Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew of an app i could use for the Iphone that would help me for exposure bracketing for HDR. I would like the app to allow me to plug in the settings for an EV 0 exposure and then tell me what settings i would need to use for -2, -1, +1, +2.

My camera will do 3 bracketed shots but only up to 30 sec. I ran into trouble with this on the last trip because I had a shot of 25 sec for EV-0 and it would not allow the plus 2 unless i was in bulb. Bulb would be fine but i struggle with what + 1 and +2 would be in these situations.

The perfect app for me looks to be EV Calc 1.0 (halfway down on the linked page) But that page is older and i cant find this app in the app store.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ahhh. I think I just figured out that you are not just using the iPhone camera :rotfl2:

In a crude way, something i read about in my astrophotography experimentation was bump up the ISO for each stacked photo.

Yes this app is to help me with exposures for my DSLR not my Iphone. I just want the app on the Iphone to help me.

The photo below was a 15 sec exposure. If i wanted to do 5 bracketed shots the bracketing would not work on my t2i for anything over 30sec unless i was in manual. Where i need help is how to determine was would be +1, +2 -1, -2

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong (that's what the internet is best at), but the +1, +2, etc for HDR bracketing represents a photographic "stop" which is just a double or half of the light you let in. So if you have a 15sec exposure for your base exposure, you would just double that to 30sec and then double that again to 60sec for a +2.

Does that make sense or am I not understanding your question?

This makes sense. Excactly what I was thinking as I read the question.

you guys both got it right. So on the opposite side if i wanted -1, -2 i would take my 15sec and cut in half (7.5) and then cut in half again? (3.75)

Am i getting this correct?
