Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Welcome back, Tina! Glad you enjoyed Chicago. It's always good to be back home, except when you go to WDW! I cry when I have to go home. Everywhere else, I am OK. 6 days? OMG! KEEP AWAKE!!

Laura - I hope that your weather was OK. How scary. I hate the thunderstorms and threat of tornadoes. Well, I know know that no one likes it. Let us know everything is OK.

Debbie - Still thinking of you and Chelsea. I hope that you give us the update that she is getting better. Hope your weather wasn't bad, either.

Jillian - Don't work so hard! 16 hour days!? I start turning off at 9. I couldn't do it.

Erin - You're just a baby! Glad that Chloe and your family made your day special for you!

Tammie - You're busy! We had to get unlimited texting for the kids. I am getting a texting keyboard asap. I do not text much because it's such a PITA on my phone! My ADR call is tomorrow AM! Now, I am all over the road about our Fantasmic dinner day. Trying to decide if we should do the FDP, as we have done in the past, or just skip it, and wait for a Fantasmic seat w/the crowd. We have to decide tonight! Be safe on your trip!

Kara - What car did you get? How fun about the tea party!

Erin, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BELATED! sorry I missed it.

ERIN- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ERIN HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

Erin - HAPPY BRITHDAY - btw - no one ever ages over 25 - so you keep those other numbers in your back pocket!

Erin - You're just a baby! Glad that Chloe and your family made your day special for you!

im okay. the jam was a project. the girls weren't as interested as you would have suspected.

kara what type of car is it--did i miss it?

Jeez. Some people are so nasty on these boards. I am really hesitant sometimes about adding any comments elsewhere! I'm glad that we are so nice, and none of of us are too opinionated, IMO!:rotfl:

Erin - Gorgeous stuff! I want to go to London someday!

Hi, Laura!

I've been brown bagging it for lunch, skipping Starbucks and the impulsive drinks (but we love the occasional shaved ice, since it's summer) and takeout meals, reducing our dining out, trying to order water at most meals out (unless we are having an alcoholic beverage, which I try to avoid because it's too overpriced!), reducing impuslive buying of non-needed items, etc., but I can't tell if it's been doing any good because of the back to school expenses, dentist expenses, and the high summer electric bills. It's always something! It's probably also due to the fact that I haven't done my checkbook lately!:headache: Just had to vent!;)

I have vacation fever - for tomorrow and the weekend, and for our Nov trip! I'm worthless.

Pam - I hear yeah babe! We haven't gone out to eat (except for our anniversary) in 6 months! We've eaten out of our cupboards! I'm not allowed to go out on the weekends because I drop $50 to 100 at Target or Walmart or Joannes, so now we hang out at home. SAVE SAVE SAVE!!

YEAH! PROJECT RUNWAY IS ON!! I love this show!

Tina, 6 DAYS!!!! I can't believe you are there! I will be on vacation, and may not get to say Bon Voyage, so happy packing and have a great trip!!!! I can't wait to see your report when you get back! I'm sending PD your way for a great trip!

I don't have an address right now, so you can send a card to one of the other DIS buds!

Hi Girls. I got a text from Debbier earlier tonight - really upset because the vet told her Chelsea might not get better. I called her, but got her voicemail. I left a message, but she didn't call back.

If anyone hears anything, could you text me? Let's all give extra prayers and PD for Debbie - and lots of love, too!:grouphug:

Debbie - I hope that you are doing OK.

What a morning!

Taylor had a friend spend the night last night - a sweet girl, but one that is really loud! What was I thinking? I am off work today, but Darrin has to work. He was not very happy last night. I had to get out of bed a couple of times to ask them to keep their voices down. We live in a very small house, and the girls' bedrooms are right across from ours. Even if they are in the living room or kitchen, the noise carries. It wasn't that bad. The last time they woke us up was about 3am. He said he never got back to sleep when storms started about 4:30. My alarm went off as usual, at 5:15, and he had to get up at 6.

I had to get up early to make my ADRs. I would have woken up early anyway, but maybe not until 6, esp after last night. I also had to make a breakfast casserole for the high school teachers, that I need to get there by 8. I think that I made it wrong. After buying the stuff I didn't have last night, and making it this am, I notice that in very light print, at the top of the recipe, it says Breakfast Pizza. It does say to put it in a 13x9x2 pan. You use crescent rolls for the crust, and it says to seal the perforations. I thought to myself - why worry about that too much if it's the crust on the bottom of the casserole? I did somewhat, but not all the way. When I put the 5 eggs as the last ingredient on top, I thought that it wasn't enough eggs. I am glad that I didn't add more, like I almost did. Maybe there is some hope for it. Also, I added the parmesean cheese to the eggs, and didn't sprinkle it on top, like the recipe says. Uggh! This is going to turn out horribly! Everyone in the PTA is making the same recipe, and mine is going to be wrong! I am going to disguise myself when I drop it off (also due to the fact that I am not showering before I go). What is wrong w/me???

I called WDW at 6am to make my ADRs, and couldn't find my credit card. I had used it last night at Walmart, and remember being in a hurry to pick up the band kids, and I just shoved the receipt and my card in my purse. I thought that maybe it had been on top and fallen out. When I guaranteed my ADRs, I had to use our bank debit/credit card to secure them. As soon as I got off the phone w/WDW, I called the credit card company to put a hold on the card - to find out that they don't put holds on the cards, only cancel them! I asked the lady why they can put a hold on the card when I haven't verified my charges. They call me occasionally to verify my charges, and when I miss the call and they leave me a VM, they put a hold on the card until I call, which has caused me problems and embarassment in the past. I told her exactly that, and she couldn't tell me. I was so angry. I told her not to cancel it. It's the only card I have, and I have it tied to several of my bills so that we get points, and it's a major pita to have to re-set all of that back up. I tried calling Walmart and couldn't get thru becuase although they are 24-hr, customer service wasn't open yet. In the meantime, I found my card, tucked behind a little pouch that velcros to the inside of my purse, that holds my iTouch. I had rummaged thru my purse several times, then taken everything out and couldn't find it. If the credit card company cancelled my card, I will be furious.

During all of this, after I had hung up w/WDW and had been on the phone w/the cc company, Darrin walked out and asked how I fared w/the ADRs. I told him OK, and he commented how I wasn't very excited, and it must just be because it's old hat, been there, done that, but he was surprised. I didn't want to tell him that I had thought I lost my card. I built up my courage to tell him what had happened, becuase I knew I would feel humiliated, and I was right to feel that way. I tried to change the subject, by telling him what time our ADRs were, then he asked me why I made our Chef Mickey ADR so early, that we would be rushing like crazy to get from AK to Contemporary for dinner. Uggh! I told him that I have been trying to get his input for weeks, and he just said that I am the expert, that he leaves those decisions ultimately up to me. Of course the whole family gave input as to what restaurants, but when I had asked about timing, the only thing he said is that he didn't want an early Crystal Palace breakfast ADR. I had thought it would be neat to get into the park before park opening, but he would have nothing to do w/that. We're doing that on his bday, so I thought I would accomodate and save the complaining. I told him he was being an a#$, and he said that it's because he didn't get any sleep.

I need to check on my breakfast casserole, er pizza, buzzer is going off...Thanks for listening!:flower3: I cannot call anyone right now because it's still too early, or they are at or on their way to work! I appreciate the ears!

Tim did the same thing to me when I made our ADRs. They will get over it and say wow you did a great job. Just about then our heads pop off and spin. Gotta love them :)

I 'm making a quiche in two weeks. It sounds difficult but everyone assures me that it will be easy. Your experience doesn't make me feel good. I'm sure it will turn out fine.

Rain and more rain today. Beth slept over at DN9 house last night. I'm waiting to hear if they actually slept. Now to clean my house. I don't know how it can get to be so messy since I had it spot less a few weeks back. aghhh!

Debbie was having a hard afternoon when I talked to her last night. I haven't gotten any texts yet this am. Still hoping it goes well.

have fun in your vroom-vroom car Kara. I just imagine Ally in the backseat with her hands over her face-embarassed because you are having so much fun. I know that because that is what my girls would do. have fun

How is the secret going Tina? I still owe you a response to all the brownie questions....

I'm such a slacker...need to catch up. Just haven't had much time...poo has hit the fan around here and I'm dealing with DH and his work-stress....can't get into it now, it's rather messy, but hopefully it'll be cleared up after Saturday.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day though....and my thoughts are with Debbie....:hug::hug::hug:

Do we???? :lmao:I ended up calling him at work to apologize about letting the little girl spend the night on a night before he had to work. I just thought that summer is about over, and would rather it be last night than tonight or tomorrow night, and I knew she would press for one of them. I am going to put my foot down and say no to tonight or tomorrow night, because I know she will ask.

I've never made quiche! Don't worry - Casserole (pizza?) turned out great! It was so easy to make, I just didn't read the recipe carefully, and totally missed the title of Breakfast Pizza. The email sent to us was titled Breakfast Casserole. I think there's a difference. It made the house smell so yummy! I have all of the ingredients, and think I am going to make it for dinner tonight! We'll have that w/white cream gravy and fruit. Picky Megan will have to eat frozen waffles, bacon and fruit. The rest of us will love it. When I dropped it off at the school, I looked at the others that had been dropped off, and most looked about the same. There were a couple of variations. If just Darrin and I were eating it, I would add onion and green pepper, and some parsley in w/the parmesean cheese that is supposed to be sprinkled on top and not mixed in w/the eggs (like I accidentally did!)...

They probably didn't sleep. I took the day off to do fun stuff w/my kids, and because they stayed up all night w/friends, they will sleep all day. I was thinking of being loud and waking them up, but I am enjoying my quiet time too much!

Debbie was having a hard afternoon when I talked to her last night. I haven't gotten any texts yet this am. Still hoping it goes well.

My heart goes out to her, too.

What kind of car did Kara get???

How is the secret going Tina? I still owe you a response to all the brownie questions....

I have been in such a complaining mood this AM! (Well, DH didn't make it any better!) I am also in a talkative mood. Most of my friends and family work, and I am dying to talk to someone right now! Thanks for putting up w/my wordiness!

Shelly - I hope that your day is great. Tomorrow is Saturday! Things will be better soon! My long and frequent posts don't make it easy for someone to catch up.:rotfl:

i'm not sure what kind of car but Jeff works for the auto auction and he always get fantastic deals on great cars.

Okay--help me here. My friend calls me yesterday saying the new puppy they just got (schnoodle) is causing major allergies in their family. I was surprised because they are supposed to be hypo-allergenic. Anyway she says I know you just lost your dog and you mentioned how fun it was to have 2 dogs--do you want her. My instinct was to say yes but then I started thinking it out. I dont' want to go thru puppyhood again. I babysat my BIL dog on Tuesday for them and I remembered how much work they can be. that ********dog pooped on my accorden shade that was on the floor due to the window construction. I just don't want to deal with the potty training. so my dilema is her kids really want to have the dog go to someone they know. Tim is okay taking her as a foster but I'm not leaning towards doing that either. I just am not ready. Am I being mean? Plus my in-laws dog, who we are watching while they are in Alaska, just pooped! AGHHHH!!! I'm so not ready for a puppy.

Pam - yea on the ADRs and yea on finding your ccard!

Laura - I hear you on the puppy - it's tough but damn! They are so cute and cuddly!

Debbie - hope all is well with Chelsea! I got a text from her yesterday that the vet told her they don't think she will get better. I told Debbie to just ask the vet what they can do to make her comfortable and take it day by day. So sad!

OK, so a couple of you have asked - Jeff got me a 2003 BMW 325i with 92K miles on it - so it's far from new but it's new to me! It's a spunky little car and I just giggle like crazy when I zoom around corners, or floor it from a stop sign. Jeff just shakes his head and laughs at me. I told him that my Rendezvous goes from 0-60 in like 3 MINUTES so this little car is fun!!! The trunk is super small though so I don't know if we'll keep it long. The deal he got is much lower than wholesale cost, and I checked craigslist in our area and there are 4 for sale same year, same mileage, and they are selling for $3-5K MORE than we paid! So even if I keep it for a year or so, we should be able to sell it for what we paid.

Every once in awhile a great car comes through Jeff's auction and this one really caught his eye. Of course, he drove it today because one of the taillights is out so he's gonna have the mechanic at work get that changed for us. I teased him that he just wanted to zoom around today! :rotfl:

Today is school orientation then tomorrow I'm going to a ladies golf clinic in the morning, then taking a friend out to lunch (her husband lost his job several months ago and they are really struggling!), then couples golf tomorrow night and another couple is coming back to our house to play cards afterwards, so busy busy day!

In response to those who asked about the Cricut-It's a permanent fixture on my dining room table. Totally worth the investment! Mine is only 8 months old and I want to upgrade...I have the Cricut Create.

And I use it all day to make party favors and banners...

Next purchase is the Disney cartridges...

I totally changed direction today, and upgraded to the DDP from the QSDP. I am not sure what DH will think. In the past, we've avoided TS, due to cost, time and commitment, and only done 3 TS (2 being character) plus Rainforest in DTD on our first day. I decided to change things up a bit and not do CRT on this trip, but Chef Mickey's instead, and do MM for FDP instead of H&V. When I booked the 3 TS meals this AM, I got what I wanted and felt great, but after posting, someone asked why I didn't upgrade to DDP at $40/day or $280, when my 3 meals totalled about $375. I lost one snack/day doing this, but paid less oop so far than what I was going to on QSDP. We don't always eat 3 meals/day when there, and esp won't now, due to the bigger meals. I'm more of a 3 small meals or more/day person. I will split some CS meals w/Tay, or order kids meals sometimes, esp for breakfast, and I will pack Pop Tarts, for the days we don't get breakfast at POP, esp Crystal Palace and Tusker House days. Does this sound like a good deal money wise? I am afraid I'm not thinking of something, some twist to it, besides the reasons we've stayed away from TS in the past. Since it's "free", I feel like I can't pass it up. I have told Darrin I made a change to our trip, but haven't told him the specifics yet. He asked if I added extra days?! Hmmm... Just kidding. We can't.

11/19 - Planet Hollywood dinner 6:45 (OOP)
11/20 - Chef Mickey dinner 6:30
11/21 - Coral Reef linner 4:05
11/22 - Mama Melrose FDP linner 3:50
11/23 - Rose & Crown linner 4:30
11/24 - Tony's dinner 6:30
11/25 - Crystal Palace brunch 10:30
11/26 - Tusker House lunch 11:30

We'll then have 7 CS meals and 7 snacks to get in there, everything else being oop.

The girls got up and we took Tay's friend home. Did lunch at McD's, then the library. I thought it would be free, but we had to buy replacement cards for the girls, who have misplaced theirs, and Megan had a $9 late fee from 2008! It's sad that we haven't been more often. My free library outing cost me $11! :) I had wanted to go to the public pool, since we have summer passes, and today is our last day of summer. Not sure when they close for good for the summer. Would like to get at least one more use out of them...

Just came back from running errands and my feet are killing me!

So I went to Justice to return a pair of jeans and left with a jean skirt, a scarf, a belt, lip gloss and 3 capri tights all for $3.25!! Well the 40% off coupon didn't hurt! Don't worry I then ran to Target and spent $60 so that balanced it out! Actually Target had great travel sizes and snacks on sale! Now I just ahve to wait until after they go to bed tonight and re-pack a few things. I'm getting excited!

Deb - I'm sending more hugs your way.:grouphug::love::grouphug: My friend just had to spend $200 on her cat who isn't feeling well and she's on her way to Disney tomorrow morning. She's been stressing out all week about her cat. It made me think of you again and ho you neded another hug sent your way!!

Our baby girl is gone. I can't believe it! I am so distraught. The doctor told my dad last night that she wasn't improving. He told me the same thing during the day but I wasn't ready to hear it. I stayed with her at the vet all day and then Mark came. My Dad then brought her home around 7 and told my Mom what was discussed. They said there wasn't any more we could do for her. We wanted to take her in today while she was still feeling OK from all the fluids they had pumped her up with. We wanted to take her in before she started heading downward again after being taken off the fluids. They were flushing out her system from all the poisons the liver & kidneys weren't getting rid of. We were able to say our good byes to her while she wasn't in pain. My Mom, Dad, brother and myself all went with her and held her as we said good bye and then let her go. It was the right thing to do. It was peaceful and fast for her. I didn't want to leave her. My heart is broken. We have had Chelsea in our lives for 13 years and have been through very much with her. She pulled so many doggie miracles out of her pocket that I guess we just wanted another one. She was the greatest dog. She was the sweetest, cutest, most loving dog ever. We have revolved our lives around her for 13 years and now I just don't know how to face the days without her in them. I am especially worried about my Mom whose bond with Chelsea is indescribable. They have been attached at the hip. Chelsea loved her more than life. I can't stop crying. I am not being strong for anyone. I just want to wake up and have this all be a horrible dream. I'm not strong. I want her back.
