Sunday 2nd October

Surprisingly after a late night last night the kids are up early and we manage to get to MGM for 9.10am! We have an ADR at sci-fi for 12pm and the plan is to hit the rides/shows we have missed so far and not repeat the ones we have done

I have a look in the shops and manage to find a fleece that I like its not the same as the one I wanted at DTD but its similar so I buy it and arrange to collect it from package pick-up later.

We head for the Indians jones show and find out its not on till later so we do sounds dangerous starring Drew Carey instead. I enjoyed this but the kids didn’t really get it..... although they weren’t scared by it being dark.
We come out of here and it still a little wait till the show starts so DH and the kids leave me and go off to do T of T again! (This is our last time in MGM on this trip and no I did not go on it :rotfl: )
I decided to try and go on the great movie ride still hoping for the cowboy one, well the line is huge they are queuing out of the door and I decide I won’t make it back to meet the others in time so I get a couple of drinks and sit on a bench till the family return. I will get the cowboy one :confused3 maybe next year.

Indiana jones turns out to be very good (I was worried it might turn out like the show in animal kingdom - Tarzan rocks - I hated that and had fears this would be similar) ds was enthralled by all the explosions and I was very impressed with a member of the audience who seemed to have great acting skills :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Next we headed off to see the power rangers but unfortunately they were not around. We took photos of loads of other characters though (I do find MGM great for character interaction.)

We arrive at sci-fi a little early and unfortunately have to wait a while for a table this is not helped by the fact that I only wanted a proper car. The kids sit in the car outside while we wait though (no pager system here either)

We get seated eventually in a front row car. I have the onion rings and DH has some chilli thing for the entrée and I had a lovely but messy bbq sandwich and DH had a steak sandwich. Surprisingly I then have a cheesecake :rotfl2: . Dh has a sundae.
We are absolutely stuffed after this meal something I will be grateful for later.

We get back to pop at 2.30pm and I persuade the kids to have a nap ready for a long night tonight, after they wake-up we all get changed and I take some photos of them in their costumes.

The magic kingdom closes at 6pm tonight and they are moving people out when we arrive, we get our wristbands and some trick or treat bags before heading to fantasyland to wait for MNSSHP to start. It’s strange heading down Main Street when everyone else is heading for the exits.
We decide to ride some of the rides while its quiet so we take our little peter pan on peter pan pirate:
The kids get loads of attention from the CM’s who all call them by their character names.
After we had done a few rides we wandered around trick or treating, unfortunately it starts to rain just as we arrive at liberty square so we go and have our free photograph taken.
The parade starts at 8pm so we shelter by the hall of presidents to wait. The rain delays the start though and it doesn’t get underway till nearer 8.30pm when the rain had stopped. :umbrella:
There is a girl going down the parade route with more candy but she seems to run out whenever she gets near to us and the poor girl suffers a lot of heckling from the crowd.
We see some great costumes when we are waiting including a whole family of incredibles even jack jack, loads of princesses and one lady who made a beautiful Cinderella. I saw other peter and Alice’s and a couple of Dorothy’s as well.
The parade was brilliant and the children were delighted to see their characters in the parade.

I asked dd to boo at the queen of hearts and she turned round and pointed at dd (poor dd jumped back a foot! It made the crowd laugh though)

After the parade we headed to SM and BTMR, we split up and dd and me chose to ride BTMR. We managed to get in the front of the train and it was terrifying! Because it was so dark it really did feel like a runaway train. We got off it petrified and vowed not to go on in the dark again.

It was decided to wait here to see hallowishes so we stood on the bridge by BTMR we had a great view and as usual the fireworks were spectacular.

We do more trick or treating here before heading back through fantasyland to Arials grotto, there is a dance party going on and the kids join in the dancing while me and dh sit down
Suzy and Perla then join in the dancing and dd is glued to them after that.
We hadn’t yet rode the tea cups and as that was Alice’s ride we head there next and ride that before walking through to Cosmic Rays. It’s at this point we decide we are hungry again so we go and eat (I am shocked to see we are eating burgers at 10.30pm! only on holiday)

We headed towards the castle and chance upon a villains show on the stage, this is followed by a villains meet and greet so I persuade dd to have a photo with the queen. Not surprisingly she is NOT keen so I have to go with her.

After yet more trick or treating we head for the exits at 11.15pm, we are very tired but really glad we did it. We also have more candy than I imagined possible!
I can honestly say if you get the chance to attend MNSSHP then go! Its great fun and a whole different experience to a general day in the parks. :cloud9:

Epcot and Le Cellier tomorrow :)

Another great trippie Nat, but it was much more fun hearing all about it from you today. Yes folks I've heard all about her fab holiday and seen all 300 of her lovely photos, and we had a lovely chat all about 'Disney' (is there a better way of spending a couple of hours ??). Anyway I will continue to read all your reports, and I look forward to the next installment.

Thanks again

Mandy xx

great report! When we were in DLP my younger DS (then 3 1/2) was fascinated by the popcorn machines and wandered over to look at one. When he turned round the Queen was standing behind him and wagged her finger :earseek: - he SHOT back to me and never left my side the rest of the trip! :rotfl:

Great report Nat. I can't wait to experience MNSSHP next year. Your kids looked great in their costumes.

I do have to say I'm disappointed to read that you didn't do ToT after all. Maybe next year, eh? ;)
