London Hotel

I do not know if this is the right place but I am planning on spending a week next summer in London. Can anyone recommend a hotel for a family of 3 below 75lb. I have been looking at the Travelodge do not know which one would be best. Any help would be appreciated.

Travelodge hotels can be great value if you just want somewhere to sleep at budget prices. If you're looking for a hotel with facilities then a Travelodge may be too basic.

As for which one, do have a particular itinerary yet to give an idea of where would make a good base?

I know that they are low budget but the price is right. We just want clean and location. A grocery store near would be nice. We will be spending 5 days site seeing. My DD is 11 and we have never been We are going to Dover to catch a cruise after so near a good train station would also be useful but not essential.

You can catch the train to Dover from Charing Cross station or Victoria Station - possibly more but i'm not sure! You can check trains/prices on www.nationalrail.co.uk

Any of the central Travellodges will be ok because public transport is great and you are never more than 10-15 mins away from a mainline train and/or tube station.

You can also look into a Bed and Breakfast (note these are NOT at all like the ones in Canada (I'm from Alberta) most of them are quite basic and remind me of Fawlty Towers!). Here's a link to budget accommodation in London:

Dear Booknut, We are not going till next summer so I will probably PM you many times before then. Thanks for the info. The rates are not even out yet so I am just guessing till they do. I hope they will be out mid summer for next year so I can really start to plan. I plan on booking as soon as I can for the best rate. Thanks.
