman!!! Just like my own grandma. Anyway, Jeff grew up with a lot of old Italian wive's tales, if you know what I mean..... One time, to help relieve his constipation when he was a baby, his mother put parsley stems up his bottom. I swear! Something in it gets it going, apparently. You should have seen my face the first time Ally had that problem and she told me that. I quickly informed Jeff that his mother would NEVER babysit for us!!!!

I tried to go without one after my divorce (to save money) and just realized it wasn't working. My whole house was never clean at the same time. I would only have time for maybe one task a day and by the time I was done, it was time to start all over again. I pay $70 for two women every other week.
9.gif
They are not the best at dusting but man, do they get my bathrooms and kitchen sparkling clean!:thumbsup2
10.gif
I don't know how I'm getting away with paying what I do; I know neighbors who pay over $100! Oh - and they also changes the bedsheets!

Thanks Kara and Cammie for the TLC! I'm feeling better this morning. Myles is still crying about his stomach hurting. I was worried about a bowel obstruction, but the doc said his tummy was soft. Glad to hear you're feeling better, Tammie; but more Myles! I know you've gotten some suggestions. Amanda has a hard time too; it's not that she's constipated, she just can't move her bowels as easily as the rest of us. I give her a tsp. of Miralax a day. Works well most of the time!

Kara- You have helped me choose JC and I have a meeting for Sat to start things out they are doing 20/20 I also got a coupon for 25 off of food.

Good luck with JC, Jillian! You can do it!:thumbsup2

Ok - so look on the bright side......if your mouth is burning, you won't feel like eating, which means you may lose some weight after all is said and done! Who needs Jenny Craig? Remember that line from "The Devil Wears Prada"? "I'm just one stomach bug away from my goal weight!":lmao:

Stay safe from the storms!

Cammie, step away from the smilies!!!!!

I tried to go without one after my divorce (to save money) and just realized it wasn't working. My whole house was never clean at the same time. I would only have time for maybe one task a day and by the time I was done, it was time to start all over again. I pay $70 for two women every other week.

It is soooo not funny! I'm a basket case down here! And the reason I'm wearing boots is to take Bucky outside I have to walk through the porch. I know that "HE" is just waiting to ATTACK!!!!! Slimylittlebugger!!!! Then my neighbor told me that he has seen 4 snakes since he moved in last winter, and one of them was about 4-5 ft long crossing from his street toward my yard!!!!! So I know they're out there, and it's only a matter of time before I see one!

Swear to god - I would faint on the spot!!!!!:faint:

Tammie told me that the ribbed tanks at WalMart handle the transfers pretty well. You need to choose that has a narrow ribbing - which they do. I think the ones from Old Navy have too wide a ribbing.
