looking for a DVD Camcorder

not sure if this is where to ask or not...but i figured, better here than anywhere.

I am looking for a DVD Camcorder, we have a new baby, more trips planned to dis, alot of recordable type things comming up.

Im hoping to spend under 300.00, what should i look for in a dvd camcorder. an any suggestions on models./styles would be greatly appreciated.
