Have any of you ladies found long wearing makeup that actually is long wearing? I usually don't wear a ton in the parks, but as I'm getting older I want to look nicer in my photos. The natural look isn't what it used to be!

Anyone have a recommendation for eye shadow, liner or lip color that actually stays put for a while? I see Maybelline has a new line of long wearing makeup, has anyone tried it yet?

My make up never stayed on until I started using these products....
Okay, my skin has been a lifelong problem for me so I've become quite the expert! Here's my two cents!

For mascara there is a product called Blinc. It is expensive but AMAZING! You have to use a primer (sold with it) but it stays on until you take it off, I promise! The awesome thing is it never, ever, ever smears and comes off with just warm water. You have to experience it to believe it! Worth every penny!

For makeup I use the Bare Essentials line but it only stays on if I put their hilighting primer on first!

I'm 44 and my skin looks better now than when I was younger thanks to RetinA (I actually use it for acne but the side effects are amazing) and a skin lightening cream my dermatologist gave me. Just FYI from one girl trying to look good to another! :)

Good luck!

If you use a primer first, pretty much any product will stay on. I use Urban Decay primers.

I use Maybelline Super Stay foundation, Avon waterproof eyeliner and Maybelline Great Lash Mascara. I use the regular non-waterproof mascara normally, but on AK or MK days, I switch to waterproof in case we go on Splash or Kali River Rapids. I have trouble with waterproof mascaras flaking into my eyes so I don't use them unless I know I'm going to be getting wet.

For very thorough makeup reviews and recommendations, check out the beautypedia website. The site was created by Paula Begoun. She has her own line of products, but she still provides very objective, no nonsense reviews of virtually every skin care and makeup product available.

I keep the website bookmarked on my phone, and any time I'm make up shopping, I check to see what she has to say.

After using Bare Minerals for ages , I switched to a MAC liquid foundation. The foundation lasts for ages and makes my skin look dewy and radiant, but that is probably not what you need when you're already dewy from the humidity.:rolleyes1

I'm using a Rimmel Mascara right now that I absolutely love. I don't have access right now, but it comes in a bright pink tube.

When I was getting ready for my last Disney trip someone (on here, perhaps) suggested a "tube" mascara. It's called that because it forms a tube around your eyelashes, not because it's in a tube. It worked really, really well in the heat.

Makeup Forever is a line of makeup sold @ Sephora, and it really stays put! I use a foundation called, Mat Velvet and love it. And Benefit has a lip and cheek stain that comes in different shades and is wonderful. And I would do waterproof eyeliner and mascara , Benefit has a great new eyeliner that lasts forever. Good luck :)

I use Make-up Forever Foundation (found at Sephora) and I use one of Sephora's primers that was recommended to me by a staff member (it has SPF in it). We don't do a lot of water rides (except Splash Mountain) and I've never gotten soaked at the parks, but it has held up well with sweating on occasion.

For mascara, I always use a Mary Kay brand - my SIL sells it, so I just take whatever she recommends and I've been happy each time.

I don't really wear much makeup other than that - especially at Disney. Some days I just dab on a little concealer (I believe it's also Sephora, but it might be MAC) and mascara and head to the parks. I know I don't care if other people where makeup, so they shouldn't care what I wear - and as far as pictures, 99 out 100 are taken from far enough away that you can't tell one way or the other :).

Mary Kay!!!

I have found that anything Mary Kay stays on forever, and it's more "reasonably" priced than most make-up lines found at Sephora or other department stores.

Also, I must agree with PP that the make-up itself is only part of the equation, the products you use underneath it make a difference too!

Shiseido SPF 38 sunblock lotion (not cream) absorbs oil and works better than any overall skin primer I've ever used.

Urban Decay eye primer

MAC eyebrow powder (discontinued, but available in some Cosmetic Company Outlet stores)

Georgio Armani lip wax!!! I'm not sure if they even still make this, but it's AMAZING and will stay on through several meals. However, it's drying, and as soon as you add a balm or gloss to moisturize, the color will just slide off.

Imju Fiberwig mascara - even waterproof makeup runs off my lashes, but not Fiberwig!

Any suggestions for eye liner? No matter what waterproof eyeliner I try it wont stay, it always smears.

Granted I have not bought real expensive ones.

I'd also love a recommendation for a waterproof mascara that doesn't smudge if you have oily skin. I'm currently using Cover Girl Lash Blast Waterproof, but haved smudges under my eyes by afternoon. My skin is quite oily, which I think is what's causing the problem. Any ideas?

eyeliner - Physician's Formula gel eyeliner trio

mascara - L'oreal double extend beauty tubes!!!

If you're not sure about a makeup, buy it at CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid... they have policies where you can return it with receipt for a refund if you don't like it.

I've heard the Urban Decay 24/7 ones are good for long wear. I tried it on my hand and took FOREVER to get off. Probably what you want! I'd definitely check out Mary Kay or Arbonne for "get what you pay for" quality makeup. :) Also check out makeupalley.com for message boards and product reviews!
(I only use cruelty free products so I can't really recommend drugstore.)

I use Make Up Forever HD foundation and primer. I haven't done any water rides with it on but it has been hot when we went and it stayed on great.

I just use Maybelline Great Lash for everyday b/c it's cheap and I am mascara junkie and am contantly trying new ones. I have bought them all from high end to drugstore and haven't found the perfect one yet.

If you arent looking to wear too much make up (I find eyeshadow etc a little over kill during the day, but then thats absolutely personal preference) then I suggest:

Tinted Moisturiser with a primer: Either Laura Mercier or the new NARS. the LM has SPF 15 and the NARS has SPF 20 (even with the NARS I would still use the LM primer).
Both will give you a lovely even, natural complexion without it looking like you have a mask on.

Mascara : Totally skip mascara and either get an eyelash tint or extensions. The tint will only cost about £13 (under $20) and will look like you have mascara on 24/7, lasts at least a month.
Eyelash extensions (tried for the first time in Sept hols) cost quite a bit more - around £60 ($90ish) but look amazing!! I looked like I had the best volumising eyeliner/mascara on all the time. These lasted about 6 weeks before they looked really thin/grown out.

With these two options/products, all you need is to apply a lipgloss/balm and you'll be ready to go every morning/evening in about 5 mins max :goodvibes

Smashbox primer, Make Up Forever HD foundation, Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner, Loreal voluminous mascara. I'm a devotee to all 4 of these. I only discovered the Urban Decay eyeliner a few months ago after I heard another customer in Sephora raving about it to her friend. I bought some and will now never use anything else. Most other eyeliner disappeared on me by noon, or was running off my face, but not Urban Decay. On a couple of rare occasions I slept in makeup and my eyeliner still looked the same in the morning! The Florida humidity is the next test of this product.

I just discovered Revlon Color Stay products about a year ago and LOVE them. I am frequently asked what I use, because they see that I don't reapply at work.

I also use GreatLash and have some of the Maybelline ShadowBlast. I find they last beautifully.

Avon has a line of long wearing 12 hour makeup that lasts and lasts! Give it a try!

Hiya

Can't believe there is a thread on this, woo hooo! I assumed I was the only person who would even consider wearing make up to a theme park!

On my previous trips, I've always intended to wear it so I look nice for photos, but end up not bothering because half way through the day, it feels all clogged and sweaty.

What do you do about sunscreen? I don't want to burn! We'll be going last week of March, first week of April so the sun is quite strong and I am fair-skinned and normally need like a factor 30 suncream... any ideas?

Thanks,
Rachel x
