Long Distance Telephone Cards

I have a great long distance phone rate on my home phone and have never used the calling cards that you can buy at Walmart and 7-11. Can they be used on hotel telephones? We will be staying at the Comfort Suites Maingate East in January and I need to call home in Canada several times. Would these cards be cheaper? I know not to use the hotel rate and I currently bill it to my home telephone. Also, how do you use them?
Any help would be appreicated.

Last year we got a phone card from Sam's Club and used it (following the directions printed on the card) a lot from pay phones at Ft. Wilderness. It was great!!!

I think each minute was 3 cents (800 minute card was $24). 15 minutes were deducted for each call (because it was from a pay phone) and then talk-time was by the minute. So a 10 minute call home cost 75 cents. At some point (maybe when we placed the call), we would get a recording saying how many minutes were left on the card. We were gone 2 weeks and phoned home most days.

If you use it from a hotel room, it is the same as placing a toll-free call ... Most hotels do not charge for toll-free calls.

I really loved it and will get one again when we go to WDW (it sure beats roaming charges on the cell phone!!).

You can go to onesuite.com and prepay as much as you want and print out a "calling" card. They are 2.5-2.9 cents a minute. We use ours for all of our long distance and save a ton of money. But you can use the numbers from any phone anywhere. If you get a referral you also get 20 free minutes.

Check with your home long distance service and see if they have calling cards . That's what I did and it just billed to my home at the same great rates I have there, and they were free.
