Debbie, I swear, you crack me up. I'm sending you a present, RIGHT NOW!!!!

Did you get it???

Well, they should be getting close to the inlaws' house now. Just waiting for a call around 3ish........

Trying to decide what to do tonight with no child!!!! Now get your minds out of the gutter!!! :rotfl2: We have 5 free nights for THAT! :rotfl2:

Today the real feel is supposed to be 108! I just ran to the store and guess what? My a/c quit working in the car!!! :scared1: I called Jeff and told him to buy me a new car. His response? "Yeah, I'm walking into a Lexus dealer, let me just *** out the money right now." :lmao: In all honesty, we've talked about getting one of the big SUVs like a Tahoe or something that roll through the auction every week. They are literally selling right now for about 1/2 what they would have gone for 6 months ago. And since I drive about 300 miles a month, the gas mileage isn't an issue for us. And with what we could get for my car (2003 - 110,000 miles) and trade in for a 2005 with about 60,000 miles, it would only cost us about $2000. I think I need to spend that on my car now. It needs a tune up, and now the a/c needs fixed. So it would definitely be worth it to get a newer car with less miles!

OK, off for awhile. Ya know what else I forgot to send to SC with Ally? Her bicycle helmet!!! They have a bike for her and I'm not sure if the helmet they have still fits! I swear, I feel like a horrible mother - I forgot everything!

Thanks! I feel so hip now!:rotfl2:

We have an SUV. I know it seems so dumb with gas and all but Mark felt we were getting a great deal on it and I just let him run with it.....
Plus he needs it for work and when we do Wisconsin. I hate the car payment though!

I've been dealing with no a/c in my minivan for over a week now; ex bought it back after his last weekend with the girls and didn't tell me it wasn't working!:headache: I took it in to the dealer this a.m and there is a puncture in the a/c line; looks like a rock kicked up through the grill and punctured it. Soooo, I have to go back tomorrow to get it fixed - $700! Oh yeah - who do you think I'm sticking with that bill?

Kara - What were you saying about those bike helmets?;) I know we all managed just fine w/out them but all I think is it just takes one fall -- :sad2: !

Debbie - I was confused; thought you were away until Wed.! I can't keep up with you woman! And, yes, I agree - think our Dis meet needs to be in Sept.

Ok - I swear, today is the day I download some old Disney photos to my pre-TR; and maybe some here!

Jeff is seeing a trend where people are trading in SUVs that get 15 mpg for cars that get 25mpg. They are taking less thatn they owe for the SUV and somehow thinking that it's worth it. OK, let's have a math lesson. Assuming the average person drives 20 miles one way to work. Then let's throw in another 10 miles per day. That's 250 miles/week (not counting weekends). That's 10 gallons of gas in their "new" car, vs 17 gallons in their old car. At $4/gallon they're saving $28.00/week. But they have just lost $5K in their trade (seriously, this is what a lot of people are doing!). It will take them 178 weeks to recoup that money, or almost 3.5 years!!! By then their new car will have depriciated so much, it's a loser deal. OK, that was Kara's math lesson for the day! :lmao:

So Debbie, I think you did the right thing, especially if you got a great deal. And gas WILL go down again.

I swear! I always make Ally wear hers!!! And I know times were soooo different when we were all kids, less cars on the roads, etc. And you're right about it only takes one time. Jeff drives me nuts with his attitude of "it can't happen to me." He leaves doors unlocked, etc. I tell him that's what all those parents of abducted kids used to say....

Debbie - I was confused; thought you were away until Wed.! I can't keep up with you woman! And, yes, I agree - think our Dis meet needs to be in Sept.

I agree, I thought you were gone til mid-week.

So apparently your "other" thread is more important than we are???
:snooty:

I went for the weekend and then I left my Mom up there with her friend. I will rejoin her with my friend Wednesday to Sunday so I am only home today and tomorrow. I know...crazy!

You guys are going to make fun of me but my Live 365 has the monorail spiel on and it makes me TOO happy! The ding of the doors opening gives me goose bumps! Hurry go turn it on before it ends!

NEVER!

And to prove it, I'm sharing my first old pic. with you guys........I love this one of Lauren with Cruella - she stayed in character the whole time and just kept asking Lauren about "how to find the puppies"! Lauren was just looking at her in amazement!

Debbie, you're right about my in-laws being coo coo and that's why stuff happens to them all the time. I'm serious - they have NO common sense. Great! My baby is with them all week.....

And they misprounce stuff all the time! Drives me nuts. The white sea birds that you see along the coast - EGRETS. My FIL calls them "ingrets." It is just one of those things that really gets under my skin. I was an English major so I hate that. Jeff said something the other day that made me say, "stop talking like your parents!" :rotfl: Once MIL was referring to (another of her fine parenting days) a time when Jeff was little and his picked up a hot (she meant a charcoal BRIQUETTE) but she called it a "brisket." WTH? And these aren't slips of the tongue, because they will repeat the same thing over and over.

They still can't pronounce my mom's name. It's Era Lynn. Era is pronounced "EAR-uh." And her middle name is Lynn. They call her "erleen." They've only known her for 15 years!!!

Oh Cammie, look at that precious little girl!!!!!! How adorable is that???

OK, I'll let you off the hook.... for now! Guess I'll just have to head over to your other thread.... (which I do anyway! :thumbsup2 ).

Crazy! I don't have perfect English but when people speak with "Dem's and don'ts" it drives me nuts!
Our one friend speaks with TERRIBLE English actually it is two familes but we are very close to both (unrealted). It takes everything in me not to correct it! I mean I think everyone slips a little slang in here and there or has one or two mistakes that they can't lose but when it makes you sound really dumb it drives me nuts!

My ex's father would always call Amanda "A-man-der". I freakin' cringed every single time! :headache: (you don't even want to know what I called him!)

So precious. I love it!

I have another friend who's inlaws don't like what she named the kids so they changed it to the way they like it!!!!! And SHE let them get away with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Debbie - did you watch BB last night where Dan was trying to teach Michelle how to say "water?" It was pretty funny!

See? That's just not right. Those names aren't THAT unusual. I'd be sooo mad!

It was funny! And if you watched BB After Dark you would see that everyone is turning on each other and I feel bad because they seem to be mad about Dan!

I Know! They are just idiots!

Yay! Ally is safe and sound home in SC now. I need to call her BFF back there and talk to the mom about getting them together this week. I feel better now!

Debbie - I keep getting on the BB thread here but there's too many spoilers and I know who's nominated and who wins POV before I even watch it. But I can't help myself!
