Our Cast:
DawnMaree: That would be me, the ultimate planner for our whole group. After this trip I think I still need to perfect my planning.
Rob: My husband. Not as gung-ho about Disney as I am but still was excited to go on this trip.
Evan: 4-year-old son, a.k.a. Papas boy. He is definitely a temperamental child who needs a lot of attention. We had some trying times with him this vacation.
Alec: 2½-year-old son. Daddys boy by day, Mommys boy by night.
Grandma: My mom. Very generous lady, my best friend. She was looking forward to relaxing by the pool (ha).
Papa G: My dad. This would be the official Papa of Evan. He is completely crazy for his grandsons and really would spend the entire time with them if he could.
Grammy: My mother-in-law. First time going to Disney World and really the first vacation of this kind of magnitude for her and Papa W.
Papa W: My father-in-law. He is not a very expressive person, just went along with what everyone else wanted. Grammy had to warn him ahead of time about how expensive Disney really was.
Stormalong Bay, Illuminations Cruise - Tuesday, November 11th
We slept in to a real late 7:30 a.m. and went over to our PS at Cape May Café. Minnie Mouse was in the waiting area and Alec really want to go up to see her. Evan was very hesitant. So, I took Alec up and we took some pics. We were seated after only about 10 minutes. Evan warmed up very quickly to Goofy, Chip, and Dale. It was fun to watch both boys light up when the characters came around. Evan ate 2 chocolate frosted doughnuts (nice and healthy) and that was it for him. Alec just had some eggs. At least Alec was free. It was worth the money though just for the characters alone.
Stormalong Bay didnt open until 10 a.m. so we had to bide some time with the boys. They were eager to get swimming. We did a little walking around and then went back to the room to get changed. By this time I wasnt feeling very well. I had caught the boys colds. I decided to stay in the room and do some laundry before joining everyone at the pool. Oh...that pool is awesome. Evan and Alec just loved being able to walk right into the pool. What big shots they were. Rob, the Papas, and I went down the big slide quite a few times while Grammy and Grandma watched the boys.
After our swimming was done, we got ready and headed to DownTown Disney. We ate at the Rainforest Café which we all thought was just okay. Had some fun going in the toy store and buying lots of stuff. Before we knew it we had to head back to make our Illuminations Cruise.
Jeff was our captain of the cruise. He was absolutely wonderful. He told us some little facts, some I knew, some not, and trivia about the resorts, parks, etc. When we docked just before Illuminations, he pulled out his own special book and played a game - I forget what you call it. He had pages with a couple of graphics on it that we were to guess what Disney movie, ride, etc., it was. My side of the boat won! It was really nice viewing Illuminations from the boat and not having to stake out a spot ahead of time. The only thing really missing was not being able to see the countries lighting up.
Back to our room afterwards. Tomorrow Rob & I were supposed to do some Epcot alone and then get the boys for awhile, then have our parents only dinner. Yeah, right...
