Usually go through Providence cos it seems easier.
Has Logan gotten any easier? It is a $180 price difference for 3 of us.
How would you get there from central MA?
Any other info appreciated -thank you

Logan has gotten way easier. Truly.

From Central Mass, I would drive to the Logan Express in Framingham, park there, and take the bus to the airport. The Logan Express schedules are all online.

We live on the Cape and actually find Logan easier for us than PVD. The new Ted Williams Tunnel is a great addition to the roadways in Boston and allows us to get from the Cape right to the airport in a little over an hour. PVD takes close to 2 hours. Granted the facility itself is much bigger and therefore a bit more to negotiate but with all the options for MCO flights out of Boston now, I doubt I would ever go back to PVD.If you park in one of the satellite lots the parking is much cheaper than at Logan and they will shuttle over, works very easily. And what we do most of the time now is stay at the Holiday Inn overnight, love those early am direct flights that get us the WDW before noon!!!The room and 10 days of parking is $149.00 and we always have pizza at Santarpios the night before!! Anxiously awaiting our big trip here......::MinnieMo

is it safe enough to leave the car in Framingham?

I feel perfectly safe leaving my car at the Framingham lot. My husband regularly travels for business and leaves his vehicle there. Neither of us has ever had a problem.

Incredibley easy now. We usually go right into Logan ourselves and it's taking about 40 minutes door to terminal. It used to take over an hour. We are thinking about using Knights Limo this summer tho. I don't want to pay the parking fee at Logan. Since we will be arriving after 11 PM I don't want to be wandering around trying to get the shuttle back to Framingham or the shuttle over to one of the outer parking lots at Logan. It looks like the service will be about the same as parking would be.
As to the safety at Framingham, no problem. My dh is a real worrier and he has no problem leaving his car there.

Another vote for Framingham Logan Express. While we can take the T or a cab from here in Newton (all of 12 miles from Logan), friends of ours in Needham (one town out) will actually drive west to Framingham to take the Logan Express, and tell me it's "wicked easy". Sure beats navigating and parking ($$$$$) at Logan.

Logan Express has a safe lot. But people tell me its really easy now to just drive in and will not take longer than 45 minutes to do. Logan Express buses can be slow to get back from Logan out to Framingham, especially in cold weather as you have to stand at the curb and wait. I prefer to drive myself in, but I have been using PVD a lot lately and haven't tried the drive since the tunnel opened.

Which Holiday Inn do you stay at? I want to take the 6:30 am flight offered by JetBlue in July. We are driving from the Cape and I would like to be closer so we don't have to get up at 3:00am:eek:

We have found it to be wonderful with the big dig all done. Only 40 minutes to drive what used to take over an hour. A straight shot...Rt. 9 to the Pike and then straight thru to Logan. Ahhh.
Now, if they could just do something about the exhorbitant parking rates, it would be perfect.

The Holiday Inn is about 1 1/2 miles past Logan on I think its called rte 1A towards Revere. They have a Park n Fly rate and the parking is for 10 days. The hotel was just refurbished and I think its nicer than either the Hilton or Hyatt. The shuttle is very prompt about dropping off and picking up at the airport. It relieves all the stress about getting up so early and the drive up to Boston. I am always afraid of encountering an accident on the way and not making it.We have done this several times and it works very well for us!!

One word of caution about Logan. Give yourself plenty of time for security. We were already checked from our origination point but were tied up at a check point to cross to our transfer and the line was horrible. Also, even though Delta had a 2 bag/item carry-on limit they (Logan)were extremely strict with a 1 piece limit and there were signs up everywhere stating how you were not going to be able to sneak by claiming small items as something other than a carry-on piece they were referring to. Then you had to go stand in another long line to get it ticketed and put in with the other luggage. On the way home the lines were not bad but it was later at night, the trip down was early am.

I have encountered long lines for security at Logan also. But, on our last two trips, we were very surprised at the efficiency of the security lines and the shortness of the wait. My dd and I traveled in Dec and had a regular carryone bag and a purse/pocketbook. They had no problem with this. And it is actually the same thing that Delta tells you you can have. One carry-on bag and a personal item (briefcase, pocketbook, diaper bag). However, the best security line we have found is at MCO. Never had to wait there. Maybe we've just been really lucky.
