Looking for an ECV, used with higher weight capacity

Where would you look? It needs to have a 350lb weight capacity. Dh's aunt is coming to live here and we want her to be mobile so she can hang with us.
I've checked Craig's list.

I would suggest going over to the disABILITIES Forum. One of the first threads is the disABILITIES FAQs. On Post #2 we have a lot of information for people with mobility and/or stamina problems and suggested off-site rental sources. I would also look for a used one on E-bay or call a medical supply store near you and see if they have any used ones. They might even have a rent to buy option. You could also check with her health insurance and see if they would purchase one for her, like a hoverround or similar. If you have a prescription from her doc, the insurance might pay for a new one instead of a used one. With a prescription from Dr, a ECV is considered durable medical equipment.

I bought mine specifically from a local family owned mobility store. They had new ones and they had used ones that they sold on consignment. Check your area and see what is available. Look in the phone book for medical supply locations. And keep looking on ebay and craigslist-- new things come out everyday!

Thanks, I didn't realize there were 'mobility stores' but I see several in my city. I'll call around tomorrow. I don't want to rent, I want to buy. I'll check with her medicare too. Thanks everyone!!
