Our Cast:
DawnMaree: That would be me, the ultimate planner for our whole group. After this trip I think I still need to perfect my planning.
Rob: My husband. Not as gung-ho about Disney as I am but still was excited to go on this trip.
Evan: 4-year-old son, a.k.a. Papas boy. He is definitely a temperamental child who needs a lot of attention. We had some trying times with him this vacation.
Alec: 2½-year-old son. Daddys boy by day, Mommys boy by night.
Grandma: My mom. Very generous lady, my best friend. She was looking forward to relaxing by the pool (ha).
Papa G: My dad. This would be the official Papa of Evan. He is completely crazy for his grandsons and really would spend the entire time with them if he could.
Grammy: My mother-in-law. First time going to Disney World and really the first vacation of this kind of magnitude for her and Papa W.
Papa W: My father-in-law. He is not a very expressive person, just went along with what everyone else wanted. Grammy had to warn him ahead of time about how expensive Disney really was.
Magic Kingdom, Epcot - Friday, November 14th
Our last full day. It was a bit sad knowing it but we wanted to make it a good one. Again, we slept in a little longer and got ready to go to the MK. It was just Rob, the boys, and I. The grandparents went to MGM Studios for the morning to do some things they missed and then they headed over to Epcot for the rest of the day to meet up with us later.
The bus took about 20 minutes to come and it was packed. Alec was starting in already not wanting to be in the stroller, wanting to be held by Rob the entire time. I think Rob is close to being a body builder by now (ha). Evan wanted to go on Splash Mountain right away. It was a bit cool this day but I brought our handy Dollar Store ponchos and Evan and I went on SM while Rob and Alec watched for us. We walked right on the ride...absolutely no waiting at all. Evan and I sat in the front again. Thank goodness for the ponchos. It was fun and he wanted to do it again but we told him there was much more to do. We were going to go on Buzz Lightyear but the line for that was over 30 minutes and the FP time was not a good one. We had PS at Crystal Palace for lunch. So, we headed over to Fantasyland whereupon Evan fell asleep in the stroller. Rob took Alec on Snow White because the line was short and I bided some time in a gift shop looking for the famous Mickey ears. We got the boys their new ears and a pair for my brothers girlfriends daughter.
Timing was a little off so we rode Aladdins Magic Carpet. Not enough time to do much after that so we headed over to for our PS at Crystal Palace. We got a nice little table and Tigger and Pooh came over immediately. Rob went up to get food for himself and Alec. I went up next for me and Evan. By the time I got back Alec was asleep on Robs shoulder. Since we had a half booth/half table, we laid Alec down on the booth part so he could sleep. Eeyore and Piglet made their rounds, each looking fondly on sleeping Alec. Evan loved the characters. The food was very good.
We headed over to ToonTown and Evan really wanted to get his face painted like a lion so we let him do it. It was really cute! Alec was still cranky and wanted to ride the train so I took Evan over to the play area and Alec and Rob went on the train. After the round trip they joined us in the play area. We really had to pull teeth to get them out of there. We visited Mickeys house and got in line for Goofys Barnstormer. Waited over 20 minutes for that ride - the longest we waited the entire time we were down there. Alec wasnt really thrilled with it but Evan liked it until it ended. He was mad that it was so short. He said, Thats not nice making it end! Too bad for him. I was not going to wait in line again for that 2 second ride. We were pretty tired so we just decided to head back to the room for some downtime before going to Epcot. The bus was extremely crowded on the way back. I sat down with Alec on my lap. Rob had to stand with the stroller. Evan stood between my legs while I held onto him. That was the worst bus ride.
The boys did really well romping in the grassy area outside our patio. We all freshened up a bit and then headed over to Epcot around 5:30 p.m. for our dinner at Garden Grill. Perfect timing. The grandparents were walking up to The Land just as we were. I checked in and secretly asked about having the rehitching ceremony for me and Rob. He noted it on the card. A hostess came out to us and said that they were not able to sit us all together because there were only 4 booths that fit 8 people and the last one was taken by a party of 6 who demanded to have it. We were quite upset because the party of 6 could have easily fit into a smaller booth. We had to have separate booths and separate waiters. That was a pain because Evan wanted to sit with Grandma and we had to split up the checks. How confusing. At the end of the meal the waiters came over and asked who was having a 7 year anniversary. I was taken aback because I never said it was our anniversary. I thought we could just have the rehitching ceremony without the anniversary part. I just went along with it but Rob and the rest of the clan were more confused because it was a surprise for him. Oh well, the cake was good.
After dinner we split from the grandparents again. We did some simple things with the boys. They loved the lighted sidewalks near Innoventions. We watched the musical fountain. We went over to the United Kingdom and found our way through the hedge maze. The simple things...ahhh.
Back to the room and to bed. I wished Rob a happy anniversary and we went to sleep knowing that tomorrow we were going home...
