Looking for a good elliptical machine on a budget

I posted this week about missing a great deal at Sears, and what I was looking for is an elliptical machine.

I do not want a piece of junk, but I don't want top-of-the-line either. I would love something in the $500-600 range, but will consider a little more if it gets me a better product.

Anyone know of deals, or even what brands offer the most bang for your buck?

I would LOVE to find a used one on Craiglist, but the only things offered for the past 6 months have been 10-year-old cheapos, which I don't want. So I am primarily looking for something new.

In addition to Craigslist, watch your local paper classifieds both for "by owner" ads and for notices of delinquency sales from local self-storage places. DH used to work for a moving company that had a storage warehouse, and they sold a LOT of exercise equipment when the renters stopped paying the storage fees!

Do you have used equipment store or ST. Vinnies, good will? I have seen them there. I picked my bike up at a garage sale a few summers ago and use it once in a while LOL
