Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Hiya all,

Lydia - my goodness - get packing woman - I'm thinking about it and we have OVER a year to go!!!!!!

Well, I BOOKED!!

Hopefully you will see the additional ticker.... so now I have a target date for the weight loss too.....
Going 15th Oct 2010 for 14 days - staying in a 4 bedroom villa, pool etc in Emerald Island Resort with Virgin Holidays. And boy oh boy are we looking forward to it... glad we booked today - got the 4 out of the last 6 seats on the flight on the way home!

I am now emotionally exhausted!

Oh, and yes we have been to Kennedy - before kids..... it was a fantastic day out, my girls will be "old enough" for it this time round. They both want to see the bits of the moon.

Thanks for the prices and the website suggestions for tickets, we will be spending many hours comparing deals, and will of course be booking our MNSSHP tickets as soon as the dates come out too...

My favourite bit comes now - the day to day planning.....:woohoo:

Tessa

HOORAY FOR TESSA!!!

I'm so jealous!

Lydia - get packing girl the plane leaves in less then 12 hours!!!

Kara - I love the Osborne lights at DHS! I could sit there and watch those lights for hours! I love looking at the different objects they outline and the fun things in the windows! Have fun! We did the MVMCP and it was OK, but not worth doing again for the cost.

So I've been doing AG things and I'm sick of it! I DON'T WANT TO SEE THE NATICK STORE AGAIN!! DD10 agrees she will work with me on the craft things so we can do them together - working on that mom/daughter bonding - finished a duck tape purse, paper money, a paper TV (I'm going to redo with florist foam). I started an Asian dress, but I need to finish it. I'm going to post pictures of these things but not tonight we've got Girl Scouts and then Open House back to back so busy night. I want you guys to see the Holiday skirt so if anyone wants one for their DD I can take orders. I think I'll do $10 for the skirt - cheap stocking stuffer. I'm about to make a Halloween skirt, but I need to get to Joanne's for Halloween fringe.:yay:

SAD - one of our Brownies dropped out today. I'm so sad! She was really quiet and her mom was afraid she wasn't being involved last year, so we made a point to include her first the last few meetings. I don't know what the reason is but I'm really sad about it. How do you go to your meeting tonight and be happy knowing you've failed one of your girls?

So to make myself feel better I updated my ticker!! You betcha I'm planning this far out!! After Fantasyland rehab is over I'm there BABY!!

Hiya all,

thanks for the advice on the friends moving away thing, I knew I'd get some reassurance here.... Not just - as my dear departed dad would have said "Cr** happens, get on with it!!" He was soooooo sensitive - NOT!! Though I must admit it is advice I have followed many times and it works...

Anyhow, another pound lost :woohoo:

AND serious planning is now underway for Florida Oct 2010!!:woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay: No date yet as have not booked, but SOON, SOON, SOON will be going to the travel agent and booking it. Not just Disney and Universal this time though, we want to go to Kennedy and the beaches (look at the Atlantic from the other side!!) Hubby is also desperate for an airboat ride - so any advice welcome on that one...

Now, we were looking at ticket prices for Disney pre purchase over here - a COMPLETE RIP_OFF ladies...... to pre pay via an agent we would have to fork out $430 for the UK "exclusive" ultimate ticket - 14 days any park, hopper added, inc water parks/world of sports and DisneyQuest - we only want to go to the parks once - and this time we will drop AK and maybe Studios too - So basically a 4 or 5 day with water park and maybe hopper - can anyone price it for me?? Our site for Disney seems to insist on throwing me onto the UK tickets only at the minute...

Thanks..

Tessa

I am so excited for you!!!! That is when I want to take our next big trip!!!!! The thing is we usually shoot for that week before you are going.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!

OMG! Everyone hide! Ellen has found us here!!!! :rotfl2:

Welcome!!!!!!!

Hi Everyone,
Still trying to get adjusted to the new schedule and so far so good. It just keeps me busy and running around! My Mom has a GP appt today so hopefully that goes well.

Pam I am glad your sis is OK!

I have to find time today to call for room rates!
Gotta run! Have a good day girls!

ttessa- Ever been to kenedy? Is it worth it? MY mom cant wait to go there but I wanna make sure the kids arnt bored.

We went to the Space centre last yr my dd was just 9 and she loved it, we are going again next trip for definite!!

Tessa, Erin's ticket find sounds fun! I was just looking at Aquatica last night! I was telling Jim that the way Disney keeps raising prices, and now you can rent "Preferred Chairs" it will be harder to find chairs - it might be time to look for another water park. We usually don't go to the water parks w/o kids anyway.

Ooh we cannot wait to do Aquatica, we are doing it no matter what the weather hahahah as long as it is warm we will be there, friends of ours went there last December and said it was plenty warm because of the weather. woohoo :cool1:
So i can let you know what it's like after feb heehehehehhe

Well, I BOOKED!!

Hopefully you will see the additional ticker.... so now I have a target date for the weight loss too.....

Let me know if you would like any other good web addresses for tickets won't you :thumbsup2

we did a spur of the moment trip to Kennedy when we were there on our honeymoon in 1998. It was the day before John Glenn was going back up. It was really cool. It was so spur of the moment we barely had cash in our pockets because we left everything in the safe.

Lydia--get going!!!! It is easier when it just you and hubby. Have a great time.

Tessa- GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Tina-my heart is breaking for you and the little girl who left. I wish I had a gem of wisdom to share. Just chin up and keep going. Maybe it will be a good opportunity to talk about friendship tonight. good luck tonight.

debbie who is in Naples again? I forgot. sorry.

I need to plan a baby shower for our neighbor. She just had herf 2nd child. Her oldest is 16. She had her in high school now she is starting over. Just a good lesson when not to say never say never.

Just hopping on to say hi, and Happy Hump Day!

Thanks for the well wishes for my DSIS. She is going home today and will be recovering for a few weeks at my mom's.

Tessa - Yippee!!! I'm w/ya on the planning phase - although ultra excited, I am actually getting a little sad that we are less than 60 days out. Our trip will soon be here, then over. Now is the best feeling - the anticipation! Are you going to keep it secret from the girls, or will you let them know? I can't remember what you did last time...

BabyB - Having your grandma's dolls is awesome. Those would be much more special to me than the AG dolls. I had wanted a doll from my hubby's grandma, but she never made me one (but made me many other wonderful things!). I am hoping my MIL will give me hers one day. We do the WDW refillable mugs. I am the designated mug filler most of the time, as I enjoy the walk. You can take orders and use a tray from the food court to carry them back up. With your large group, I am sure that at least one person would enjoy a quiet (key for me!) walk by themselves to get refills. They are well worth the $, IMO. We've only stayed at WDW value resorts, so I cannot offer suggestions as to other places to stay. As for your celebration treat, I would think that any of the resorts would take a special order for something gluten free, or to meet your special dietary needs. I personally think WDW is great like that.

Tammie - I hope that you are feeling better! Your advice to BabyB was great. All of you are so good at that - walking WDW encyclopedias!:)

Happy day to everyone else!:flower3: Downhill slide to the weekend!:woohoo:

Hey, Laura!

Tina - I meant to comment on your Brownie, too. It does make you sad, but the little girl may have trouble connecting anywhere. My Taylor tends to have that problem, everywhere but her GS troop (they've been together for 7 yrs). She is starting in the Confirmation Group at church, which when signing up, had to commit to stay thru the end of the school year. I am so glad that she did. It's been a big worry in the past. Try not to take it personally. If it were you or your troop, you would be losing others as well.

Kids are all packed...

I hope that you get packed, too, or did you mean you packed your kids because you don't want to leave them? You could do the stick figures, like the ladies did on their trip.:rotfl:

Have fun!!!! Enjoy!

Nope, the kids' clothes, etc are all packed. Me, not so much. Going to the spa tonight and will do it afterward! My flight isn't until about 4pm tomorrow.

Lydia, have a magical time! Come back with lots of pics!:cool1:

Pam, thanks I am better today.
Tessa, yay for your RESSIES! :cheer2: You sound so excited already! We are going on our Hawaii trip Oct 2010.

Erin, I look forward to your TR!

Tina, I'm sorry you lost one of your troops. She may need some parenting on how to interact with others. Some people just want solitude. I'm sure its not your fault.

Debbie, it sounds like you are getting into a routine.
Laura, have fun planning the shower.

Today, I spent a bunch of time writing my blog. I hope to make it fun and informative - it started out kind of schoolish - I have to find some funny videos! I went to the post office and Office Max then I came home and put a turkey breast in the oven. I'm watching Oprah and could really use a nap but Jim is home from the gym - so probably not.:goodvibes Have a great Thursday everyone! My Blog:

we have 3 options:
all star music
Port orleans riverside
CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT junior suite

or getting two rooms (wouldnt that be expensive though?)

How nice!:cloud9: Enjoy!

Tammie - Did you make stuffing/dressing, too? I am full, and that sounds good!

BabyB - How many in your travel party? I wouldn't put more than 4 in the ASMo. Those rooms are really small!

BabyB - I like the buttons in your signature!

Tammie- Forgot to say that I bookmarked your blog. I am too tired to read now, but can't wait to check it out.

Goodnight, alll!:grouphug:

OK, I am packed. And can't sleep so I'm going to make a big pot of coffee and do laundry and dishes!

Okay, reading the description of ASM or POR, I would say you would be pretty cramped in those rooms - "2 double beds" are really oversized twins and then they give you a sleeping mat for the floor for one of the kids, for $1571.

The price for 2 rooms at ASM or ASMovies is 1442. You will get 4 double beds between the 2 rooms, and 2 bathrooms and so much more floor space.

Even CSR is $2700 for the Jr. Suite, which is 2 doubles and a queen sized murphy bed - for $2470 you can get 2 rooms with 2 queens and the 2 bathrooms. I guess you probably get a little less TV space if you want to spend time altogher in one room, but I think 2 rooms would be more comfortable.

Weird how that works out!:confused3

Sounds like what I do! We need so much of what we pack, so I am usually packing last minute!

I am so very jealous!! Have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and tell us all about it when you get back!

Tammie - You are a WDW genius, and I admire your greatness!
Seriously, all of you here give such good WDW advice. We should re-title our thread - Ask the Experts. Except that I would have to leave!:sad2:

Men! I am going to be one in my next life because they have it so dang easy! Mine does at least! He's been complaining that he needs to go to the eye dr for a long time now, because he was running out of contacts (I threatened him that if he snuck any of mine he'd be dead meat) and needs new glasses. Well, he is down to his last pair, one is really bothering him, and he STILL hasn't made an appt. He doesn't want to go to our eye dr:confused:, so he wanted to see if one that we used to go to is on our health plan. Being the good wife and caretaker that I am, I just looked up the doctor, found he is on our plan again, so I emailed him the contact info. I bet he expected me to make the freakin appointment! Uggh! I usually feel like I have three kids, not two. Thanks for letting me vent!:headache: Gotta love 'em.

TGTF!!!:cool1:
