Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Tina - Yeah for you on the shopping! :thumbsup2I am so glad your daughter got her AG doll. We really do love them at our house. I believe they are of such high quality, and will be keepsakes for years to come.

Newfiescotian - I am a little worried about flu season this year too, but it's not worth making yourself sick over. Just be cautious, and drill it into the kids' heads that they must was their hands constantly. I will catch myself grabbing a railing occasionally, but will be quick with the antibacterial lotion right after. I can only watch the kids when we are together, and just hope that they are being cautious when I am not with them. We are getting our flu shots this weekend.

BabyB - I am so sorry to hear about your WDW trip, but glad to hear that DC might be an option. I would love to go there and take my girls. I haven't been since 8th grade, and know that I would have a much greater appreciation of it now.

Shelly - Hang in there.

Laura - Sorry to hear about the water softener incident. Uggh. I wonder if we could trade our husbands in for something good, like newer, younger versions, or better yet - a girls only trip to WDW!:rotfl:

but y'all are like my sisters!!!!

Ditto! Have fun!!!! I can't wait to see your pics! Good news about potential family trip cancellation!:rotfl2: I loved the shirts you made! I love the revolving tickers! How many do you have? 10?:lmao: (Just jealous!;)) Did any more come out of the talks of a potential move for you all?

hahhaha thanks Tammie, i do fancy doing a TR but never think anyone would read :cool1:

Yes, we would!!! Good job on selling your stuff for the WDW pot! We need to have a garage sale, but I am too lazy.

Whoever was asking - I'm hopeless at remembering a thread of more than 2 people, sorry.... Planet Hollywood and the Lego shop are quite close to each other, and it is flat, so I wouldn't see any problems.....

That was me. Thanks, and thanks to everyone who commented. I believe that I settled Darrin's concerns about the long walk. I know we've walked as far as Raglan Road, and possibly even further. I know we'll be fine. He just needs to leave the WDW planning up to me. Hee, hee!

TESSA - CONGRATS ON THE TICKER!!!:thumbsup2

Hi Debbie, Tammie, Lorrie....Happy weekend, everyone!:grouphug:

Nope, no word yet on a move. Jeff goes to Dallas next week a day before the other GMs and they are wining and dining (and golfing!) him. But he doesn't think anything will come of it - we are VERY upside down in our house since we bought right before the bottom fell out. And FL was especially hard hit! So I don't know if the company would be willing to absorb that cost........ If so, that would be the ONLY good thing about the move - basically bailing us out of this house. And there are some great deals in SC, too!

So..... my sis and I were talking yesterday and her DH agreed to a big family trip in 2011 to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary! I'm so excited!!! Already checking into renting points, etc. And I've already got designers working on personalized t-shirt designs!!!

This trip won't be like the one with Jeff's family. We will NOT be spending a lot of time together. We will decide on ADRs and that is it. My BIL is a PITA, and very much a control freak. It's his way or no way, so my sis basically said that she doesn't want to plan a lot of time together or he'll ruin it. Nice guy, but it's true. So I think first 1/2 of first day we all spend together, then the last 1/2 of last day. Otherwise, we'll just play it by ear!

We will probably wait and surprise my p's on their actual anniversary which is June, and we'll go in December. Yes, that's over 2 years away and I'm already planning!!!

So, Pam, maybe I'll just add another ticker for you! ;):rotfl2:

i can't even read the tickers you currently have! HAHAHA. I can just imagine you guys in your ugs sweating. I could use them today. My toes are cold because it is 50 and raining. Autumn is here.....

Pam, I don't think I want to trade my hubby. I 've put too much time in training this one....

DC is a fun trip - lots of walking, but very interesting.

Happy Saturday!

Today we're doing doll crafts because it's freezing! We woke up to 45 degree weather outside and 65 degrees inside. We're not going to turn the heat on utnil November so sweaters and bathrobes!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

OK GANG! Ready for my exciting news! We are going to drive to WDW for two nights while we are in Florida! They were offering a club level deal to boot so we are going to stay at our favorite home away from home!!!!!!!! Yes, the Grand Floridian!!!!! We are justifying the stay there because we are only going to go to MNSSHP and the rest of the time we will be utilizing GF! Plus, the discounted price at club level means we won't really even need to pay for extra food! I think we even get drinks! I am very excited and the price was right! AND I am going to use Disney rewards to offset the trip cost as well. Am I crazy or what! I am so excited!

ugh - I've been so busy entertaining the little man that I feel like I barely get online anymore! Less than 3 weeks until the baby arrives...had my weekly appt. today and the doctor wants me to go for an U/S for a weight check on the baby...the doctor thinks she might be "large"...it's a far cry from my DS - he was 6lb 11oz and a week late. Hope everyone is doing well - I'm going to go back read now. :)

Wow! That baby will be here before you know it! Things will be a changing, huh! Thinking about you.........

im sorry that your trip got canceled. It hurts. But a trip to DC sounds great
I've decided that a wet floor is on par with a poopy floor. I hate waking up and finding a major project that needs to be done. The water softner cycled all over the floor last night. Of course it got on the carpet that I just had cleaned. UGHHHH! Tim moved the discharge hose and didn't reconnect it. Love those husbands.
TGIF!!!

YUCK! Don't you hate when you fell like you are finally getting somewhere and then stuff like that happens!!!

Baby B Sorry about the WDW disappointment!!!!!

I bet Kara is having a great time!!!!!!

Hi Tammie, Erin, Tessa, Pam, Tina........

you stink! J/K love that you got club level. I am really happy for you guys. It will be fun. Are you only doing the party?

btw sherwin williams paint stinks. I bought top of the line cleanable paint--yeah right! Katie got eye shadow on the wall and it won't come off ughhhhh!!!!!

OK, so I'm here, and not very happy right now.

Shall I begin? Now y'all know that I love everything Disney, right? I rarely complain about anything here because, well, I just love it all! And even a bad experience at Disney is better than most good experiences other places....

However, I have had my first very bad experience at Disney, and it's called F&W Festival. Absolutely, positively NOT for kids! It was a drunk fest! And soooo crowded I was losing patience FAST!

So we had a great day today t DHS - then had our tea at GF, came back to the resort, hung out at the pool for awhile, then got ready to go to Epcot to sample around the world.

We get on the boat to Epcot, and a chick about 5 months preggers gets on and sits by Ally. She's wearing a bridal veil adorned with..... CONDOMS!!! And she's got a big plastic cup of wine. Did I mention the 5 months preggers? So all her friends get on next, and they sit there and proceed to discuss stories from their husbands' bachelor parties, strip clubs, etc. It took everything in me to NOT say something to them, but it was all going over Ally's head and I thought if I said something then she would ask questions. As we got off the boat at Epcot, the couple that was sitting behind me said, "drinking for two, huh?" I overheard them and we proceeded to discuss how inappropriate their conversations were, etc.

Anyway, we then entered my favorite park by way of the IG, and it was wall to wall drunks! You know how crowded WS is after Illuminations? Yeah, it was that bad at 7pm! So we got our Kim Possible FP and headed around looking for something yummy to eat. We were shoved, run over, etc, and the lines for the kiosks were 15-20 people long! We heard horrible language, saw big groups of people behaving badly. Just a horrible experience!

Now I'm no prude, and I like to partake in an ocassional adult bevvie (okay, so I love to drink around the World!) but I cannot imagine behaving this way at a family resort! It was like non stop bachelor parties, and pub crawling! Nuts!

So we ate at Cantina de San Angel and Ally and I decided to skip Illuminations and get the heck outta Dodge. I wanted to walk, she wanted to take the boat. Thank goodness we went with her plan cause the bottom fell out about halfway back here! So we got a bit wet from the boat to the resort, otherwise we made it, unlike the partiers at Epcot!

And my review of the Dolphin? Never EVER again! I will stick with Disney owned properties from now on. I miss the Disney service. The only good thing is the location. Love the Epcot resort location. Otherwise, it's obviousl it's not a Disney resort.

OK, I'm outta here, I'll have more details later! Tomorrow heading to MK in the morning, lunch at CP, then meeting Ellen and Pods at Epcot in the afternoon, before heading home around 5ish.

Wow, it's storming out now.... Hopefully Illuminations got off before the lightning started. Gotta run now!

Whoo Hoo! :woohoo:Whoo Hoo! :woohoo:

A last minute trip to WDW - How fun!:yay::yay::yay::yay: Club level at GF - Priceless!:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

Oh, that's horrible! I can't believe people are acting like that. :sad2: I guess I'll be sure to skip that one. Do you think it was more locals looking for a party, or the regular tourists?

I hope you have a better day tomorrow! Have fun at MK!

Poor Kara - that sounds awful! I don't like it when people forget they are at a FAMILY amusement park. They just think it's about booze and parties. That's too bad.

Deb - I'm so jealous you're staying at GF I've always wanted to stay there. Have fun!

Just spent 2 hours playing AG dolls with my girls. We played store, then had a tea party and did blindfold makeovers. What fun! I finished a gorgeous purple fleece coat and 2 asian shirts Friday. They will be xmas presents for DD10. Working on knitting a sweater dress - haven't knitted in over 3 years so we'll see how it comes out.

Thanks for the congrats! I swear I am addicted to that place! When it comes to WDW my priorities get so clouded! Seriously I felt REALLY guilty until I realized I had almost 400.00 in Disney Rewards to use. Now I just have to pray the weather is good since we only have 3 days and only ONE MNSSHP!

I have been fighting a bad sinus infection this week. It just kills me. Tried the whole Nedi pot (sp) think to no avail. STILL battling Elizabeth with the homework. I really feel she needs extra reinforcement with her reading & spelling and she just fights us on it every step of the way. The latest is getting her to know when she can sound out a word and when she needs to just learn it as a sight word. She wants to sound out what and they and just struggles! I must not have worked with her enough. I always new I was pretty laid back with the academics but I just never wanted to push anything on her. Well now I regret it!

Had a lovely time at both my Mom and the other sides showers for my brother. We love his future wife! That wedding will be here before you know it!

Tina...glad you are all enjoying the AG dolls! I am always so jealous of your sewing abilities!!! Elizabeth has Elizabeth and Samantha.

Tina, it's so sweet how you're playing with your girls! I know that's why God didn't bless me with little girls - I don't know how to do tea parties!:rotfl2: Oops, guess I'll have to learn, I have a granddaughter,

Debbie, I hope you feel better soon. Maybe Elizabeth just needs to learn things a different way - oh, you know that stuff - maybe the normal stuff just isn't clicking with her.

We had a nice weekend - Friday night I went to a scrapbook night and potluck at the base - made some really cute cards with some STAMPS I have - guess I'll have to post a pic.

Sat we went out to Idaho City, a little mining town turned museum - lots of history and original buildings - delicious lunch at Trudy's Kitchen, and hiked up the hill to a church built in 1863. I forgot my camera, so we're going back next weekend. We came home and watched "Confessions of a Shopaholic" - funny movie:rotfl2: Sad part is, I REALLY understood the heroine:eek:

Today, we met Ryan and Dana and little Mason for brunch at a Basque pub downtown - I took Mason for a walk while we waited for our food, and he was stopping and smelling flowers and naming the colors on all of them - so cute! Then we went for a hike along the original Oregon Trail with some of Jim's friends from work. They have this part of the trail fenced off, and you can walk right up to original wagon ruts - amazing - I don't know how anyone ever made it to Oregon or even this far - now I know why the people in the West are different - their ancestors HAD to be! :goodvibes

Tonight, I'm going crazy, because I realized I have some DVC points we won't use next year, so we'll have points we have to use in 2011 and NO PLANS on what to do with them! :scared1: I know we want a family vacation with all or kids in 2012, but what to do in 2011? So I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure it out.

We could do a week at VB in a 2 bdrm - but who to take with us?
We could do a 3 day cruise and one of us would be paid for. Then we'd have to do a few days in the parks and pay OOP for the room at SOG.
Or we could do 3 days concierge at AKV and the 3 day cruise in a lesser cabin. So relaxing! :cloud9:
We could do a week concierge in a 1 bdrm at AKV - (this is sounding better and better!)

I guess I should finish planning our Hawaii cruise before I plan 2011:rotfl2:

It's just what us CFWWs do, right?
