So the hubster, Cuddlebug, and I took a "spur of the moment" trip to Disney World two weeks ago for 5 days. It's only "Spur of the moment" if you consider us calling and booking it around the middle of June counts. I had been planning for an extended weekend trip in the Fall to take Cuddlebug to get her "Small World" fix (since our trip back in April, she's been hooked on Small World). I mentioned this to the hubster, that day in June while stuck in the traffic jam known as I-20 outside of Atlanta (we were going to visit grandma and grandpa) and he said 'Well I do have a week off in July from football (he's a coach)" so while stuck in traffic I book our trip. Using the last of our DPs and just barely touching our UY points.
Anyway, for the most part we had a great time. Cuddlebug has just turned two, and all that comes with it. So if you were at Epcot on July 17 around noon and saw a 2 year old lying on the sidewalk having an all out temper tantrum that leads to the resort bus stops, that was us........also if you saw a fustrated mom have an emotional break down at the restrooms between Mexico and Norway that was me as well. Also I give my regards if you were one of the unlucky guests in the The Darkroom at DHS around 10:30 that morning while my husband stood there and let our child scream (I was trying to get something taken care of...)
Anyway, the trip went well. Cuddlebug DEFINITELY got her Small World fix as we rode it at least 5 times whenever we went to MK (uh duh everyday). During one of our MK days, I decided to see if Cuddlebug wanted to see Mickey Mouse. She's become hooked on Playhouse Disney (Meeshka....) and kept saying "I go see Mickey Mouse" So off we go to Mickey's Area of MK. We see him from a distance, but Cuddlebug doesn't want to get close. So then I think, what about the Princesses?
The line was only 15 minutes long (faires were 45 minutes), so I decided to chance it. After all, the Princesses, you can see their faces and Cuddlebug couldn't be too afraid. So we wait......
Finally it's our turn. We get upt here, and Cuddlebug gets shy....Princess Auroa steps up, remians totally in character and saves the day. Not only were they so great to Cuddlebug, but at the end, Princess Belle pulls Cuddlebug onto her lap after we got some pics and lets Cuddlebug play with her dress and spends some time whispering into Cuddlebug's ear.
We have a Disney Princess plate that Cuddlebug eats off of. She got it last year for her 1st bday. However, now when she gets that plate she tells you the following story:
I saw Princess.
I sat on her lap/I sat on lap.
I took picture.
And here's what I just framed.
Now I'm thinking of taking an alone trip for a weekend in the Fall and standing in line by myself as an adult to get the Princesses autographs under each pic. Hmm do the Princesses even sign autographs?
It really was a great trip.
