Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

back to the land of the living. I am back to walking. The ice and meds worked. I dread the day that it doesn't. I got hit by a car when I was 15. I was running across a highway. Nothing like having a constant reminder of doing something dumb. But still lucky I wasn't hurt more than a torn ligament. I walked away from the accident with a concusion and a banged up knee. Oh well. I'm still alive.

I'm caught up but don't have time to comment on everyone so just a q

I could say so many things right now.... :rolleyes1 and I only joke because you're okay! But let me just tell you. I don't know what the surgery would entail, but my mom just had a double knee replacement - as much pain as she was in for 2 months, she is so happy now that she's talking about having her hip done next. And she's lost weight because she can actually walk now!!!

So don't fear the surgery if it could make your quality of life better in the long run.

How is it Disney have made me happy and cross all at one time

Happy ..
Disney announced that it will continue its popular "What Will You Celebrate" promotion through 2010.

Cross ...
One thing that will change about 2010's celebration is that Disney is no longer offering a gift card in place of a park ticket on your birthday. In 2009, guests had the option on their birthdays of choosing a one-day park ticket, a $75 Disney gift card, or a special fastpass. Next year, the gifts offered will be a one-day park ticket, the special fastpass, an EarHat figurine with exclusive trading pins, or the option to donate your park ticket to a participating charity.

Grrgrgrggr so what am i supposed to do for Cj .. We buy all park tickets ahead of time here before we go so 1 day ticket not overly helpful ... special fastpass, well she'll be the only 1 with it out of 18 of us so that's not great either ... Earhat figurine with pins, great, cute but not overly useful ... I'm really hacked off i was hoping this would carry on but was hoping for the giftcard thought that would be great for b'day pressies for herself!!!!! :headache::headache:

The fastpass is good for up to 6 people I think, though I have heard of them making a few allowances, but for groups of 8. Would that make it better? I hate they aren't doing the gift card! I bet too many are opting that one. I know I am. :cool1:

As far as I know it can be a different group each ride. They make you choose from a list - 3 thrill rides, 3 "lesser rides", But, you could do all that in the am before your real "fastpasses" crank into gear. I'd think she'd feel pretty special cutting to the front of the lines. I hope so!

first good freeze last night.

excited on the free offers, keeping my fingers crossed that they will do that in 2011.

I pm'd some websites Tessa have a look and let me know if anything else i can help with hahahha
And thanks for the encouragement on the Trippie, i might just do it ;)

Again thanks for the encouragement on a trippie :)
Market again tomorrow and friday this week, i was at them all weekend too, with this stinking head cold i have they were not the most fun, sunday i was up at half 4 to go .. this week i don't think any will go in the pot, what is it about this time of year when letters just constantly come home asking for money for 1 thing and another :confused3

Aww how sweet, however i did have to read twice .. First i thought, hmm does Lorrie think i am some freakish science experiment :confused3 then remembered us saying we both watched it :lmao:
I wish i was well, i have this stupid stinking head cold at the mo, not ill just bleugh ya know

Hi Debbie, fab news about getting to go to WDW :thumbsup2
Laura take care of your knee, try and rest it and BTW i looove the pics of the girls hair on fb :thumbsup2
Kara i am so sorry your time at Epcot was as horrid as it sounded hope MK did Disney proud
Tammie sounds like you're still having great fun away

Hi to everyone else :flower3:

Erin, I hope you're feeling better - those Fall colds stink.

Hey gals! I'm a bit behind in my reading, but I've just started my new TR from this weekend!

All in all it was still a good weekend. To sum it up:
Didn't like the Dolphin
F&W on a weekend night is no place for kids
Crystal Palace is a ZOO especially when it rains and people linger inside to avoid going out and you get sat 45 minutes after your ADR - it was a mob scene out there!
But Ally was chosen by Piglet to prance around CP with him AND she was chosen by Capt Jack for Pirate Tutorial (but she said NO to him!!! :scared1:).
We finally met Silvermist after 3 different times and a total of 4 hours waiting in the fairy line!!!
Tea at GF was awesome!!! Until Ally dumped hot cocoa in her lap and then cried because she was trying so hard to be a lady and ended up embarassed.

I'm heading over there - I'm glad it was fun in spite of a few glitches

I can worry with you guys again!!!! were going to washigtion dc in june now, Talk about WORRY!!!!

Yeah! I'm glad you have a trip to look forward to!

So it looks like you can get a FP for some of your group - I guess you could let one group do FP for some things and then rotate:confused3 Of course since Chloe is the reason, she should get to go on all the FP rides. If you got there at RD, you could get on everything and then use the FPs for people who want to repeat some things.

Wish my WDW were free. My payment is due Friday. I've been holding on to my money as long as I can.:) DH wants a Bass Pro rewards card! No way! I am seriously considering the Disney one. I pay the bills, so I get to choose!:rotfl: Lorrie, I am sorry your dad is not doing well.

I DO have a WDW trip planned!!:cool1: Nov 19-26 at POP. We are 51 days away, and DD11 asked why we haven't made our countdown calendar yet. We've made them at 100+ days on our past trips. Things have just been kind of crazy. I do need to slow down and enjoy my planning more. It's going to be here and gone before I know it!!

Tina - How fun about the blindfolded makeovers! What a fun party idea. Glad you are having fun w/your AG dolls. Do your girls read the books? They are awesome. Our Barnes and Noble store has an American Girl Club one evening a month, where the girls talk about the books and bring their dolls. My girls don't do it now, but have enjoyed it in the past. Did I miss your WDW trip report?

Kara - Sorry to hear about your F&WF experience w/Ally. Glad to hear MK was better. Refusing Captain Jack?? You should have stepped in, telling him it was your duty as a mother.:lovestruc

Tammie - Great about the extra DVC points, but I do not feel the least bit sorry for your dilemna! What a good problem to have!;) It really sounds like you are having a blast!

Laura - Sorry about your knee. I hope that you don't have to have surgery. That stinks.

Cammie - I miss you, too!! (I know you didn't tell ME you miss me, but someone else said they miss you, and I miss you, too!)

Lydia - I was going to ask if you were the girl w/the condoms on your hair that Kara ran into, but I guess not...I am glad that you had fun. Do you do trip reports?

Erin - I know what you mean about the money for school. It's been one fundraiser after another for us, and since I don't want to ask others to buy, I end up buying a lot. All of the teachers at Tay's school are getting peanut brittle from the fundraiser for Christmas! I killed two birds w/one stone. We've also had band expenses (for in band now!), and the marching band expenses are :scared1:. Darrin had to take his car for repairs yesterday - $278. It is ALWAYS SOMETHING. Could be worse, could be worse...I keep telling myself! I really do know that it could be. I feel that we are very blessed. I hope that you get over your cold quickly. They are so annoying!

Tessa - Great about the walking job. I think I would love a job like that! As long as the weather is pretty!

We've been fighting w/Megan failing Chemistry. She is such a smart girl, but just doesn't apply herself academically as much as she should. She is fighting a bad cold right now (thankfully no fever), and wants to stay home. I can't let her. I told her she needs to suck it up and go to school. I told her if she were passing Chemistry, I would let her stay home. I feel like a horrible mother, but she cannot afford to miss class. I am struggling with knowing that we might be spreading the germs...I told her yesterday that I may not be able to take her out of school in Nov for WDW. The girls will miss 2 days right before Thanksgiving break.

We are enjoying cool mornings and evenings -- 58F this AM!, but the days are still pretty warm. I am hoping for a cool Halloween. It's on Saturday this year. Whoo, hoo! I need to pull out the decorations and get moving on costumes this weekend. I am behind. Story of my life!

I'm sorry Megan is having troubles with Chemistry. It's hard to watch your kids struggle with something you know they should be able to do.

On the walkway from Contemporary to BLT...

Cute pic, Lydia! Love the location!

Yikes! I'm glad you lived - and I'm glad your knee is doing a little better, hope it continues to do better.

first good freeze last night.

excited on the free offers, keeping my fingers crossed that they will do that in 2011.

I hope for some good offers in 2011 too! A deal on park tics would be good - when you have DVC, most offers don't apply to you - I feel like it should - you pay a lot for your points - you are paying for your rooms, too, just at a different time.

I was up until after 12 last night, and the stupid alarm went off at 5:30:mad: Jim was on the couch because his shoulder was hurting. I thought I'd hang out here and try to go get sleepy again, but it's not happening - I have a really busy day, I'd love a little more sleep.

Last week it was 90 here - 88 on Mon - now about 55 for the rest of the week. I think Summer is over. It must be time to start planning some trips to get me through the Winter!

Ok so on the fast passes you all think i could get 6 ... Lorrie how many rides do you getthem for? You said we can choose but is it only 3? I'm just not sure it's such a great thing for us really. I'm still miffed really the gift card would have been perfect for her, i might let her choose and am sure she'll probably choose the earhat pin thingy but i guess its her choice hahhaha
However when i looked at the site it didn't mention it was carrying on to 2010 it still says finishes end of 2009 so we'll just have to wait and see i guess :confused3

Yes Tammie i am actually feeling a little better today, i was at the market not too early and we have done well today, more for the WDW fund ;)

Ok now another thing i need help on
We can book our ADR's Oct 27th along with everyone else however i don't think the park hours for Feb will be out till Nov :headache: now i think i have 3options
1)Wait till Nov and hope we can get them
2)See last Feb's hours and hope they are the same
3)Book them and hope we can change them if days aren't good
What do you guys think?????
Also i heard T-rex took ADR's 6 months out which means i can do that one now woooooohooooooo i will ring direct and cross fingers as that's for Cj's b'day dinner for 21 of us :scared1:

/
Erin - go ahead and book meals as soon as you can - and check 2009's hours to try to compare the days. Also, when I made my ADRs for December, the park hours had just been released, so maybe you'll get lucky and the hours will be out!!!

i would book the ADR's based on the hours from last year. I'd hate to miss something because I waited. But then I am a control freak.

I forgot there will 21 of you. Yes do it and just pray for the best.

I am already bugging out about my January trip with another family...there will be 8 of us, 4 adults and a 4, 4, 3, and 2 y/o. Am thinking about making a tentative itinerary based on last year's EMH/park hours. What do you control freaks and worry warts think?

Erin - I sooooo want to meet up with you! What are your dates again?

Erin,
Someone may have answered, but I found this -

Disney's Special Birthday FASTPASS® Cards+. Save time waiting in line and get immediate entrance to the FASTPASS® return lines of 6 select FASTPASS® attractions at the theme park you visit that day. No need to return later in the day to ride. Plus, when you select this option, you can also receive cards for up to 5 additional members of your party

We are doing our FPs at Magic Kingdom on Darrin's bday. I hope that it works out for you. It looks like you have some fun surprises set for CJ's bday!!! It will be special regardless!!

I just skimmed at lunch, but will pop in later to chat.

Happy Hump Day (and it's almost over!). I am the biggest time rusher, but only the weekdays!, evenings not included!;)

i think that is a great idea. The hours tend to be fairly close. With the little ones it is better to over plan than under plan. I always have several scenarios to work with. I can do this in my normal world :rotfl: heck to the no.

Aww thanks for researching Pam
I think i have decided of sorts that i will give the fp's a miss though hahah only because there are so many of us and that doesn't seem like a big b'day treat for Cj if ya know what i mean, i think she will love the Earhat with pins and it's something she can keep to remember
Happy Hump day to you too :lmao: makes me laugh everytime

I walked away from the accident with a concusion and a banged up knee. Oh well. I'm still alive.

We are all glad that you are. Also glad you're feeling better!

I just saw the commercial for "Give a Day, Get a Day". Taye Diggs...yum!

Can't wait until the Private Practice premiere! Do you watch!?

first good freeze last night.

I am extremely jealous. Although nice mornings and evenings, except when there's humidity, it's still too warm here during the day for this time of year, IMO.

Last week it was 90 here - 88 on Mon - now about 55 for the rest of the week. I think Summer is over. It must be time to start planning some trips to get me through the Winter!

I am extremely jealous. So, will you join the rotating ticker club w/Kara?:lmao:

2)See last Feb's hours and hope they are the same

I vote for #2. Glad you are feeling better!!

But then I am a control freak.

And that's exactly why we all get along so well!!

Am thinking about making a tentative itinerary based on last year's EMH/park hours. What do you control freaks and worry warts think?

That's what I would do.

2 and a half weeks woooohoooooo

 LUCKY!

I can do this in my normal world :rotfl: heck to the no.

What's a normal world, Laura??:rotfl2:

I am giddy. I am enjoying almost an hour of pure quietness, while Tay is outside, Megan is in her room, and Darrin ran to the store (No, don't be shocked--we all know that's not something he does by himself. He wanted to pick up a pair of slacks and a belt. He's outgrowing some of his. We need to hit the gym.). I am on the computer in the evening, undisturbed!:woohoo: Have a great evening, all!!

Hi Lorrie, Debbie, Tina, BabyB, Cammie, Tessa, and anyone else I have forgotten in this almost senior moment.:flower3:

Lydia - I love your blog. I cannot figure out how to comment on it, and I am too done to try to figure it out.

Megan is better -- was almost better yesterday, and is much better today. She doesn't have N1H1 (I didn't think that she did), but one of the boys in our band carpool does. I may have already said that today. I have procrastinated on getting our flu shots, but plan on taking the girls Saturday. I am sure there will be a nice, long line at Walgreens...

I finished my WDW trip countdown calendar. Whoo, hoo!
