Just called to see what was available at the HRH for April 25-29. I was told there were no King Suite upgrades available. So I asked if I could be upgraded to a deluxe instead. I was told that because the suite upgrade was not available to me, they couldn't upgrade me to anything.

This makes absolutely no sense to me whatsoever. A gold member would get a deluxe upgrade but a platinum member could not. :confused3

Anyone else ever experience this?

hrh holds to that sometimes.

i had a deluxe but was switched to a king suite 2 years ago there.

do you know the staff at hrh?
i'll send you a pm later today to help you

I can understand not getting a suite if I was only entitled to a deluxe but not getting a deluxe because there are no suites is just weird. Basically, I am overqualified to get an upgrade. You would think they would offer the next lowest level as the upgrade. Weird.

my thoughts as well Damo, as Platinum you are entitled to a suite upgrade, so if no suites available, i would think you are entitled to a deluxe upgrade ,which would be the next room available for an upgrade.

Holy Guacamole! Are you going on those dates for sure??!! We will be there!:woohoo:

We're trying, we're trying. My son was quite upset that I took my daughter for a whole week so I kinda promised him and his girlfriend a little vacation before he finishes his last year of high school. Well, we are running out of time. They have a professsional development day for teachers on the Friday, so would only have to miss one day of school. Flights are pretty cheap out of Buffalo, now I just need rooms where the four of us can get along but not too well (wink wink ... the teenagers...not us).

If anyone has suggestions, please let me know. I think a kids suite would work but no one offered to upgrade us, so that price is probably way out of the question.

Wow, it doesn't make any sense to me either. :confused3 Hope it all works out!

at hrh, i have had the upgrade to a deluxe before.

it will work out.

send the email i mentioned to you earlier today.
you have the address?

The only offer I got for visit was a water-view no other uprade's available

No, can you pm that to me, pretty pretty please???

Apparently there are no kids suites or king suites available for the weekend.

Just called back this morning and talked to a different person who actually offered us the deluxe as an upgrade without me asking.

Just goes to show that you just keep trying!!!

Meanwhile, garden view is 149 and then 179, APH rate, so that is what I've put on hold (connecting) and just need hubby's approval!!!

So, damo, does that mean they gave you an upgrade even though you booked at the APH rate?

That is an excellent rate! I was thinking about switching over to the AP rate, but I know Mike won't want to give up the suite. Hope your hubby gives you the go ahead. Good luck! :)

I was so excited to get to platinum level, but now it seems like they don't
have any suites available for a family of four at HRH or RP. Has anyone ever
took the King Suite upgrade and only claimed three people at checkin. We
all don't need to go to the desk!

if you only claim 3 people, then someone in your group will not get the hotel key which is required for the fotl system.

you will have a king bed and a couch pull out.

the rooms at hrh are larger than rph.

when are you going?
how old are your kids?

The problem is that you need a room key for each person in order to get your express line access.
