Look What My Family Got Today

well my girls and i went to "petsmart" just to get cat food for the cat we allready have. the local humane soceity was there with local "older" cats. well we looked at all the cats and i wish i could take them all home...i seen this cat that melted my heart. she had been at the "pound" for just a month or so and the gal there said she had taken her home alot because she was such a great kitty. seems that lately people only want young cats or kittens. they said she was such a lover and man they are right. allready fixed and declawed. so with out a second more we brought her home.

she is goin great. fitting right in and the kids love her all ready. now if the other cat would just chill

she is just the sweetest thing. i love my other cat (dont get me wrong) cat #1 is male and is fixed as well but is for sure a male. not lovey at all just lays around (name is does sound like a typical male) hes good with the kids
always wanted a cat that was more lovey n stuff well we have had her for 10hrs and she just wants to snuggle ...i hope it last. makes it nice to have a big warm cat on these cold winter nice. poor thing shes is alittle round in the stomach....we call it Fat n sassy!!!!

She's sooo pretty! It's hard to resist. I am a cat person and it breaks my heart, that I can't help them all.
My DD9 had a humane society birthday party this year. We went to drop all of the loot that she got and ended up coming home, with a 4 year old cat too! Already declawed and fixed as well and super fat!!!
Way to go...she looks like a keeper!

That's wonderful you took in an older cat! I adopted an older cat some years back and she was a wonderful cat. Your new baby is beautiful! What are you going to name her?

She's so cute! Funny you say that about your male cat not wanting to cuddle....that's how my male cat is also--he just lays around-doesn't even care if he's by anyone. I wonder if it's a male thing? My female cat I used to have ALWAYS laid by me or on me.

I fell for one a few weeks ago. He was so beautiful ! Too bad we have two dogs and have not had any luck with cats in this house. I was at Petco and if the shelter people had been there, I would have had this cat in my arms in a heartbeat.

It is sad how people only want kittens these days. This is my cat Princess Snow-Snow, she was at the shelter for 4 months before I walked in and she melted my heart!! The best cat I have ever had!

well thanks everyone for your replies. her name is Camile not sure if we will keep that name or not. well simon the male cat is doing better this morning with is new girlfriend (thats what my kids call this new love for him) she did great over night as she found a spot next to me in bed.
i love cats dont get me wrong but i am not a kitten lover...they are to wild and crazy when they are little. and i love the thought that we "saved" her from something bad at a shelter. the shelter ppl were so happy to see us take her cause they knew how sweet she was
she is an indoor cat for sure but we live in the country and she can help keep the mice away...yuck and since i am newly divorced ..i guess i will turn into the "old cat lady" kidding
well what a feeling it gives ya to save an animal....

That was so kind of you to bring her home. It's sounds like she will get lots and lots of love. We only adopt from shelters and my first kitty was 4 when we got her so sweet and loves to snuggle then we have Trevi (little Devil! ) HE was a kitten when we got him friends had him and needed a home so well we ended up with him. He is a cuddle bug too but also a little monster knocks everything over. I would never trade them for the world! They are like my kids and DS just loves them DH not so much!

I love it when people adopt shelter cats!!!

We just brought a new cat home 2 weeks ago, she showed up as a stray at my MIL's house and DH couldn't leave her there and said we could keep her. She's a pretty calico like your new one!

I've got two other male cats and one is a snuggler and one not so much. They both sleep in my bed every night with me though. One of the boys will snuggle with anyone that comes in the house. We just laugh and say he just wants a warm lap and doesn't care who it belongs too..

I would love another cat....have three already.....

When I grow up, I want to be one of those CAT LADIES that owns about 50 of them (but all spayed or neutered, of course!!)

Oh that PetSmart, they get ya everytime. Last summer we went to buy DogFood & A group was there DS walked up to one of the people & said you wouldn't happen to have a German Shorthair Pointer would you? And wouldn't know they did So now we have 2.

Kae thats a good story...well we are into the 2nd night and things are goin good. the 2 cats are slowly making peace....maybe after a few more days things will be better for them both. any advice on how to make them fall in love (like my kids want them to do) or is it time will tell kind of thing? well thanks all for your help
