Since joining DVC what's the longest you've gone without using your points for a Disney vacation (including all non-WDW DVC resorts)?

Our last trip was early May of this year and we may not go to WDW again till Oct 17. The 1.5 year break seems like a long time to me. (We do have some extra points we may use for a trip to HHI in late March of 17)

We used to vacation at WDW 2 or 3 times per year, now once per year but because of Disney's direction, we have now decided to start going other places and skip some years. Sad really, but the executives just don't care as long as they are making obscene profits.

Out last trip was Apr/May 2016 and we have no other trips planned for the future and I usually book 11 months in advance. Our daughter will be in college starting Sept and we're not allowed to go with out her and next summer they want to go to Europe, plus WDW is too hot in the summer, so I have no idea when we are going back, but it could be a long time :(

We went to WDW this past March and next March we will be doing Aulani. At this point we don't have plans to return to WDW until at least 2018! I kind of want to wait until Pandora is open at AK and for more stuff to be done at DHS before returning.

I'd guess a year and a half. My mom and I went in May 2005 and had a trip planned in late November that year. She passed away at the end of September, so I cancelled it. I don't think I went again until the next fall. I may have done a trip at a WDW resort with friends, but not points.

I do not think we have ever gone a year without visiting Disney since 2003 when we bought DVC. We now conside 4 months between visits as a long time!:)

I had a baby in 2005, 3 months premature. We couldn't travel for a long time. Didn't go to WDW until 2008.

Went in January of this year...not heading back till May of 17. So almost a year and a half...the wait is killing me. :guilty::guilty:

our last points usage were for Aug/Sept 2015; we're returning Sept 2017...

15 months. We had a GV booked and used most of our current points, plus borrowed points.

I'm with you Bill. We were last there January 2016. Going again in January 2017, but no parks. The passes are too much (almost $4000 Canadian) for our family and there is too much in development right now. After January 2017 we plan on January 2018. Hard to believe I won't set foot in the parks until then.

In January we are going to Universal for the first time. Their AP is only $276 with tax!

Not sure what our future holds where the parks are concerned. It's gotten crazy expensive.

Last year we spent 43 nights at WDW. This year, just 14. Same planned for 2017. We've been renting our points but I can see us selling at some point.

We had a dry spell the year before we went to Europe for our Med DCL. We went to the HHI DVC the summer before in order to save for the cruise (no AP's or park tix). Then we rented out some of our points to pay for a small pkg at Disneyland Paris while we were in Europe. But so we sort of had a Disney fix the year of the cruise but had like close to 2 years w/o WDW.

Currently, our trips are spread 3 - 5 months apart; we visit in May, September, and December. Previously, our longest window was 8-months between trips.

Given the current direction of the Disney's Parks & Resorts division (e.g., replacement of The Great Movie Ride with Mickey Mouse's story, Universe of Energy with Guardians of the Galaxy), we will likely be visiting Walt Disney World annually and Hilton Head Island in the late spring. We loved Walt Disney World for its thematic immersion and are not pleased with the Universal Studios/IP-based lands direction.

We only do annual trips to Disney World. We have been every year since the 80s. I love it but once a year is enough. We go other places during the year for different trips, Beach, etc.

We went 3 times on our last AP June 2015, Dec 2015, and April 2016. We are not planning to go again til 2019 at least. We are waiting for all the new stuff to get done and the 3 year break will be the longest break in visiting in 12 years.

We are going in December and after that, who knows? We have a Med cruise next summer on Norwegian and no plans for a Disney trip at this time. So could be '18 before we go again. Feels weird!

Since we've owned DVC, the longest has been 17 months. Mostly because we ran out of points after we went three times in the span of 11 months.

Last point usage was November 2014, going back this October 2016, December 2016 and February 2017. Lesson here is don't wait too long or you end up binging to get your Disney Happy back.

We were at least twice a year people but not so much anymore. We're now using the points on Vero or Hilton Head. That being said, our intentions are to bank all of 2017 and give it all a break. If we do that, it will be our first year not using points at all.

The longest we've ever gone is 6 months. We skipped winter and went fall then not again until May. We had people placing bets that we wouldn't make it
