Looking at a United flight with transfer thru Dulles. Good track record?

I've never gone through Dulles before and was wondering if this was one of those airport/airline combos that always seem to be plagued with delays and cancellations. Any thoughts?

Depends on the time of year when you will be travelling. If you are transferring in the late afternoon in the summer, weather delays (for thunderstorms) are very common.

I hate Dulles. I hate Untied at Dulles worse than I hate anything else travel related in the world, including the armpit known as DET.

I have NEVER been on a timely flight in and out of Dulles, and Untied sent me on a three hour snipe hunt there after making an emergency landing in Richmond then busing me to Dulles, then telling me they couldn't get me out to my destination for at least two more days and they weren't going to pay for a hotel or anything...wait--it gets better. Then they told me if I could get another carrier to take my ticket that was fine, but they wouldn't do any legwork for me. This was after THIER HUMAN ERROR MISTAKE landed me on a foamed strip in Richmond eleven hours earlier to begin with!

I finally gave up and bought a VERY expensive ticket on US Air to get where I was going, and have NEVER flown Untied since.

Yikes, ducklite, that's awful. What could they have been thinking??? I suspected there would be some horror stories.

Thanks for the tip, lost*in*cyberspace. I suppose it's something to consider with any southern airport.

Oh well, I guess I'll think about it a little more.
