Did you ever try Excedrin? That works best for my headaches. Since you've taken the motrin and the tylenol already, maybe drink a caffeinated beverage? (I am a pharmacist, so that is my both my professional and personal recommendation!)

I get headaches and they really suck. I had one a few weeks ago that lasted 3 days. That's the worst, when you wake up day after day with the same headache. Hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for the advice. I'm actually drinking tea now. I am having sinus/stress issues. I did several antibiotics over a six week period (, clindamycin, bactrim, arithromycine, Levaquin-) and just finished another z pack. Wondering if it is still the sinus stuff although my xray looked better. My two cents is that the pharm know more than the drs. :thumbsup2 so thanks for your advice.

And -- Joe has now replaced Zac Ephron as my inappropriate crush......... (don't worry - he's 19!;) )

I am shocked and offended, and do not know if I will be able to visit here any more.:lmao:

 Only my outside is getting old!princess:

Aw c'mon! Is he not adorable?

I know I'm old enough to be his........older sister !:rolleyes1 But, still -- he's easy on the eyes! Just admiring the Lord's handiwork!:worship:

I don't know about that - Zac is quite the cutie. And I must admit, "little" Joe in his tight leather pants kinda creaps me out....

I am so glad that you mentioned that you were an HR manager, because I told my DH he should go to HR about the situation. Of course, he is so laid back, he is not going to pursue it. He did mention it to her supervisor, though. I am with you on opinions re:parenting pre and post-parenthood. Sometimes I hear things come out of my mouth and I can't believe I am saying them...I sound like my parents!

I was telling my sister about my husbands coworker and she made a really good point. First of all, you can never judge anyone because you really don't know what their life is like "behind closed doors." Also, if people were just a little more kind and understanding and treated others how they would like to be treated, our society would be a much better place. It seems to me that a lot of times, people try to make themselves feel better by putting others down.

Excellent points! :thumbsup2 I just told Ally this morning that the only thing I ask of her is to be honest and kind. Especially when it comes to helping others (aka the kids who get picked on all the time).

Last time I had a days long headache, someone gave me Tylenol for arthritis and it knocked it out right away!

OK, so I laid down for a power nap, usually lasting 20-30 minutes - I slept for 2 hrs!!!! :scared1:

Anyone that can get leather pants on and look good in them is fine by me!

I've always felt that the people who are the most pompous or arrogant and the ones with the most to hide!

How old are you, sweetie?

Jeff's sister is such a B****!!! I just emailed her and asked for her home phone# and said that Jeff tried calling her on her cell last night but then we realized we didn't have her home #. She emails back "I didn't see any calls on my cell phone." Seriously, why is he even bothering to go up there? I just flat out won't do it. Why use my vacation time and spend my money to spend time with someone I just don't like? We can just see them at Jeff's parents house. Oh, wait! They are too snooty to even go visit her parents!!! We have a 6-7 hr drive and they have a 4 hr drive and we've been back 4 times since we moved. They have been once in 9 months. :sad2: And I'm sure she's totally ticked that Ally spent a week up there with Jeff's parents. His sister is totally jealous of the relationship her parents have with Ally. Hey, she's the first grandkid! It's natural. I tried to explain to her once that my parents have the same relationship with my niece and it doesn't bother me, but she's just such a snot. AARRGGHH!!!!

Okay, if she was anything other than a BSIL, we'd seriously think she had been snatched by aliens and replaced. I hate that you have to go through this, but some people are just like that. Seriously Kara, if you didn't HAVE to be family with her, would you ever speak to her again? :rolleyes1 I know that isn't an option, but she is just that type of person and she needs to grow up. What goes around comes around - and I'd hate to be in her shoes. I think your feelings are totally justified.

As for the talk with Ally, we had the same one last night at dinner with Nicolas. It is 24/7 what he wants for Christmas - so we tried to explain charity and that it isn't always about receiving but what you can do/give, so we told him to come up with 3 things that he wanted to do for others and we'd help him - we discussed examples, etc. I asked him today what they were and I got , "and if I do these I will get this experiement and that experiment." :headache:

Oh and I love all the Jonas Brothers but not like Zac. I have the most bizarre inappropriate crush on Zac. Seriously..it brings me back to when I was in HS. Awkward!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those Jonas brothers are adorable but I hate Joe's eyebrows!

So I'm the only one on here that doesn't see what the big deal is about those Jonas brothers. :confused3 I think they just remind me of Hansen! :lmao:

Tell you what - you ladies HAVE 'EM.

I'll take Jon Bon Jovi... :thumbsup2

That man just gets better and better with time.

I don't really get the Jonas Brothers, either. The other day, my 5 year told me, "I pretty much want to go to a Jonas Brothers concert." So I asked her what songs they sing and she told me, "I don't know, but that's what I need to find out.":rotfl:

And my musical taste is pretty extreme. I just went to see Nine Inch Nails last week. I can't imagine that there were too many other Disney-loving, working moms of 3 kids there, but the show was amazing!! Before this year, I hadn't been to a concert in years, but I am on a roll this year. I saw Foo Fighters in Feb, Ben Folds in April, Nine Inch Nails last week plus two more shows in August and Ben Folds again in September. I am finally getting out of the house again (other than to work) and it's awesome!

Hey everyone! I haven't posted in forever (not since there was a new thread) but I was on the Dis today and just wanted to stop in and say hi. I don't know a lot of you, but hopefully I will get to know you.

My 3 year broke his leg, so our summer is basically over now:sad2: . Its too much effort to take a 5 year, 2 year old, and 3 year old in a wheelchair out, so I suspect I will be spending more time on the computer now.

Hi Debbie, Pam, and Tammie:goodvibes How are you all doing?

Maureen

Maureen! So glad to see you! I've missed you here. I'm sorry to hear that your DS broke his leg. :sad2: I hope he doesn't have a hard time in his recovery - it's hard for little guys to understand.

I'm doing well - my DS and his little family have moved in with us while he and DDIL finish their Masters program. I have my 3 yo Myles in bed with us now - he's checking out the smileys and watching cartoons - I think DH had other plans :lmao: They also have little Londynn who turned 1 in July - I have been doing lots of babysitting

Maureen - hi, and sorry to hear about your little one. I'm sure you will come up with creative things to do. Hope the leg heals quickly.

Tammie - I actually logged on to tell you a little I found out about the cricut.
The one I have retails at $199 and can cut up to 5.5 Tall by something smaller than 5.5 width. The new one exclusive to Michaels retails at 299 (sale this week for $269) and can do portrait or landscape, so up to 11.5x5.5 and can also do mirror image as well as a paper saving function. Basically taking away all my gripes of "I love it but I wish..."

I spent last night trying to convince Carlos that I needed to sell mine on EBAY and get the new one. He agreed until I told him the price difference. :sad2: I agree with him, that I kinda can't get it - but I SO WISH I had know that was in the pipeline. :sad2:

800 mg of Motrin taken :thumbsup2 , hopefully this headache will give up soon.

Thanks for the info, Renee! I'll have to speak to Dana about it and see if she thinks it's something we want to do!

So glad you are back!!!!!!!

Hi ladies!
I am still fighting the "dark side" but hopefully it will pass in a couple days. I really hate this feeling. You so want to rationalize out the anxiety but I just can't! I am sure you guys are used to this from me by now! Darn hormones! Maybe I should lay off the caffeine as well but I am a coffee addict.
I got some bad news this morning about a college friend who's Mom is going to die from a blood vessel breaking in her brain. She just lost her Dad two years ago and this was completely out of no where. Her Mom is young like my Mom and I just feel so badly for her. Doesn't help with my state of mind much either.

Off to do errands and then hopefully something fun in the afternoon. We will see. I am working on getting past this mood. Sorry to lay it all on you guys!

Debbie, I'm so sorry about your friend's mom. It is such a heavy load - you want to help, but all you can do is listen and say a prayer. I hope you feel better soon - hey! You are going to your happy place soon!

Debbie...sorry to hear about your friends mom and also about battling the "dark side." I know exactly what you mean. It's so hard to understand why you feel the way you do and you wish you could make it just go away. I deal with those feelings a lot. It's great to be back.

Kara...my DD has be being really rough lately, so I really just hope this is a wake up call for her to cut it out. She hasn't been herself lately at all. I think she might be getting nervous about starting kindergarten. I am glad that I wasn't there. I heard my son crying on the phone and it was really upsetting. When I heard him, I knew he did break his leg. I never heard any of my kids cry like that (and hopefully, never will again.)

I am going to try to catch up on the thread a little. I have to say, everyone seems so nice. I think this thread attracts the nicest ladies!

I just have to share this story, it made me so mad! My DH took off last Wednesday to take my DS to get his cast. When he went back to work on Thursday, a lady that works on his floor (that he barely knows) knocked on his office door. She asked him what happened to my son and then proceeded to tell him that kids don't break bones, that he was at fault for my son's injury, and that he should rethink his parenting style.

What is wrong with people? At one point, DH said that he was downstairs when he heard DS scream and this "lady" said, "I bet you felt horrible didn't you? And you should." I just love how people are so critical and judgemental. She should try watching 3 kids 5 and under and see how easy it is. DH told me this woman is a horrible employee and his coworker has been trying to fire her for some time. Maybe she should concentrate on working and not criticizing other's parenting while at work. Just an idea.

I can't believe some B he doesn't even know would have the adacity to scold your DH for his parenting! Some people :headache:

Cammie and Kara look at your reservations for November.

We changed to ASMu from POFQ and we were orig. paying 2800 now we are paying 1400- deposit I am down to 1200 Tabitha also decided not to go with us. She cannot miss school which makes me so sad. I am saving 1400 Wow what a way to save some dough this includes dining!!!!!!

That's great Jillian!

LOL- glad I'm not the only dirty "old" lady around here.

Maureen sorry about the cast. We had a cast on Beth for six weeks on both legs. It was during winter thankfully. Hope he's got a really good itch stick

Debbie sorry to hear about your friend.

Kara- Way to go. I hope JC is better andyou make your goal.

Jillian that sounds like a boat load of savings.

Off to the YMCA--today is open swim. Then PTO night at school. My first event. Still a little nervous.

How did PTO go? What's with all the "dirty old ladies?" :rotfl2:

Jeff's sister is such a B****!!! I just emailed her and asked for her home phone# and said that Jeff tried calling her on her cell last night but then we realized we didn't have her home #. Things don't change, do they Kara? She will probably always be a self centered B.

I don't really get the Jonas Brothers, either. The other day, my 5 year told me, "I pretty much want to go to a Jonas Brothers concert." So I asked her what songs they sing and she told me, "I don't know, but that's what I need to find out.":rotfl:

Nine Inch Nails???? No wonder you don't "get" the Jonas Bros. :goodvibes I don't get them cuz I'm old and don't have a pre-teen daughter! :rotfl2:

Okay everyone, question of the day: Is the Naked Brothers Band really naked? :scared1: I might need to go to the concert and find out! :rotfl:

Hiya all,
nice to see you're back Maureen.....

I never heard of the Jonas Brothers.....sorry - over here in the sticks we don't get half the "new young things" you lot do - much too clean cut for me.... more an Aerosmith girl myself...

Well it's DH birthday today, so going out to buy a hi def TV that we don't really need, but hey ho, it is the only thing he has really wanted all year long, so can't complain really... (I got the trip to Florida after all....:goodvibes).

Had bad family news yesterday too- my sis - mother of the cutie niece in the holiday pic.... has left her hubby , just took the kids and went home to mum... The usual money troubles -he's self employed (not putting in any effort to get work) and spending it all in the pub....
Makes me feel guilty - would she have been able to leave sooner if we weren't staying there on hols?? Even more of a guilt trip when she said she saw the way me and DH and kids were so affectionate with each other and knew she'd never have that - ever.... Then she made me cry - said the photo we took when we left would be the last one ever of them together as a family......
At least she has a head on her shoulders and has sorted out accommodation to go to and benefits to keep her going...... Not going to be much fun though - 3 kids 11/11(no, not twins!!!!)/2, not much money and no job - no job ever in fact - she left school and got married and had kids..... I wish she'd said something when we were there, but maybe she was still working it through....

I don't know, DH brother split from his wife a couple of months ago, Dsis from her hubby. My background is my parents and all their brothers and sisters and my dad's parents all split too..... so I'm hoping hubby's heritage wins out.... only his brother is getting divorced - oh, but, his mums sister's kids all got divorced too...:sad2:. What is it with this country - 40% of marriages end in divorce now!!! Sorry for the depressing whinge...

Tessa

Hi Tessa! I'm up, so good morning! :flower3: I'm sorry to hear about your DSIS. Mine is filing for divorce, too! In our family it's unusual, but in this country in general, we have about 40% too. :sad2: I'm glad you have a good relationship with your DH!

Hi Tammie - thanks for that - can always guarantee to get some "tea and sympathy" on here - that's why I love this board so much... I don't know anyone now who's family is not touched by divorce.... so sad.

What on earth is the time over there - you are up early - or is it late????:rotfl:

Tessa

So I'm the only one on here that doesn't see what the big deal is about those Jonas brothers. :confused3 I think they just remind me of Hansen! :lmao:

Tell you what - you ladies HAVE 'EM.

I'll take Jon Bon Jovi... :thumbsup2

That man just gets better and better with time.

Renee- I knew you were my long lost sister:goodvibes Bon Jovi I LOVE him. I try to make it to a concert whenever he is in town missed the last one though. I am not sure who the jonas brothers are? I guess I am out of the loop, but if they are like Hansen I am not missing much.

Tessa- I am sorry to hear about the divorces in your family they are so tough on everyone.

Kara- We are making monkey bread tomorrow :woohoo: I am so excited. I haven't baked in a long time.

Debbie- I am sorry you are having the blues. I had those days too before I went on Meds. for me it was just the right thing. If you need anything let me know. I hope you are feeling better today.

Well Cammie is not on to give the weather so I guess I will

It is a gloomy yucky day here and we are expecting a nice storm. I am so sick of this rain I wish the sun would come out. Badookies first summer he can run around and it is raining everyday.

My Brother gave my parents the news last night he is enlisting in the National guard. I cannot believe my baby brother will be in the service. I wish the darn war would end he is only 18 and it will pay for college.

Okay everyone, question of the day: Is the Naked Brothers Band really naked? :scared1: I might need to go to the concert and find out! :rotfl:

OK, now you're scaring me!!! They are a CHILD band, on Nickolodean I think! :rotfl2:

Hi Tammie - thanks for that - can always guarantee to get some "tea and sympathy" on here - that's why I love this board so much... I don't know anyone now who's family is not touched by divorce.... so sad.

Tessa

I think I was the only one out of my group of high school friends who had both parents still married to each other. :sad2:

"Tea and sympathy" - love it!

My Brother gave my parents the news last night he is enlisting in the National guard. I cannot believe my baby brother will be in the service. I wish the darn war would end he is only 18 and it will pay for college.

Lots of prayers for your brother and your family! It's such a scary time right now, but hopefully things will return to a semi-peaceful state soon! :thumbsup2

OK, so here I sit with a big ole hunk of monkey bread - it's so addictive! But I"m starting back on JC on Monday so I need to gorge myself this weekend - ok, so not the best way to look at it, but c'mon!!!

Not much time today - got lots to do between now and noon when I take off work to pick up Ally and get her to orientation. I was gonna bring her home first for a bath, but since she'll be swimming this morning I think I"ll just take a change of clothes for her and get her hair brushed. I always like her to make a good first impression both at orientation/meet the teacher and then on the 1st day of school.

Anybody else's kids watch "I Carly?" Ally has really gotten into it, and also Zoey 101. I can't stand to watch Britney Spears little hobag sister, but the show doesn't seem too bad. It's just so hard right now! The one show I will NOT let her watch is "Fairly Oddparents."

TGIF!!

Debbie - I too, agree about Joe Jonas needing an eyebrow waxing. He's cute, but IMO, he needs one! Zac wins out w/me! (dirty old lady in me talking!) I have those talks all of the time w/my girls about how blessed and fortunate they/we are. I just found out that one of Meg's band buddies in our carpool's mom is not receiving child support from her ex, and she has no money! I was giving her a hard time about volunteering for our first real band event tomorrow night - a potluck and fall 1/2time preview show, and she told me she had to, because her son is on scholorship w/band. They have NO money until she gets paid later in the month. It makes me so sad. It's a hefty fee to be involved in some of these school activities. Our kids can just take it for granted. That, and all of the new back to school stuff they're getting. They also get the talks about being mean to other kids, and having empathy for their situations.

Maureen - That lady at your hubby's office was awful. We feel guilty enough as parents, and don't need others making us feel more guilty. My range of music is wide also. I like just about all music, except for the rap. How cute about DD's JB concert comment!

Renee - Sounds like we are all having "the talk" w/our kids. So Nicolas loves experiments? Have you ever gotten one of those butterfly gardens? I always wanted to do that for the girls, but never did.

Kara - We need to start a BSIL club. I have one, too. Never liked her, never will. DH and she were adopted. There is no way they could have come from the same pool. It's that bad. I am just glad that she lives far away. Did you get any scoop on Ally's teacher?

Tammie - Naked Brothers Band is NOT naked (thank goodness!). They're a bunch of little boys. It's a cute show that the kids watch. A friend of Tay's mom won't let her friend watch it because of the name. She hasn't checked it out. It's harmless. YOU are SuperMIL! I hope that your kids appreciate you!

Tessa - Sad about your sis. It's better that she find happiness for she and her children. I wish them the best. Maybe things will change and BIL will get his act together. We haven't gone hi-def yet! I am waiting until our tv dies, if I can. It has a great pic, but nothing beats that hi-def!! Is Olympic mania going on over there, too?

Jillian - Sorry about your brother and the military. It's such a hard time right now. I cannot understand the huge sacrifice that they make for our country, but are so thankful and greatful that they do. Is there a baby yet??

Cammie - Are tennis lessons cancelled again because of rain? We are finally getting some! Good rain! It's in the forecast for the next few days. I am hoping that it stays there, but stops for our band event tomorrow night.

I stopped by Dunkin Donuts for coffee this AM, and had to get a kolache and triple chocolate donut, which could cure any kind of blues! The DD coffee is good!, and I am a Starbucksaholic. Someone on our thread has mentioned it a couple of times, so I had to give it a try!

I've seen gas for $3.41! Yoo, hoo!

How about that Michael Phelps?! It brings me back to when I was 14, watching Eric Heiden and the US Hockey team win in Lake Placid. It's just fun.

I am giddy because it's the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:
