We are hoping to head up there for the first time in June with DS9 & DD5 but we are not sure were to stay. We will stay 2 or 3 nights. We want to head to Story Land and other places in that general area - we don't want to drive hours from where we will be staying as it's a hike enough just to get up there!

Any suggestions on where to stay???

TIA!

Jill

We've stayed a few times at the Covered Bridge Bed & Breakfast - very nice people w/young kids
River swimming in the backyard, whirlpool

Check out www.visitnh.gov. If you click on the White Mountains region of the map it will give you link and info on lodging, dining, other attractions, etc. Have a great time. Our family has always loved Storyland. If you have time, you should visit Santa's Village, too.

We used to stay in the Nordic Village when we went up there. They are condos. The prices were reasonable, and we were able to get different sizes of condos based on how many people in our family were heading up. You can usually get the condos cheap up there in the summer because they cater to ski season. They had a fun campfire by the lake at night when we stayed there.

Oh, and just an FYI about Storyland in case you didn't know, if you go in after 3:00 pm, you get the next day free. We always did this to give the kids two days of fun.

We have stayed at Green Granite when in North Conway. It is a nice clean motel on Route 16. Have fun.

Here's the link to Nordic Village, now called Luxury Mountain Getaways

We've stayed there several times.....it's just up the road from Story Land!

Another cute place is the Red Apple Inn. Very near by Storyland, clean and average priced.

The North Conway Grand Hotel is very nice,i went a few weeks ago for a 5 day ski trip at 59.00 a night clean small indoor pool
good location to shopping and movies. They are also a priceline hotel,dh just stayed 2 nights at 50.00 a night with priceline.

My feeling of nordic village is its more expensive than disney,we have stayed there 4 or 5 times they are way over priced and the real bummer is the 8%tax and10% resort fee= 18% taxes on top
of over priced condos.

The Seasons at attitash condos are not as fancy as nordic village
we have found them to be clean, big pool game room ect they usually have a stay 2 nights fet the 3rd free.

also have stayed at the green granite hotel-showing its age
the pool was far away from the hotel, not sure if this has changed

comfort inn suites and holiday inn are 2 newer hotels no pool at comfort not sure about holiday .
good luck,im sure what ever you choose you will have a good time it is one of my favorite short trip spots!

I agree! I have stayed here in the off season (so I have never seen the pool) if there is one. But the hotel was clean as a whistle and central to everything! But that was also 10 yrs ago.

But just an FYI StoryLand has a hotel right next door to it. I can't remember the name though sorry. It's probably pricey too?

Storyland is still there? Wow, I was there 33 years ago when I was nine.

It's been a few years since I've been to NH, but we used to love Crawford Notch and the Maple Sugar Shack (which used to be an actual little shack on the side of the road). Way back when, there wasn't much there!

:D We spent our vacation in this area last year. We went to Story Land, Santa's Village, and the Conway Scenic Railroad.

The place we stayed was called Eastern Inns. www.easterninns.com We got a really great rate (don't go by the rack rates on the site, call and ask if they have any specials during your dates). I think we paid 67.00 a night or something like that. Anyway, they have an indoor pool and jacuzzi that was very nice since it was still too cool for outside swimming when we went in early June. They also have a free continental breakfast in the mornings. We really liked the place, it was nothing fancy but certainly not run down and it is right in North Conway but off the main road a ways so you don't have any traffic noise or anything. I also like a smaller hotel and this was a nice size. It was about a 5 minute (if that) drive to Story Land. Let me know if you would like any more info. :D Hope you have a great vacation!
