Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Hiya all,

Erin - loved the piccies!! Wish I had a trip properly lined up. Still on the "let's aim for Oct 2010...."

Tessa

Hi all
Well first day back to school all went off without a hitch.
Chloe has officially started her very last yr of middle school :scared1: man that scares the life out of me!!
I'm going to make the most of this first week back though, no trombone lesson, no guides, no after schools clubs and no homework hahahha just like having 1 more week of holiday :rotfl:

Hi girls! Survived the raft trip - what a blast! We had just us and another couple we've been friends with for a long time along with a guide. There were 5 rafts going together from the base here. It was chilly, and the water temp was in the 40's - actually felt warm compared to the river at home. We had wet suits and jackets as well as life jackets, so we didn't really get cold at all. We had huge water fights with buckets - Jeannie and I were the pilots, and the guys were "gunning" from the front!:rotfl:

We stopped on a small sandy area and ate a sack lunch - I was peeing behind a bush when another raft went by laughing and waving at me - nice! :upsidedow Oh well, I don't know them. Then we just enjoyed the trip and the rapids - The guys had Jeannie and I lay out over the front of the raft and play Titanic over some of the biggest rapids! We laughed our A**** off and got drowned by the water - the boys got a kick out of that! I'm just happy I didn't fall out of the raft all day! :lmao:

We got dinner at an old 50's drive-in that Jim saw on Travel Channel - brought it home and watched Benjamin Button - good movie! Kind of strange. Today, we're going to go exploring some old parts of town - tomorrow we're going to the Air Museum with friends and then to Mountain Home AFB - Mark and Jeannie used to be stationed there - to relive memories with them and get our picture CD from the raft trip - I have to say, I love this town! I really need to get to work, though. I keep thinking I'm on vacation!:goodvibes

Hope you're all having a great weekend!

Erin, thanks for sharing your pics - how fun! It seems so exotic to me that you went to Portugal - looks beautiful! Glad school went well for Chloe.

Tina, is your hubby a DJ?

Shelly, you are so close to having your baby! Don't forget to post pics for us! I'm glad you're taking a little time off before the baby is born. Did you say if it's a boy or girl - sorry I don't remember?

Okay - off to the shower before Jim gets tired of waiting for me - have a great day everyone!

 to Jillian if you're here!

What a great weekend! We went apple picking on Sunday and then stopped at the Ice Cream Factory (homemade ice cream) on the way home.

Today we went to Savers in hopes to get DD10 a winter jacket, but ended up at Burlington Coat factory and after $100 both girls got a winter coat and DD10 got a vest too. Dinner made, tubs done and now it's reading time and bed time. DH is off to his DJ boss's house for a surprise birthday party/fantasy football draft. Yes my DH is a DJ - weddings, parties, anniversary, etc. He's been doing it for 15 years and even DJed for a radio station during college. He loves it!

We start Girl scouts this week and I hope to sign DD7 up for gymnastics.

hi all! Im back from the lake. School starts tomorrow. EEK! i'll have a second grader.

oh the dog.. Ellie is at her new home. we gave her to her new owners on Saturday. it was tough but really for the best. I was starting to sneeze after holding her. It turns out that the schnauzer isn't as dander free as we thought. The girls did ok with it but we all do miss her. I'm thinking that God sent her to me so I can heal wounds from Max. I think we may sign up to be a foster family for the local shelter but I'm not to sure because I love my carpet too much. :goodvibes

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Katie is off to preschool today and so my house will get cleaned top to bottom. Well at least that is my plan...

Hi all! Quick fly by! This 3-day weekend went by way too fast! We did way too much playing and zero chores. I will need to catch up later.

What cute pictures!! Thanks, Erin and Laura! They are all precious!

Have a great week (4-dayer for us working folk!)! TTYL!:grouphug: Work. Uggh....

Laura - I totally hear you about the dog. I'm allergic to dog saliva and dander and everyone always says i should be fine because the dog has hair and not fur, but it's not over allergy-free! You have to be careful. Yes, pet stores are nightmares for me - that's why we don't have a pet! Love the school picture!!

Ok so Tomorrow is our first Girl Scout meeting and I have to say I'm pretty stressed out. Oh no, DH is home I have to go! bye ladies.

Freak out of the day:
I lost the St. cristophers necklace mom gave me for christmas. I took it off yesterday to nap,and I SWEAR I put it on the coffee table (and relized that I was gonna freak latter cause it wasnt in the bathroom shot glass) and Now its missing. Ive looked everywere and Im panicking. I only have till friday to find it before mom relizes I lost it. :confused3

trip check list included in this thread" Where I need this so bad!! Im planning for our family of 5 to go and im freaking out. 4 out of the 5 of us have never been on a plane, Never been on a vacation and never been anywere.

Tammie - sounds like you had a blast!! Glad you're having such a good time....now get to work! :rotfl2:

I'm having a girl...so we'll have one of each now. I think this means we might be done - but you never know. Jacob will turn 2 the day before I have Natalie, and he's already entered the terrible 2's...Mr. Daredevil. He thinks he can fly and has no fear...causing me to have constant heart attacks. It's going to be interesting staying home with him full time, and then the added bonus of a newborn in a month!

Tina - Apple picking is so much fun! Just another reason to love fall. :goodvibes I was a radio DJ in college too! How funny. All this talk about girl scouts is getting me in the mood for girl scout cookies. How evil!

My entire downstairs stinks of paint...DH decided right now (9:15pm) is the perfect time to start rolling the paint on the walls. But I'm not going to say anything, at least it's getting done. I was SO tired of the color we had in our family room and kitchen...it's a wide open space and was ALL mustard yellow. I don't know WHAT the heck I was thinking when we painted it that 4.5 years ago. Now it's going to be a khaki color with a hunter type green for an accent wall at the end of the room where the fireplace is.

Have a great night!

Fly by to say HI! Today was the first day of school. I will catch up later but am ALWAYS thinking about you guys!

I hope you find it! How exciting for family who haven't traveled! We love to help plan - stay around and get to know us, we're a friendly bunch!:banana::banana::banana:

Hi Pam! Jim had 4 1/2 days off and we played and ate out too much - must try to get something done before the weekend again!

Your new paint sounds nice. I'm getting ready to paint my kitchen/DR yellow - now you're scaring me!

Tina, it's nice you have so many family activities with your girls!:thumbsup2 Still waiting for your Disney pics! popcorn::

Hi Debbie, Kara, Cammie, Erin, Tessa, Lorrie, Jillian, Lidya!

Today we went out to the AF Base and got a CD of our rafting trip, had a nice lunch outside at the golf course - got home and the laptop won't read the CD :headache: I'll post a few pics from our July trip, and then do a little TR here - I did go to DL after all! Maybe in a few days I can get the rafting pics up - they turned out really great, cuz I wasn't the photographer! :goodvibes

I guess I didn't download any trip pics from July except these of the kids:

Okay, I'll start my TR tomorrow - have a Happy Wednesday everyone!

So far all ive planned is:
Day 1 hotel hopping. Being lazy since the adults (minius me) will be napping
Day 2 Epcot
Day 3 Animinal kingdom
Day 4 Hollywood studios
Day 5 Magic Kindgom
Day 6 Kenedy space center and HARD ROCK CAFE (my addiction)
Day 7 Seaworld
Day 8 Home (and disney in the moring, whatever park the kids choose)

Havent bought tickets, planned a flight or anything else. Though I did make plane activity books. I did a section for epcot with a powerpoint page with some infromation on each county. Then I printed that countries flag and a coloring page. The next section is disney games. dots and find the words. After that comes Sea world coloring pages and then disney coloring pages. Im planning on tucking the disney journal from Mouseforless.com in the back eventually. I also bought cheap stickers and those little $1 activity books. The best part is all of this fit GREAT in those plastic folders with prongs. This whole beautiful project only cost $20 for 5 of them. $5 for paper, $3 for activity books, $5 for folders and some misclanous expenses.

On a happy note: My freinds kid gave my little sister one of those light up spinning tinkerbell things. She didnt want it and gave it to me. It was the one souvineer I wanted (and now dont have to buy).

they kiddo are adorable. I can see why you miss them so much.

hi flying babyb! Welcome. looks like you are on your way to planning. that's the fun part.

HAPPY WINDSDAY! Boy it was windy here this AM, not so much now, but I thought my oak tree in the back was going to come down.

8am - got a call from the nurse at DD10's school that she has a rash on her hands, arms and belly - a virus?? Anyone heard of this before? I'm wondering if it's a form of hand/foot/mouth disease. She said by the time the rash comes out the virus isn't contageous and DD10 wasn't itching or had a fever so there was no need to send her home. DD10 said she noticed it when she took a drink before going to class - they were going to check their scores. Not sure what that means, but I'm wondering if it was nerves. You should see the rash she gets when she gets when she takes MCAS - poor thing gets crazy nervous.

So tonight is our first Girl Scout meeting of the year and I'm wicked nervous. I don't know why - I've got everything we need for the neeting, it just makes me crazy. I'm kinda getting down about the group though, the other leaders and I don't really see eye to eye and I'm wondering if I should start a troop on my own. Even typing the words makes my skin crawl - it's so much work and I don't want to do ALL of it myself. The troop we have now - we have a cookie mom and a finance mom and I don't want to do either of these jobs! I guess the issue is I want to do more with the troop then the other leaders - camping, programs, adventures and they don't. I'm totally venting, but it gets me down.

Thanks, Laura

FlyingBabyB, Great job on the activity books! I know the little ones willo enjoy them. Looks like you have a great start on your planning! You will be more sure which days you want for each park when the park hours come out at 6 months - where are you staying?

Tina, Maybe the rash is nerves, like you said. Doesn't sound like hoof and mouth to me. I'm sorry GS is making you so crazy already before it starts.

Who can say that Lorrie feels like she bit off so much more than she can chew!

I had no idea that school was going to turn our lives upside down. WOW! Homework, now I cook each meal, car pool - am and pm is one hour each way. I'm exhausted. I just feel like I'm sucking wind majorly!

Second sucking wind reason: I ever so stupidly signed up for a class that started LAST WEEK. It is scrapbooking, but I still hate being behind. It is 4 weeks - and I have done nothing. I'm 1/4 class behind. hate that.

Then another one starts next month.

Someone please tell me the routine gets better! Even if you have to lie to me! :lmao:

Anyway, nothing else to report. Mia is just funny at this age. She feels the need to explain everything, so each sentence is followed with "be CA use" as she explains in her two year old way everything she is saying. So funny!

Nicolas is doing so well in school. Seriously great. I'm so glad that my buds talked me into sending him this year - it was REALLY the right thing to do. He looks forward to it - and to homework. He is LOVING it. Already moving on to sight words, basic reading - even his handwriting is improving.

I just wanted to say hello and missing you guys. I'll get my crap together someday.

Lorrie!!!!! You're back! And YES, it does get easier. You will find your routine and it becomes, well, ROUTINE! Puter moving slow so I'm posting now so I don't lose it.

Been reading up but not posting much but I miss you guys! Work is getting busy..... I'll check in later!
