Looking back on FP+, Magic Band and MDE Experiences

I would consider myself and spouse as DW veterans, making our first trip on our honeymoon in 1977. So we have seen everything from A-E tickets and paper admission to the current systems. While I was not sure how well the changes to the FP system would work out, or how much I would love, or hate, the MB's, or using the MDE app, I will say I was very skeptical. In fact, our first time using a MB to get in our hotel room was a failure and took a half hour at the front desk to fix. But we have made a number of trips during the evolution of these changes, including a "grandparents" trip 2 weeks ago, and I have to say I am a total believer. Everything worked great. No problems with MB's, changing FP's on the fly for 8 people and making/changing ADR's was a snap, and no glitches. Even our 4-year old grandson would walk right up to the hotel door, tap with his MB, and Voila! (Though that may have been a little unnerving!!). Anyway, I was just curious how other people who may have been non-believers, or like us, seriously skeptical believers, now feel after what seems to be most of the kinks worked out of the various systems. Maybe we were just lucky. We'll be back in Sept for F&W and we'll come back complaining. But for us, as of now, all the changes have been for the better. Any other converts out there that are willing to admit it?

Not a convert since I never hated the system to start with. Like you we've been going for years, over 33 years. We've seen a lot of changes and just roll with them. I wasn't a fan of the paper fast pass and we rarely used them, I'm not running to get a piece of paper that tells me when I can ride a ride. We were there during the testing of the MBs and had no problems with them then and haven't had any since. Well, that's not totally true. There has been the occasional glitch in trying to charge to them, which I don't even try any more. Twice I've had to stand at the front desk for about 1/2 hour while they tried to figure out why they were not registering, one of those times there were 3 of us and mine worked, my son and DILs didn't at first, once at YC they couldn't figure it out so someone had to walk me to my room and let me in then bring my MB to me when they got it working. I had used it earlier at ASSp and had been in the park all day, got a text to see the front desk. I'm not even sure how they knew it might not work. FP+ doesn't bother me, again I don't use it a lot, we just go with the flow.
