After checking wegoshop.com, dw has decided she would rather shop on her own. We are staying at BCV and would like to pick up some supplies on the ride over from MCO. What do you suggest? The easier to get to the better.

the Publix over by the outlet malls is very, very nice. It is a huge store with a tremendous selection and variety. No "rewards" card needed to get the best deals. They have a great deli and produce and dairy section. It is always very, very clean and well-stocked. Prices beat Goodings and it is a lot nicer than the Winn Dixie on down the road.

For the Publix, take 417 to exit 6, this will put you on 536. Turn right at the intersection with 535. Then turn right at Vineland Road (right before the overpass for I-4), keep going straight to the back of the Premium Outlets. To get to the resort, get back on 535 (turn left from Vineland) and turn right on 536, take the second exit after the WDW arch, that will put you on Buena Vista, follow the signs to Beach Club.

Albertson's just off Orange Blossom Trail is a very easy to store to access on the way from the airport. It's just off the toll road. When you exit off to the right, turn left at the light, and the Albertson's is just a little ways on the right. It's in a shopping center.

I second the Publix. We had our own car, so transportation wasn't an issue, but we shopped there twice and were very pleased with selection, service and prices.

BTW there's a Walgreen's on the same plot of land if anyone needs one.

From 528

Take exit #1- toward Sea World

then Turn Left on International Drive - go about 3.7 miles

then Turn Right on VINELAND AVE

You should see Publix on the Right

Not sure why your dw decided against wegoshop but I second the Albertson's idea. I fax my order in and than you just have it rung up and go. They will shop for everything (produce, bakery, fresh sliced deli as well as anything else you can get in the supermarket.) You can specify brands and sizes or ask for sale items or generic.

If you are interested fax to Kate @ Albertson's, Orlando (407) 857-0132

I have used Albertson's with the fax in method, and it worked great!! Took almost no time at all. I recommend it. But, as you said, your DW wants to shop for herself.

I second second the publix. It's definitely the cleanest, nicest shopping chain in the southeast. We drive down and usually end up going to at least one to re-stock.

I'd avoid the walmart like the plague, unless you regularly shop in walmart-the ones down in orlando are just overrun with every obnoxious sunburnt tourist you could imagine-I shudder when I remember the one time we went-never again!

Publix all the way. Try their white mountain bread. Atkins be darned!
