Heading next Tuesday…
Just opened the app & 2 rides “temporarily closed” at DCA & 4 at DL-every single one are some of the most popular!
Oooh boy gonna need an extra helping of patience next week!

Yep, this is how it’s been. I am not sure if Disney is trying to address this or not. It’s pretty bad.

I went a few weeks ago and RSR didn’t open until 4:30/5pm. And multiple others down all day.

We saw multiple down rides Sun thru Thu last week Little mermaid hit 50 min and Monsters was over an hour in DCA. Winnie the pooh over 40, Pirates was an hour. Space and haunted mansion over 2 hours.

In my small time experience with ride maintenance it’s next to impossible to get parts and supplies right now, not to mention experienced staffing. Three to six months at least, so what might’ve been a quick and lasting fix with a shiny new part is now a lengthy and reoccurring issue.
I agree staffing may be a big issue. I think it's also Disney's priorities to not take the rides down long enough to just fix them correctly. When was the last time RSR had an extended refurb? (I am asking because I geniunely don't know.)

I know this is apples and oranges but I live next to a large regional, and seasonally open, amusement park Their dozens of rides span from over a 100 years old to some brand new, and a mismatch of 'off the shelf' to rides designed in house. There has been almost zero issues with down time this year and only one or two rides stayed closed, waiting for necessary parts from Europe. And even that is definitely not more than normal years. They have far less influence or money to flex compared to Disney, to get any kind of expedition from manufacturers. In my mind, the saving grace is their extended "off season", to do the majority of their maintenance. I wonder if time (or lack their of) is more of the issue for Disneyland.

I can't reconcile how I am seeing almost no issue in my local park due to Covid part delays but constant rides down at Disney. It's getting to the point of the Candy Cane Inn for me... yes, I believed them, but now it seems like their are other factors at play too.

My family owns a small theme park. How often do you go to your local park, perhaps it’s luck? We’ve had all the same issues Disney is having but we only have a handful of rides and we had plenty of days where nothing went down, but it was still way too often than what’s acceptable for what we want for our business. In our case it was never an issue of getting anything expedited, it simply doesn’t exist. We’ve had companies pull out of huge orders completely at the last second, not answer calls for weeks, things I never imagined were possible before Covid. On top of that, demand is impossible to even come close to meeting right now. I am seriously impressed with your local park, because honestly it’s been hell lol.

Oh, and yes, being seasonal is a huge plus. We do full months long maintenance every year.

Also I’m not disagreeing with you! They’re making decisions to do what they’re doing as well. Just for us, every decision has been between a rock and a hard place, and we’ve gotten the hate as well.
