Someone posted a while ago about a bag that locks both the zipper and the handles to a chair or something like that so that the whole family can be in the water and leave their stuff attached to a beach chair or umbrella. I think it was called the Keep It Safe and Secure bag, but I didn't save the link, and I can't find it just by googling. Does anybody remember the link or have it saved? I would be very appreciative! :flower3:

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! See, I was misspelling kyss. My mind has gone to mush with all the planning. But I'm still smiling because we sail in 21 days! :goodvibes:goodvibes

It stands for Keep Your Stuff Safe. I have one and love it. Use it all the time. And it is a perfect size to be a carryon.

I love mine too. When I bought mine it said they were currently out of stock, but we don't cruise again for a while so I just ordered it. It still came within 2 weeks with the personalized embroidery on it and all. The price for the large was the same as the medium so I got the large. Perfect size for a beach bag. It has a couple pockets on the inside and mesh pockets on the outside that are perfect size for water bottles, sun screen or flipflops.

I just watched the video and my first thought was, you could do this on your own for a couple dollars!

Get a luggage lock and any chain at the hardware store - probably a way better one than they have here. Make sure your bag has a zipper that has two zipper pulls so you can secure the zipper and...... voila. :teacher:

Thank you for making me aware of this even existing though because I don't think I ever knew about it and we spend a lot of time at beaches. We just bring the bare minimum, but I always worry that people see me stashing my iPhone back into my beach bag when I go into the water and that is way more valuable than anything else I ever carry and is a hot topic for theft.

I agree! I have a Kyss bag and while I love it, the chain and lock are pretty flimsy. You could do the same on your own with better quality security. I figure, at best it is going to deter someone from wanting to deal with the extra time of getting into my Kyss bag and risk getting caught. It certainly isn't going to keep someone out who is insistent about getting in there.

I wish they offered it in different sizes. I'd like one that wasn't so big.

Great idea! I just received the packing cubes for inside of my luggage, and they have two zippers. I think I'm going to get the chain since I have a lock. The cube fits in my regular bag (I bought the medium), and I can run the chain through the handles of our regular bag and secure to something else!

Why does it feel like this bag is being advertised here on the Dis, at least twice a month!! It's getting really annoying. I think posters are saying they're "wondering what something is called" but really they're just a huge advertisement. I'm so done with hearing about this stupid bag. The jig is up folks, go somewhere else and advertise, k thanks.:sad2:

as I think the bag is wonderful i'm very glad to talk it up. if anyone wants to ask what the name is, how it works, is it worth the money or how do I get one i'll be answering.
do I have a interest in that company? no. do I have a piece in the company that sells packing cubes? no, but I always see threads on these. is that annoying?
i'm kind of hoping that your post is a joke and I just didn't get it. sorry if it is. its sometimes hard to read the way something was intended.

Isn't it easier to just by a $15 cable lock (like the ones you get for bikes) and a luggage zipper lock?

That way you can use any bag you want, and you can always use the cable lock for other stuff at home.

And honestly, the nylon on that Kyss bag isn't slash proof any way. For almost $50, you can get a Pac Safe bag that has anchors and a lock, plus it is slash proof.

A retractible cable lock ($5-$15) works just as well and fits in your pocket when not in use. We bought one to secure multiple suitcases together when traveling by train.

I've looked into Pac Safe bags before getting a Kyss bag and none are remotely similar in size, and locks for that price. Maybe I'm missing something? I've even looked at the bags in a store, and talked to a salesperson about my need to secure the bag to something so that I can leave it unattended and he told me that Pac Safe bags do not anchor or lock themselves to anything. It's merely a deterrent for snatch and run situations. You could buy separate locks and rig it to something, but not by itself. Can you point me to a Pac Sun bag that holds as much as a medium tote/Kyss bag, all locking compartments and the ability to anchor and lock itself to a chair, etc? A back pack is a bonus. I've been seriously considering this but it's more than twice the cost of a Kyss bag, and does not actually lock. http://www.amazon.com/Pacsafe-Luggage-Venture-Black-Large/dp/B00AE0NWX8/

Exactly. I'd never even heard of the Kyss bag till here. Then again, I hadn't heard of a lot of things that would make my beach and cruise vacation go a lot smoother if I wasn't on this board, including waterproof cameras, where to eat, what reservations to make, where to park, where to stay the night before...all of these come up very often. I'm not one that's easily swayed by advertising. If I was, I'd have 100 ShamWows, 50 SlapChops, and whatever else they hawk on late night infomercials. I truly do appreciate many of the recommendations on this board, including the Kyss bag, but I didn't blindly buy one without fully researching to see if it was right for me and my needs. I looked all over online. I looked in brick and mortar stores. I talked to salespeople at a travel bag specialty store regarding my needs to find an alternative to the Kyss bag. Nothing I researched, including the frequently mentioned competitor, Pac Sun bags, met my needs, so Kyss bag, I went with. I like it. It works for me. Does that mean it'll work for everyone? Nope, but I am thankful for the kind folks on here that brought it to my attention, so thank you!

Shoebuy.com frequently has $30 off $60 coupons if you are on their list, or if you use V.Me by Visa to check out. I recently got a $20 off $60 code that I used for stride rite shoes which hardly ever go on sale at my local mall.

I understand the part about not locking to a chair, but I own pacsafes (2 of them) and it takes quite a while to actually screw off the anchor. It's enough time to deter someone on Castaway Cay from taking off with the bag.

In any event, we travel alot and that Kyss bag does not look that travel friendly. We tend to use cross-body bags and backpacks, not shopping tote-looking Kyss bags (personal preference).

If I were you, I'd wait for a Shoebuy coupon and go with a Pacsafe for multi-use purposes. I also usually pack plastic zip ties and I zip tie whatever I need to secure. IMO it's not usually the actual lock that protects your stuff, it's the deterrence factor. You can also buy a $5 travel lock if you need for the zipper.

These links are expired, but it's to show you that the coupons exist and come up every few months (esp if you're on their mailing list):

I think the Kyss bag and Pac Safe bags serve two completely different purposes. When I take my kids to the water park or a beach, the type of bag I want is something designed like a Kyss bag for towels, changes of clothing, room for snacks and drinks and outside pockets for sunscreen in case of leaks (or sprays!). I am well aware that it isn't 100% thief proof, but it does supply some sort of deterrent. Now, if I am doing some type of touring activity like NYC or Europe I would use something like the Pac Safe bag. The chances of us doing a water activity or putting that bag down and walking away for awhile is nil.

oh that is very well said, it sums both products up nicely.
the kyss bag is only meant, as mentioned earlier, as a deterrent. if someone wants your stuff there getting it wether its in a kyss bag or a pac safe. its the purpose of the bag that matters.
yes, you said it nicely.

as a side note, the lock and chain on the kyss bag tucks in so you don't see it till you need it but you don't have to hunt it down. i think buying a lock and chain, while it would work, would be a bit of a pain and you have to carry it anyways. i'm very happy with my kyss bag. ::yes::

Just got off the Fantasy a week ago, and I LOVED my new Kyss bag. :thumbsup2 It was perfect for when we were riding the AquaDuck, and on Castaway Cay. Much like putting in a security system at home or bars on your basement windows, they are only a deterrent for those "grab and go this looks good" type of thieves ... if someone truly wants what YOU have, they WILL get it. For our Disney purposes, it was fabulous. We used it at the resort pool as well. :goodvibes

I would have never heard of them if it hadn't been a post on these boards, so while they might come up frequently, they certainly have helped many of us out. :cool1: So thanks to all those folks that led me in the right direction !

Agreed. It ultimately boils down to finding what works to suit your individual needs. I keep wishing the Kyss bag came in a backpack, and I keep wishing Pac Safes came with locking features like the Kyss bag. Either way, I'm very thankful for the recommendations. :thumbsup2
