Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Sounds like what I do! We need so much of what we pack, so I am usually packing last minute!

I am so very jealous!! Have a blast!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and tell us all about it when you get back!

Tammie - You are a WDW genius, and I admire your greatness!
Seriously, all of you here give such good WDW advice. We should re-title our thread - Ask the Experts. Except that I would have to leave!:sad2:

Men! I am going to be one in my next life because they have it so dang easy! Mine does at least! He's been complaining that he needs to go to the eye dr for a long time now, because he was running out of contacts (I threatened him that if he snuck any of mine he'd be dead meat) and needs new glasses. Well, he is down to his last pair, one is really bothering him, and he STILL hasn't made an appt. He doesn't want to go to our eye dr:confused:, so he wanted to see if one that we used to go to is on our health plan. Being the good wife and caretaker that I am, I just looked up the doctor, found he is on our plan again, so I emailed him the contact info. I bet he expected me to make the freakin appointment! Uggh! I usually feel like I have three kids, not two. Thanks for letting me vent!:headache: Gotta love 'em.

TGTF!!!:cool1:

Pam! I am sure you know just as much as I do! :goodvibes I think I'm going to start another blog soon with Disney info - it might be fun to share and bring some visitors to my other website. :confused3

Isn't it crazy - men won't do those things for themselves. The only way I can get Jim to go to the doc is to make the appt for him. Whatever the reason is. Okay, I did work for docs and had some "ins" but I don't anymore. I think they get married so they can stay little boys! :rotfl2:

Me again. Sorry for another double post. I have a question:

In DTD, do you all know how far it is from McDonalds/Legoland to Planet Hollywood? On a map I am looking at, it doesn't look very far.

We have dinner reservations at PH on our first day of our Nov trip. DH says that we have never walked that far in DTD before (I think we have!), and with our 6:45p res, the kids won't feel like walking all the way back to the buses after dinner, and a long day that will start really early. I think it's a piece of cake. They're not babies. I wonder if he is worried about himself!:rotfl: This AM, he acted like he didn't know we were eating at PH. Uggh! I tried talking to him and getting his input months ago, and at our 90 day mark, when I made the ADRs! He said he is fine w/it, but just offered his words of caution/input this AM.

I don't mean to be men/husband bashing today, but I kind of am!:lmao:

we have 3 options:
all star music
Port orleans riverside
CORONADO SPRINGS RESORT junior suite

or getting two rooms (wouldnt that be expensive though?)

I would agree that two rooms at a value will be less expensive and give you more room in the long run. If you're not in the room much, values are the way to go...... If you plan on spending a lot of time at the resort, go for the mods.

Pam, I so agree with you on men!!! Which is why I tell all my friends with sons, TEACH THEM TO BE INDEPENDENT SO THEY ARE NOT A BURDEN ON THE POOR WOMAN THEY MARRY!!!!! Yes, I'm speaking from experience.

When Jeff and I were dating, we both still lived at home. I would be at his house and his mother would ask him what he wanted to wear the next day. Then she would go up to his room, get his clothes from his closet, bring them downstairs, iron them, and put them back in his room for him!!! :scared1: First thing I taught him to do when we moved in together (yes, we lived in sin!!) was how to iron!!! He does it every morning now, and will even iron my clothes if I ask him to!

On the flip side, teach your daughters the basics of a car - how to check the oil, check tire pressure, basic maintenance. Now I may not have the strenght to change a tire, but I know how. I can also check my oil, and other fluids. And I can start the lawnmower and trimmer and work outside. So important on both sides......

So I am making Ally and I tshirts with this on them.....

How cute is this????? I need to get these done today before Ally gets home, then get us packed tonight!

We're thinking DTD on Friday night when we get in and maybe Illuminations if we get back in time. But we need to get our matching ears for this trip. We've got the Minnie ears, animal print ears, and this time she wants the princess ears I think. We only get them during mother/daughter trips......

I'm sooooo excited for this trip! We have our dresses out and ready to pack for our tea at GF on Saturday. And Ally is excited b/c I'm letting her wear my Mickey dangly earrings, and she found her mickey heads bracelet. I'm tellin ya, this is high falutin!!!! :rotfl2:

As soon as I get caught up at work, I'm off to pack us up, especially toiletries and backpack items. Clothes we'll pack together tonight. I love packing!!!

Well Pam as far as i remember Mcdonalds is right next to the lego shop and Planet hollywood really isn't far either!
I think it's all pretty much nearby anyway really hahahaha

I have no idea if i'll get on again before the weekend so have a fantabulous time won't you

OK, I am packed. And can't sleep so I'm going to make a big pot of coffee and do laundry and dishes!

I have probably missed you but have a great time Lydia

Erin, I look forward to your TR!

Ooh Tammie i'm not sure i'll do a full on one, i never think people would wanna read it, hahha i may do a mini one for you girls so then it'll feel like you were all there with me for Cj's b'day hahahhaa :lmao:

Honestly I didn't notice the room size difference and if I had to pay for 2 rooms I'd do it the cheapest way possible, you're not really in the rooms all that much anyway!

SUCCESS!! i have found the Zhu Zhu pets!! Well DH found them. Purchased 3 hamsters, now all we need is the house, a wheel and a tunnel and we'll be done with shopping for the girls!!

Home sick today - my throat is killing me and AF isn't helping!!

Okay, reading the description of ASM or POR, I would say you would be pretty cramped in those rooms - "2 double beds" are really oversized twins and then they give you a sleeping mat for the floor for one of the kids, for $1571.

The price for 2 rooms at ASM or ASMovies is 1442. You will get 4 double beds between the 2 rooms, and 2 bathrooms and so much more floor space.

Even CSR is $2700 for the Jr. Suite, which is 2 doubles and a queen sized murphy bed - for $2470 you can get 2 rooms with 2 queens and the 2 bathrooms. I guess you probably get a little less TV space if you want to spend time altogher in one room, but I think 2 rooms would be more comfortable.

Weird how that works out!:confused3

Were only plannin on being in the room to sleep. The 9 andf 11 year old are totally planning on sleeping in bed with there mom since to them thats a treat. Mom and I are confrotable sharing a bed (we share a fullsized one alot).

Hi folks:
I'm a first time Mom to a beautiful 7 month old baby girl. All my husbands family are planning a trip to Florida for next April and I am so excited about going, but fretting over the H1N1 virus. I am so scared that my little girl could come into contact with someone carrying the virus and get sick. My husband is not as concerned, saying that the virus is everywhere and she could easily pick it up here at home, but I still can't shake the worry (maybe it's a "mom thing", i dunno)? I REALLY want to go, and keep telling myself that April is a "safe" month but I still fear this bloody virus so much. I think alot of this fear has to do with the fact that, everytime I turn on the tv, some expert is on, predicting sickness and death for all the world... ugh! Also, this new debate about whether the flu shot is safe or will work, is also stressing me out. Is there anyone out there who can put my fears to rest, or who share these feelings?

I work at a hospital daycare. I am around sick people daily. Im worried about H1N1 but mostly cause I recall the last time I got the flu (i didnt get up off the couch for almost a week, and now I live alone). I guess im not worried and were going to disney in August. Humm mabey I should worry more, I do have a medical issues (Anemic, Allergies, borderline diabetis and recently discovered... Lactose Intorlance (ahhh no more cheese :()

About the H1N1 I would say be sanitarially cautious, but don't be crazy. When we were at D in August we brought travel size purell hand sanitizer and used it regularly. Plus we washed our hands more often then usual while we were at the parks. I always bring baby wipes even though my kids are 7 and 10, but it does help to constantly clean hands and faces. Plus educate kids about touching EVERYTHING! If you educate them now then when you get there it won't be crazy talk to them. IMO

ERIN - Zhu Zhu pets are these cute little hamsters that squeak noises and then run on the floor. They have cute plastic tunnels and play ball. Pretty much it's exactly like what you would have for a hamster, but it's not real. For my kids it's perfect because DD7 and I are terribly allergic to hair and fur so she'll get the fun of the pet, without the pet!! The only thing you have to do to take care of it is to change the batteries. We'll see if she's even still interested in it by Easter..:confused3

Well DH is at AG in Natick letting her buy a new doll with her $$, she said she wanted Elizabeth, but then there was Gwen. We'll see what she comes home with. We've got open house tonight hopefully they'll come home before it's time.

UPDATE!! DD10 just came back from the store with JLY#37 - she has strawberry blonde hair and bluish green eyes - she looks just like Nellie, Samantha's best friend - DD10 already has Samantha so this was a perfect match! She's very excited!

OK, as for the H1N1 virus, I live in FL and it's all over down here. They aren't even closing schools for it now because per the CDC if you have the flu, 90% of all flu right now in FL is H1N1. My dd has several friends who have had it, so I feel it will run its course.

Also, when it first came out in the spring, we had a weekend trip to WDW planned and at first I was nervous after someone from Mexico was hospitalized in Orlando after being at WDW. But we went, and all was well.

Your DH is right - you can catch it from a shopping cart at the grocery store, the ATM, or the money you get back at a drive thru. Don't fret, have fun! And GO to WDW!!!

Erin - funny you mention those zhu zhu pets - they were on fox news today as the "hot" toy of the Christmas season. Think I need to grab one for Ally for a stocking stuffer!

OK ladies, shirts are made, and we're off at 3 tomorrow. Looks like the Dolphin has internet access so I'm taking my laptop and will try to post LIVE this weekend! Otherwise, you can always see me on facebook!

TTFN!!!!

ugh - I've been so busy entertaining the little man that I feel like I barely get online anymore! Less than 3 weeks until the baby arrives...had my weekly appt. today and the doctor wants me to go for an U/S for a weight check on the baby...the doctor thinks she might be "large"...it's a far cry from my DS - he was 6lb 11oz and a week late.

Hope everyone is doing well - I'm going to go back read now. :)

I guess I would go with the Value, and the 2 rooms is still $1400 vs. $1500 for one room :confused3

Kara! I didn't even realize your trip was this weekend! Have a wonderful time, you two! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Erin, I'll be happy with a few pics here, I promise!:goodvibes

Tessa, maybe they'll come out with Zhu Zhu pigs you won't be allergic to!:thumbsup2

Tina! Good score on those pets - I've seen them - wanted to get them for the babies, but Jim says they'll just tear them up. How is your DD doing with her new friend?

Welcome NewfieScotian!:cheer2: I agree, the virus is everywhere - just use lots of handwashing and normal germ cautions then have fun! We had some fold up placemats for the little ones to eat on so they aren't putting their food on dirty tables - That drives me nuts!

Pam, I'm not sure about the McD to PH question. It kind of seems like a long walk to me, too - but maybe I'm not remembering it right. Maybe Kara can pace it off for you this weekend! :rotfl:

Shelly! Nice to see you here! Keep us posted about your US!

Flying BabyB - You need to get the flu shots for sure! With those health issues, you really don't need to get the flu:eek:

im sorry that your trip got canceled. It hurts. But a trip to DC sounds great

I've decided that a wet floor is on par with a poopy floor. I hate waking up and finding a major project that needs to be done. The water softner cycled all over the floor last night. Of course it got on the carpet that I just had cleaned. UGHHHH! Tim moved the discharge hose and didn't reconnect it. Love those husbands.

TGIF!!!

Got Ally's flu vaccine on Monday - she got the nasal mist - and she had a sore throat for a couple of days.

Then I got my flu vaccine on Tuesday night and ended up with a fever and body aches Wednesday afternoon. All's well now though and we're ready to go!!!

You should see how Ally dressed us today. Both in denim mini skirts, with Ugg boots. So cute! But so NOT good for 90 degree weather in FL! :rotfl2: Oh, well, maybe it will only be in the upper 80's by the time we get there..... :rolleyes1

AF is a problem here too. I think I'm pre-menopausal. I'm about every 3 1/2 weeks now, and super bad for the first day or two. Then sometimes goes for another 4 or 5 days, sometimes only 1. Really weird. And of course, she made her unwelcome appearance on Wednesday, so not good when it's just me and Ally travelling together. Luckily it's not so busy at WDW that she can't go into the stall next to mine. Usually I make her come with me, but in a case like this, I make her go next to mine, and just wait inside until I am done and then she can come out. But I'm so not ready for THOSE questions if she shares a stall with me. I guess that was probably TMI, but y'all are like my sisters!!!!

Anyway, I think I mentioned the mountain house rental next summer with Jeff's family? Including his aunt/uncle, and their two kids and families. I sooooo don't want to go - every time MIL asked my opinion on dates or whatever, we were overruled by something. I said no July because of Ally's swim team. So we're going in July. I said July 4th week is the best for us since no swim meets. We're going mid-July (July 4th is "too expensive" - even though we're spliiting 6 ways?). And we're only going 4 nights, so I said make it over weekend, so we're going Monday-Friday. WTH???? So I have to waste a weeks vacation for a four day trip, and did I mention it's an 11 hr drive for us????? Ohly about 8 for the family in MI, and only 4 for MIL/FIL and of course BSIL, cause heaven forbid she should be inconvenienced.....

Anyway, just found out Jeff's cousin and his wife are preggers with their second, due end of May! So that might cancel our stupid trip!!!!

OK, need to go finish throwing things together. I'll try to post a pic of Ally and I looking all stylish (if it were 30 degrees outside!) later tonight!

Well i hadn't even heard of them until i went to the shopping thread, they are certainly not here yet hahahha
I have been busy all week selling all our old junk etc at the market a)to clear room for new junk heehee b)to pay for the ton of things that have come home from school and guides this week and c)to go into my WDW pot wooohoooo

ugh - I've been so busy entertaining the little man that I feel like I barely get online anymore! Awww My DD was only 6lb 14 and you certainly wouldn't think she was a titcher now hahaha
3 weeks how exciting for you!

Erin, I'll be happy with a few pics here, I promise!:goodvibes

hahhaha thanks Tammie, i do fancy doing a TR but never think anyone would read :cool1:

:( mom said no disney, it cost too much. Now she feels bad so I might get at least to DC!

Oh no poor you i'm so sorry to hear that

Hiya all,

Kara - sounds like a nightmare! Did they deliberately try to get a date you didn't want , sounds so mean spirited.....

Erin - any ticket websites would be welcome - I'm doing lots of comparisons already. I think I am a born "organiser". The web finally let me get to the Disney US site instead of UK - so can see that the tickets would be cheaper even going through Disney themselves and putting them on Will Call. Will have to do that for the MNSSHP anyhow I guess...

Oh, and you HAVE to do a trippie - keeps the excitement going for those of us with trips to plan!!!!!

Whoever was asking - I'm hopeless at remembering a thread of more than 2 people, sorry.... Planet Hollywood and the Lego shop are quite close to each other, and it is flat, so I wouldn't see any problems.....

Well, going to look into "the dark side" perhaps book a room at Universal for when we are there so we get the front of line passes, and it will be a change of location for a night...

I got a new tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiicker.....:woohoo: Can you tell I'm excited????:yay::yay:Can you???:yay::yay: Can you??:yay::yay:

Tessa
