Logistics of bringing your own dress to BBB...

My DD4 is princess obsessed, so BBB is a given. The crown package seems like the best option for us. But I'm wondering about the logistics of bringing your own dress. Do we bring her to the appointment already wearing the dress? Or just bring the dress with us and she will change there? If I bring her a new dress she hasn't seen before, can I have it sent to BBB ahead of time to be waiting for her? This is all new to us, so any tips are greatly appreciated!

there is a changing room in BBB so you can come in normal clothes and change. Not sure if they will keep the dress, but they are extremely accommodating to the princesses (and princes and pirates). FYI - you can stop in anytime to get a "pixie dusting" applied, no charge.

We went to BBB already with the dress on so they just got their hair done while seated

also fyi if you choose the bun option, they won't put the stuff that doesn't reach the top into the bun so I had to bobby pin it up after the fact, I was disappointed but both of my girls selected that option over the fake hair addition option (which seemed cooler) so I tried to go with the flow

I just have to jump in here, with no info of my own, to say @hanscarlet, that your second picture with your daughter puckering her lips to receive the makeup and then you can see the FairyGodMother in the Mirror making the same face to show her what to do is SO AWESOME and PRECIOUS. I don't know if you planned to capture her face in the mirror, but it is genius! Looks like your daughter had a great time!

so cute!!! And super helpful info, which is exactly why we all come here! DD is past this stage in life :( but our next sailing is with my nieces. My sister would be, um, quite unhappy with the partial bun. She's super particular about her girls' hair. I'll have to warn her!

Ha! I have never noticed that before! Thank you for pointing it out, that is adorable! Those fairy godmothers were wonderful, I wish they could accept tips!

If I knew the bun was only partial then I may have pushed harder for the colorful hair extensions that's why I wanted to make sure I pointed it out, I was surprised myself about it... we did have fun though with taking it apart and the stiff hair LOL

The hair is different now. They don't use the gel anymore. They use a bun sponge and bobby pins. It looks more like a ballerina bun than the bun they used to do.

You can wear it or bring it, whichever works best for you. I'm not sure if you can send it ahead of time as the place is pretty small. I'd call first and ask. It is such a fun place! Enjoy!

Is this only on DCL? In March at Magic Kingdom, they still did the same rolling bun with pins, but no hard gel or hairspray, I had to use my own.

At MK in June it was different. It was the spongy thing. I didn't realize this was asked in the dcl forum so I am only speaking about MK. I'm not sure if it was different on dcl.

When we went on the Fantasy in November we took our own dress (she wore it to BBB). They did a cool twist hairdo that I saw quite a few girls sporting on our cruise. It was so much better than the bun (that we've done at Disney World) or the weird hair extension thing. I think the fairy godmothers and pirate "godmothers" on the ships are so much better than the ones at Disney World. The experiences were amazing!

We just returned from sailing on the Dream. My daughter had an appt at BBB and I brought a pre-purchased dress with us to the appt. They have a dressing room there and she changed before they started.
