Just skimmed 11 pages looking for a Poly Lover's thread...if it's there I missed it.

My wait list came through and we are going to try the new studios for Halloween night.

I had all sorts of plans before I got this wait list.

Now, back to square one.

First thing, we have a standard view, so no need for any requests....not worrying about it.

But, we want to do a few things.

1. Visit Trader Sam's early evening prior to dinner.

2. Order the 'Ohana Feast from room service.

3. Go out to the beach and watch the fireworks over the castle, or - take the monorail over to BLT and go to Top of the World. Leaning toward Poly beach as we've done TOTW many times. Might also watch the water show. (Won't do the Luau.)

4. Get up next morning and have Tonga Toast from Captain Cooks.

5. Go check in at BWV as early as possible after breakfast - may be 8-9am. (Not expecting a ready room.)

So is Trader Sam's worth a one time visit? I do want to see it.

Has anyone tried the Ohana Feast? We can't get a time for the restaurant until Monday two days after we go to BWV so decided to do this instead. Plus, the fact that I am a diabetic means I eat small meals, so buffets no longer work well for me. I can just avoid the carbs with the feast and eat the meat and veggies and be bad with the bread pudding a little at a time. Same with Tonga Toast - I get to have a 'bite' only and must order something else that is sensible for me.
I've read that there is a lot of food. Would two orders be enough for three with the feast?

With my new eating plan, I am now in the mix more for the experiences.

I would try to get a reservation 24- 48 hours before, just in case people cancelled for O'Hana

I had read about 'Ohana's Feast for room service, but forgot about it. So after reading your post, I had to do a search and see what I could find. Did not find any pics, but sure sounds like a winner for a room service order!
Your plan sounds great. Curious why you want to be at BWV 8-9am? I would hang around PVB longer and enjoy a little more time there.

We are going to Epcot so we will park and check in and then walk in through IG. If the room is ready we'll unpack first. I've often been lucky and gotten an early room. We are also driving so not as homeless as someone who has arrived by ME.

I'm pretty familiar with the rest of the Poly and have stayed there quite often prior to their renovation/conversion.

I was also looking for pictures of the room service. If it all works out I will take some pictures!

As an FYI, there is an extensive, active thread on the resorts section about the Poly which you may find helpful on both villa rooms and Poly in general.:thumbsup2 I read on that thread that the Ohana Feast room service is very good. Some have said actually better than dining at the restaurant. They have suggested that the food is quite abundant, so if feeding a family of 4 adults, for example, order for 3 at most. ENJOY!:cheer2::goodvibes

Yes, I found that thread. I think that is where I actually found out about the Feast.

I'd love to see pictures of the presentation of the food, but haven't been able to find any so in a couple of weeks I guess I'll try to post my own.

I guess I also just figured us DVC people would have all the info well documented as we are usually up on everything!

We were too busy eating the Ohana Feast while watching fireworks from our lake view studio to take pictures of the food.
We are not normally room service people, but this meal was great. It is on our list for future stays.

We ordered about 30 minutes before fireworks. It arrived around the start of the fireworks.
After we ordered, we had Walter make us a couple to go beverages.

When we were at PVB, there were a lot of people ordering room service in the Moorea longhouse. Far more than I have seen at other resorts.

Seem to recall a few posts with pics. Really looked GOOD!:goodvibes If I come across it, I will post. ENJOY!

Nice to hear!

We are really looking forward to our very short stay!

I had a wait list for lake view and standard. Standard came up so we'll have to walk outside to catch the fireworks, but not a problem......it will be a resort evening with no parks, so lots of time to relax and enjoy a dinner.

Can those who have ordered comment on quantity? Should we order 1 or 2 adult servings for 2 adults, 2 kids who will pick at everything but the steak? We are thinking of feeding the kids from Captain Coook's earlier; is 1 adult portion enough for two hungry adults?
