Who is your long distance provider and approximately how much do you pay each month for long distance calls? (on average)

Mine is Alltel and my monthly bill averages between $25-28. Not bad! Definitely down from the days when my long distance bill was in the 100s.

We make all long distance calls from our cell phones so they are free.

We use our cell phones for long distance. Our home phone's long distance is the phone company. We pay 10 cents per minute. Our usual long distance bill is $1 with them.

I have the unlimited package from Verizon, so I get unlimited local and long distance (as well as the usual call waiting, voicemail, etc). It's about $65./month. I make a lot of out-of-state calls, so it's been a blessing!

I make all long-distance calls on my cell phone too.

We use Kiss LD and pay 3 cents/minute. However, last year we got new cell phones and LD is now included on our plan, so we pay less than $2/month on the home phone LD bill and just use the cell for all our LD calls.

Used to have long distance bills like you. However, I now pay the same money I did on long distance for three cell phones and we don't run out of minutes. It's good. I put SIL on my plan and between me, DH and her calling each other, it would have easily been 100 bucks a month, let alone MY siblings! :rotfl:

I pay the convenience fee for the long distance on my home phone, but we never use it.

No need to pay a fee for a service you aren't using. Just change to a plan with no monthly fee and save even more.

As I said, we use our cell for LD. We are on a family plan: Me, DW, my mom and my cousin, so we all eliminated our home LD bills and are saving a ton of money each month by using the cells for LD.

We have Vonage and we pay around 28 a month. I love it because I can talk to my mom in TN for as long as I want and I don't have to worry about it.

We have this too and love it! I opted for the call waiting caller ID instead of voicemail, and caller ID. We really had to go this route because we live in a rural area so everything is long distance.

You guys must have some good cell phone plans.

I pay $50 a month for 600 minutes shared with another line (adding another $10). We have free nights and weekends, and free calls to other people on the plan.

If you are referring to my other post. Verizon is my landline carrier as well.

We pay $90/month for 4 phones with 850 shared minutes (which is way more than we need). We have free nites and weekends including free nationwide long distance. We also have free cell to cell calls on Cingular. We love it. As I said, we've saved a fortune in long distance fees.

SBC has all my tolls calls (anything over 15 miles, including long distance). I'm unsure of how many minutes but I know that its a flat rate of $10 per month and I've never gone over and I use it alot.

AT&T is our long distance carrier. We do not use it, and there is no fee to have it. We buy phonecards at Sam's for 2 cents per minute. Way cheaper than the AT&T carrier. We live in a rural area so have a local carrier that charges $28 per month just to have the phone on the wall with a dialtone.

I've got a corporate rate, but what I'm paying for three phones and 500 more minutes each month is the same as what I was paying T mobile for two lines and 1000. We're cingular (AT&T again, I think) and just about everyone I know is on the plan. I'll probably drop down the minutes soon, and it'll be about 60 bucks a month for 700 minutes and three phones. I just need another month or two to see how much my SIL yacks on the phone I got for her!
