We are 30 minutes north of Boston. Usually when we fly we have someone take us. This time this is not the case. Does anyone know of any deals for parking or limos? On our return we aren't getting in until mdnight so a limo would cost more. I looked up the parking rates and it sure is expensive. I even looked into Woburn but when you pay for the shuttle and parking a limo isn't such a bad option. Any ideas?

On the few occasions we haven't had a ride or parking costs were ridiculous we have rented a car to drive and drop off at airport, and then rented another to drive home from airport. We just rent the smallest one that can fit all of us and our luggage to keep the cost down.

Pre flight parking in Chelsea is like $95/week and they have a 15% off coupon on their website. I have never used them before but came across them when researching possible rates for our trip in october.

We always take the Logan Express. We live south of Boston and take a cab to the Braintree Logan Express. The bus costs $12. each way for adults and kids are free up to 18 years old. We get our Dunkin Donuts food at the Logan Express and it is quite relaxing for me. We have gotten the return bus back home at 12 midnight. I don't know when the last bus runs, but they do cater to the airport workers. Parking at the Logan Express could be an alternative
to a cab to your house if you live quite a distance. I like the independence of
providing my own transportation.

The problem with leaving your car in Chelsea is that might not be there when you get back :lmao:

When we lived in Southie, we would have friends drive in and park on the street, and we would periodically move their cars for them to avoid street cleaning. Not sure if that's an option or not - and, I understand that much of Southie is now restricted to resident parking only.

Ditto on the Logan Express from Braintree. It has the added advantage that you can take the T if for some reason your plans change, and you wont rely on the bus. Of course, that's probably not too useful for you if you live north of the city. I think the Logan Express leaves from Peabody as well, so that might work out better.

I've used Preflight Parking in Providence but never at Logan. Never had any problems with the Providence location though.

edited to add...my parents use Logan Express all the time from Braintree and they love it. There are locations in Peabody and Woburn also if that's near where you are, it's a more affordable option than a limo or parking on site at Logan. $7 daily parking and $22 round trip per adult (17 and under free)

I was just researching this myself. There are quite a few transportation options listed on Groupon right now. Most of them you need to be within 30 miles of Boston. Then there is an extra charge beyond that. Not sure distance wise how far out you are. But the prices were all in the $100 one way range. We are coming from the Cape and no deals from here.

We use Pre-Flight in Chelsea frequently. Open 24 hours, gated lot (unless you have to use the overflow employee lot during a holiday week), decent rates, frequent shuttles run constantly.

Never had a problem with the Chelsea location. A little tricky to find though, so best to make a dry run before your trip so you aren't stressed with directions on your travel day.

Echoing the comments about PreFlight parking near Logan. We've used it several times when the cost is better than a taxi or other livery. I agree it is tricky to get to, and we budget 20min from car to airport for "just in case" happenstance.
The preflight is a fenced lot, and the shuttle from the airport will pick up and drop you off at your car. Although I don't drop my guard, I do feel rather safe at the lot. We've used it very late night and mid-day, I've felt the same sense of safety. Even after a major snow storm, our car was shoveled off in advance. Their frequent parker/loyalty parking was helpful for us, we stayed "for free" one time using up loyalty points.

Since you're north of boston, you might consider the Woburn park and fly. I haven't used the park and fly, so I can't comment on the logistics, cost or efficiency. Sean's mom uses them often and likes it.

Safe travels! -Krista

We used Pre-Flight and it was great.

The shuttle buses were large and ran frequently. We didn't have to wait at all for it to come to deliver us to the airport and only about 10 minutes when we arrived to Logan from Orlando.

If you use this service, do remember to keep your ticket that's dispensed at the gate. Even if you pre-pay, as I did, you'll need it upon exiting the lot. Also, the driver will give you a piece of paper with your car location on it. You'll need that when you arrive so they can locate your car. I lost ours, and the driver was worried that he'd have to drive row by row to find our vehicle, but our's is an oversized vehicle that's easy to spot (and we remembered the general location).

You'll save money by doing the online reservation and pre-payment, but make sure you have the correct times as far as AM and PM- double check, so as to avoid additional charges.

Depending on how far north of Boston you are, you might consider taking the C&J bus from Portsmouth, NH. Parking at the bus terminal is safe and free, and buses run hourly to/from Logan airport. You won't have to drive in the greater Boston area traffic at all!

We used the Days Inn on Rte 1's Park, Stay and Fly program. Stayed there the night before our trip, took the shuttle in, parked our car there for free for 2 weeks and then took their shuttle back to the hotel on arrival. We found it very easy to use and it was cheaper than paying to park somewhere else.
