Since I only bought in March 2002, this is the first time I am at my DVC resort in December.

I read erikthewise's post regarding resort discounts and couldn't agree more.

So here's my question. Pre-DVC, and Pre-9/11 I had been to WDW once in December, the first time with my husband and kids. Truth be told, it was off site and I don't remember much about the crowds...I am sure I was just happy to be there.

So I guess I am wondering from those of you who have travelled and stayed DVC in December many times, what kind of difference in attendance am I likely to see. Loved the low crowds I had in December 2002 when we were at the Polynesian, but all the talk about the post 9/11 era and that travel is picking up makes me wonder if this December will be different that the last December I was here.

Anyone care to comment?

We go down either the 1st or 2nd week of December every year, have done this since 92. We have not noticed much of a change in the crowds, these still seem to be great weeks for seeing the holiday decor and weather wise it usually is very pleasent. We will be there thru the 5th of December this year, Hope to see you there!!!

We've gone the first or second week of December the past 6 years, the last 4 at BWV. Crowds have never been bad, although it has picked up since 2001 (2001 was very empty). Weather is iffy - 3 years we had great weather (highs near 80), 3 years mixed (highs as low as 50). Only 1 year we had rain (2002). It's a great time to go, the Christmas activities are wonderful! Planning Dec 4 to 10 this year, but my mom is having health problems, hopefully we can go.

over the years MVMCP has increased until last year - I think they got so many complaints from 2002 - every year until then WDW was increasing the amount of tickets sold - last year they start to decrease them.

don't go to the weekend MVMCP - fri,sat or sun - locals also come to this event then - so during the week less crowds.

The parks don't really get crowded until the offsite hotels also start to fill. Early December is very busy for WDW resorts but not so much for area hotels. There won't be any big crowds until the holiday folks start to arrive closer to Christmas.
