Lockoffs and Waitlist

OK, I have a question....I know Lockoffs and Dedicated's both have their pros and cons, but, in your opinion, do you think a lockoff waitlist would become available before a dedicated? (2BR at the BCV in mid-late August). I realize no one has a crystal ball, but I would like to know what people think~thanks!

As far as number of rooms, they're pretty evenly matched. There are 78 dedicated two bedrooms and 74 lockoffs at BCV. Even though there are a few more dedicated rooms, I'd guess there's a slightly better chance of getting a dedicated on the waitlist. Some number of lockoffs have been booked separately as a one bedroom and a studio. Two people would have to cancel in those cases for the villa to be available to meet a two bedroom waitlist.

Hmm, great point, Dave. I currently have 2 waitlists, one with 2 beds in the 2nd BR and the other with a bed & a sleeper sofa. When I called yesterday, there were 2 nights available in a lockoff. I think I will go ahead and book those 2 nights, and hopefully the remainder of our nights will become available.

And keep calling as things change by the minute. I called to see about BLT rooms in August (was on a WL, but only could do LV). First they had one, tried to get it, lost it AND my BWV studio all in 45 seconds (the CM said there were 4 BWv studios still so we didn't think we wouldn't be able to get one if the BLT went before she secured it).

Well, she books me in what is left, SSR. Hang up, look at my ressie online and she booked me a 1 bedroom, not a studio. Call back 5 minutes later, new CM, now finds me a studio at AKV and I WL for my BWV room back and a BLT room. Hang up and check ressie again. Realize this CM forget to put on the dinning plan. Call back (now we are only 15 minutes from the first call where I lost my original room) and the CM tells me I matched my BWV WL already.

So, calling can really help to see if things other than what you WL for come through! Luckily, for me, I at least ended up back in BWV. Now, I am going to have to keep hoping my BLT WL (LV or MK view) comes through.

I will still call over the next week to see if a SV studio comes in, but after that I can't since it will be less than 31 days and the BLT SV studio is less than the BWV standard view studio I have booked. At least I can leave the other WL until 7 days since they will use more points.
