One of the casinos (we don't gamble, but we like to go have dinner, walk around, shop, maybe see a show)

Sturbridge Village

Boston (duck boat tour, Fanueil hall, etc)

Mystic Seaport/Aquarium

Newport

Dinner at the Gelston House, show at the Goodspeed Opera House, stay in a Bed and Breakfast near there

DH and I were thinking of spending a weekend at the Deerfield Inn and touring historic Deerfield and the Yankee Candle Co Store and Car Museum.

Love Newport, R.I. - lots to do!
Just went to the Mohegan Sun in Ct for a concert a couple of weekends ago and absolutely loved it there, lots of restaurants and shopping and gambling too - we had a great time!

We just did this last weekend for my birthday! I got a great hotel on Priceline Providence Renaissance for $52, my sister took my DD overnight and we had such a great time! We went to dinner at the Broadway Bistro and then went to the Providence Place mall for a bit and then back to the hotel.
On Saturday we went to a huge and great farmers market/ art show and then we walked around the Brown University area - had some excellent (and cheap) falafel and kabob wraps at East Side Pockets.
Finished the afternoon by walking all around Federal Hill and visiting all of the italian specialty shops buying pasta and other yummies for dinner.
Just about a perfect birthday! Providence was lots of fun.

Salem! Such a cute area and you can snuggle up with him while you get scared on a ghost walk. There is one company that offers amazing ghost walks that offer you real Salem history beyond the kitsch (sp?) of the witch stuff. Find a hotel on priceline, if that's the one where you name your own price. We stayed at a Doubletree in Lowell, MA, which is a 4 star for $43/night. It was about a 30 min drive to Salem, but I'm sure you could find something closer!

Stockbridge, MA: Norman Rockwell Museum, lots of shops, foliage, The Red Lion Inn, etc.

my vote is for Newport...stay at the cliffside inn ( www.cliffsideinn.com )...it is a fabulous b&b...our favorite room is the attic room. Breakfast and afternoon tea are included and Newport is a lot of fun to explore. Ocean Drive is wonderfully romantic. We like to pick up a pizzaand take it out there and eat under the moonlight.

You can do a sailing cruise from the Wharfs. So many old buildings to see...the two air craft carriers are fun to drive by just because WHOA!!! those things are HUGE!

Tons of wonderful things in newport...it's our favorite getaway.

Mohegan Sun is amazing...great food, entertainment (gambling or not) and the spa is amazing.
