I have the free dining pin. I am debating on whether I would like to do a 9 night trip with free qsdp for about 2500 at value plus at least 200 more for Ohana and LeCellier. Or we could do a 6 night trip with reg or deluxe plan for more. I like the mugs and 2 snacks so I am not that excited about reg. We like ts meals but for no upgrade a long trip sounds good. Were you happy on QSDP?

I think it would depend on how often you are willing to eat TS meals. I just got back from a DxDP trip with my dd and she wanted to hit the rides, not waste time on eating, so we got quick service & counter service most of the time. We didn't even use all of our dining credits, so a total waste of money for us. I should have purchased the mugs and extra snacks OOP and gone with the regular dining.

Oops, wanted to add that it also depends on when you are going. When we were there last summer, it was so miserably hot that we were thankful to have TS meals just to get in the air conditioning for an hour.
On the trip we just got back from, the weather was great & there was plenty of outdoor seating so it wasn't a problem to get qs meals.

I'm really no help, huh? LOL

My rule of thumb is different than yours, for long trips i would do the reg dining plan....for short trips, i'd do the QSDP. In sept i went for 10 days and did the reg dining plan. For that length of time, i'll definitely want to sit in a restaurant once a day. But if your there for a short time, i wouldnt wanna waste my time in restaurants. I'd wanna see and do as much as i can and not bother rushing to restaurants. Anyway, none of this info helps you so i pretty much rambled on for nothing. :rotfl2: :lmao:

For your situation, if you can swing a longer trip, i would do that and get QSDP. If there are any restaurants you want to go to, you can always pay for it out-of-pocket. If cost is an issue with the restaurants, you can always just go for appetizers or dessert instead of ordering full meals. Heck, the adults can even order a kids meal. They allow it! :woohoo:

I am just trying to get the best vacation for a reasonable amount of money. I have only done oop and dxdp plan but not sure I want to pay to upgrade. We love ts but would like to save some money and try something different. I am not sure if we would like qsdp but if we stayed at a value it would be free which is great!
