kevin wants me to make this dessert that his mother always made at thanksgiving. only he doesnt know how and i have never eaten it. so i figured you guys can do anything!!! LOL anyway, he calls it pineapple marshmallow. and it has pineapple, marshmallows and whip cream in it. but that is all i know about it.

can you help me??

1 large tub of cool whip I like the extra creamy
2 small packages of instant pistasio pudding
1 small can of crushed pineapple
and marsmallows to your heats desire....I use about a cup.

Soak the marhmallows in the juice from the pineapple while mixing other ingredients. (you don't have to do this I think it jsut tastes better).

Mix cool whip and pudding together add pineapple and marshmallows and mix well. Chill and enjoy.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

Is it Watergate salad? We make it and love it.

1 tub cool whip
1 box pistachio instant pudding
1 8 oz can crushed pineapple
1 1/2 cups of mini marshmallows

Mix all ingredients except cool whip. Next fold in the cool whip and chill.

do you prepare the pudding or leave it as a powder? (i know dumb question but i really dont know!)

Angela

I just looked it up on the web. It says

"don't make the pudding, just pour the box into the cool whip".

PS. the recipe I saw said you could also add coconut and/or walnuts if you wish.

Sounds good. Maybe I'll make some too! :D

we used to make one with

Cool whip

Drained pineapple - small can crushed

about 1/2 cup chopped marishino cherries

this salad is affectionately called "green goo" in our family. My sister-in-law adds cottage cheese to her version (I suppose that protein helps justify all the sugar.....).

Here's one of my favorites:

Macaroni Fruit Salad

1/2 lb. Acine De Pepe macaroni (cooked & drained)
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg (beaten)
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. flour
1/2 cup pineapple juice (use the juice from the canned pineapple)
1/4 tsp salt
2 cans of mandarin oranges (drained)
1 can crushed pineapple (drained)
1 can chunk pineapple (drained)
8 oz cool whip

1. Cook macaroni and drain.

2. To make the "dressing", combine sugar, flour and salt. Stir in pineapple juice and lemon juice. Add beaten egg. Cook until thick - and then cool.

3. Combine the macaroni, dressing and drained fruit.

4. Mix in 8 oz contained or cool whip.

5. Cover and refrigerate.

To make an even more fruity taste, double the ingredients which were used to make the "dressing".

This stuff is unbelievably delicious! :D

Watergrate salad is a super simple and delicious recipe to make! Adding cocnut and nuts really gives it a little extra punch, too.

This is great for a crowd, as all ages seem to like it.

Bet my husband would like this one. I'll have to give it a try. Anyone know why it is called Watergate salad?
