Hi
How do you organize the car rental process post cruise at Port Canaveral pls?
Shuttle to car rental - just driver?
Uber is feasible?

Thanks!

Most or all of the car rental agencies in Cape Canaveral have a shuttle to and from the port. My family of 4 just piles into the shuttle, recognizing we may need to wait 10-15 minutes for the next one if there isn’t room for us.

It might be faster to take an Uber, but I haven’t tried it.

We were traveling with a group of 8. I got off the ship first and took the shuttle to the car rental. I grabbed the car and circled back to get everyone. Probably took 20-25 min total

If you can get off quick you’ll be fine, but they often run out of the types of cars booked so keep that in mind. There usually isnt a shuttle bus in time for express walk off either you need to wait, local taxi’s are a rip off. We usually book for 18 days of car rental so often just take the hit for a weeks parking as a week rental before picking up at airport and dropping off at PC rental desk and the opposite on way home for a week is usually not much different to just taking the car from mco for the full period of stay. I dont know how that works for americans with your crazy car insurance rates though, but def works for a european.

Most companies have a shuttle. If one isn't at the port when you debark, you can call and they'll send one.

I have a follow up question our Fantasy cruise in May disembarks on a Wednesday. Per the car rental websites, the ones close to the port (alamo, national, enterprise) are closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Would they ever change those days to be open as cruise ship is docking that day? Just wondering...

I wondered same thing - it kind of threw a wrench into my plan of getting a car and doing the space center since we have a late flight out after a Fantasy cruise in Feb that comes in on a Wed.
