Looking for Control Freaks & Worry Warts - Part 4!!!

Wow dormouse!!!! Just read all that - it's great that you and "SIL" have worked it out so the kids can still be siblings! That sounds like a crazy busy trip - my only suggestion is to make sure everyone agrees to do their own thing when they want to, and don't pressure yourself to make sure everyone has a good time. Just make your plans but be flexible and willing to go with the flow once you get there.

Please.... post your plans though - we'd love to see them! We did a grand gathering with my DH's family - just my inlaws and SIL and her family. It was quite stressful at times, but only because of SIL's bad attitude. We need a do-over with just us and the inlaws so they can actually enjoy WDW.

WOW Dormouse! I am agreeing w/Kara. We've never had that many people along on a trip, but went 4 yrs ago w/my ILs and 2 yrs ago w/my parents and sis, after a few trips to WDW w/just the 4 of us. We had a blast both times w/the families, the difference being that we had some "us" time w/out our ILs on that trip -- they went off and did their own thing occasionally, and we didn't w/my family -- they thought they needed to be w/us every waking second, and I was so worried about making everyone happy (actually did that w/both families, as that is in my nature). This year, it's back to just the 4 of us, and I am so looking forward to it. I can be in control, and not have to worry about pleasing anyone.:) How fun that you have at least one WDW virgin! What a wonderful time to be going! I wish that we could go in Oct, but I'd have to take the kids out of school more than 2 days. Can't wait to hear more! popcorn::

Tessa - Oct is my fave time to go! That is awesome!

Kara - Thanks for the MM review!

Lydia - Cute crafts!! OK - What's Etsy. Not sure I want to know!:) (but I will Google it!;))

Tammie - I am totally jealous of your 2 month vacation! We love Palace Station. I haven't stayed there, but have gone there to gamble! I've heard that the locals love it.

Hi Shelly!

So, w/3 days to go until I have to call to make ADRs and I am doubting them. I feel like I should have back-ups because I've heard about people having trouble getting what they want (and I have no back-ups!). We've always done the same TS meals, and this time we're trying new things:scared1:. Chef Mickey's dinner is a definite (no back-up for that night), Crystal Palace breakfast (no-back-up), and now I am not sure about MGM (yes, I am going to call it MGM because I cannot remember what it is now called). We have always done H&V/Fantasmic Pkg. I am thinking MM/Fantasmic Pkg. or 50's or Sci-Fi w/out Fantasmic Pkg. We will also do Hard Rock at DD on our first day there. My girls haven't been in ages, and Tay doesn't even remember it ($15 coupon also helped make that decision :)). I'll get it figured out by Friday, and it's so much fun trying to decide! We talk about it every night at dinner lately.

i love thinking of all of the adr combinations. I think it drove my family nuts though.

im making strawberry jam today. should be interesting. I still have to get the jars.

girls are dying for school to start. So am I....

debbie needs pixie dust sent her way. the dog is at the vet and not doing well. just keep her in your thoughts

Oh my God what an awful day! It starts with my husband waking me up at 5:30 am because he was just downstairs with Chelsea & she wasn't doing good. Yesterday she started vomiting & not eating and then today she wouldn't even get up. My Mom is beside herself! We brought her in and the vet said that we can treat her with antibiotics, fluids and insulin and see how it works. She does have an infection so it could be the core of the problem. Her glucose was horribe and she was dehydrated. Unfortunately there is the chance she doesn't respond to treatment at all. We had to leave her there and decided we will bring her home for the evenings and back for the next couple mornings. She has been our miracle puppy her whole life so we are hoping for another miracle! None of us can stop crying!

Hiya all

Oh Debbie, I do feel for you, hope all does go well, though we know you will be fearing the worst. :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:.

Tessa

Erin, I am also a HUGE Sleeping Beauty fan - in fact, just last week Ally and I pulled it out and watched it. I guess cause she was one of the "original" princesses, that's who I grew up with. But Ally said she'd LOVE to meet her in her blue dress! Wait til I show her the pic with Chloe!!!

Oh Chloe loooved meeting her in her blue dress and also loved explaining to my brother the reason why she was in blue not pink hahha tsk tsk
I also have to say this girl was so so so lovely, she was English so that was handy when talking with the kids hahahha also after we saw her we were just waiting for my folks and she came past us and said Bye to the girls both by name it was soooo sweet :lovestruc

Aww Erin - your pix are just fine the way they are! They came out great. I just love the look of the DLP's castle. So pretty. It doesn't look too crowded - was it? What hotel did you stay at? We stayed at the Newport Bay Club (I think that's the name). It's such a different experience compared to WDW!

And I CANNOT believe how tall Chloe is! So pretty!:lovestruc

Awww thanks Cammie i think so too hahahah, yeh she has grown so much in the last few months she is now over an inch taller than my brother's fiancee :lmao: which of course Cj finds hysterical
Yeh i really like the castle too .. It was pretty crazy, most of those pics were taken at 8 at the beginning of EMH at 10 we almost got ran down by people running for Space Mountain, it was crazy :scared1: .. We stayed in Santa Fe, it was nice but quite basic, last time we went we stayed in Sequoia Lodge and we loved that lots!!

Erin [/COLOR]- Your DP pics are wonderful! I'm glad you had fun, but sorry Erin was sick. Poor baby. She's beautiful!
Ah thanks Pam, yeh it was horrid she felt so sick. saturday wa shell for that reason, thankfully sunday she felt a bit better and carried on feeling so through the day

Erin, I'm glad you had a good time! Thanks for sharing your pics! Chloe is so pretty. I got excited to see the Cars ride - we're getting one at DL out here - well at California Adventure. I don't think it will be ready NEXT WEEK when we're there, though.

Aww you guys are so sweet thanks Tammie

We love the Cars ride, so very cute

Hiya all,

Erin - loved the pics - brought back memories..... Did you meet many of the characters - or is Chloe getting too grown up for that now???

We met as many as we could face really, Chloe still loves meeting them it is still all about characters and rides for her, i love that :lovestruc however it is a little hellish in DLP to meet most characters so we kinda stuck to the organised ones, Mickey, Minnie, Woody, Sleeping Beauty and then just grabbed the White Rabbit and Daisy quickly ... I have to say she was disappointed that we didn't get many as it really is a fave of hers to do, ah well WDW in Feb will make it all better hahahhahaha

None of us can stop crying!

Debbie wanted to send you huuuuge hugs

Ok girls i have to turn in i officially turn a whole yr older tomorrow and am not in the biggest b'day mood, but my baby girl will be so i better get ready

Take care all of you and hi to everyone :flower3:

I'll keep you in my thoughts...I hope she pulls through and everything clears up quickly.

Laura - How did the jam turn out? How fun!

Debbie - I am sorry about your baby. You all are in my thougts and prayers.

Cammie - I will beat up Stella for you. (Just got caught up on Jonas at dinner w/the girls.:rotfl:)

Hi everyone! I'm at the library! Ha! I dropped Meg at band practice, ran a couple of errands, and ducked into the library to see if they have the Miley Cyrus book for Tay. She's been wanting to buy it, but I won't pay $25 for it when I know that she won't read it. Of course they don't have it. There were open computers, and I jumped on! Otherwise, at home I won't get on until later tonight, if I'm lucky. Fantasy football is starting at my house. I need to get fixed up w/my work laptop at home. I don't like Dising on the iTouch much. I need to give it another try until I maybe get an emachine in Dec.

Thanks girls for REALLY being there for me! She is home now. They are fighting the infection and they got her blood/glucose count back to a good level. She is still pretty lethargic but I am hoping it's her body fighting the illness and all her counts whacked out. Time will tell and hopefully she will tell us what she needs. We love her too much but I know you girls understand. Thanks for listening 2 me and the pixie dust can't hurt, right! She's a fighter! Let's see if she still wants to fight!:sad1:

Debbie - Pixie dust for Chelsea! It sounds like she is doing a little better. How old is she? Hang in there.

It's Hump Day! Vacation and ADRs on Friday!:yay:

I always hate telling people she is 13 because I just cant bare to hear someone say that maybe its time for her to go. I am so worried. I am so upset. We are bringing her in today for more treatment for the infection. She does have a fever. He told us she needed at least 3 days of this treatment. He said it could work and he also said that there was a chance she wouldn't respond to it. I am so upset. I wanted her to be bouncing around the house again but who was I kidding!? I want her here longer!!!!! I can't stop crying!

Just came home from dropping her off for another IV of nutrients and antibiotics. Her glucose levels are in a good place again. We helped her walk in the back yard with a towel sling and she did go peeps & poops on her own so I think thats good. She need to build her strength up again. She is either going to fight this infection & get better or not. I am hoping we will get some more time with her!

that's all you really can ask for. I remember with Max that all I wanted was time. just enjoy it with her.

Rainy day here. I need to get my butt in gear and get my playground project done. Juat like I am in school Haha...

did you see they lost another CM yesterday at Indy Jones. My heart goes out to him and the whole CM family.

Debbie - We had our Bailey put to sleep on Valentine's Day. It was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. It was Megan's first dog. She had been deteriorating, and went downhill fast in the last week, then the last day. Hugs to you. I hope that she gets better and you get to have more time w/her.

Ha Laura! I can be a major procrastinator on stuff like that! It's hard to get onto the kids for that when I am just as bad, if not worse. Don't want them to have my bad habits, tho!

It is sad about the CM. It just seems weird that there have been a few in a row after so many years without.

We've recorded, and have been watching WDW shows from the Travel Channel.

It's Darrin's fishing night tonight. I am taking the girls to the mall to get the last of their BTS stuff (I hope), and dinner. The mobs will be out this weekend for tax-free weekend.

I did hear about that Indy actor at WDW - what makes me so mad though is that the media is making such a huge deal out of it. I mean, they employ tens of thousands so natually it is a law of averages and from time to time this will happen. But there are some pretty crazy stunts in that show, so I'm sure there was a certain amount of risk involved. And the mono driver was just a freak accident. Does anyone know what actually happened there? Was it his fault or the other driver? I never did hear any more about it......

Debbie - how is your puppy? I just hate it for you. It's tough to watch them age and try to fight. 13 is and isn't old. I mean, my parents had a pug that lived to 17 and in perfect health until the very end. Hopefully she's doing better today and fighting hard. Just keep positive!

What's the JB news with Stella????

And last but definitely not least........

Happy Birthday Erin!!!!

i can't imagine how nuts things could be with a tax free holiday. What is exempted from tax that day? We don't have tax on clothes yet....

anyone have the cricut? I found a refurb one for $100. I need to know if it is good deal. I'm contemplating it because as beth gets older we will be doing a lot more presentation type things and having good lettering is important. Can you tell I am procrastinating on my playground presentation? I need a good excuse to buy one especially after buying really expensive windows.

We had tax free weekend in August in SC. It was clothes, computers, TVs, etc. Basically anything that kids could use in school, including college, so that's why a lot of electronics were included. But with only 6% tax, it's basically paying full price less 6%. I never understood why people rushed out, when you can find MUCH better deals, pay tax, and still come out way ahead.
