I think I read somewhere that there are lockers located near the water rides so that you can stash things you don't want to get wet -- and that the lockers were free for like the 1st hr. I did not notice these last time we were there. Whereabouts are they? Are they free? Can we take backpacks on all rides (except for roller coasters)? Seems to me I had read somewhere that back packs were not allowed on any rides. Trying to figure out if it is feasible to switch between sneakers and water shoes for various rides (don't want to wear water shoes all day in the park)

You will find lockers right near the entrance to the Jurassic Park River Adventure. They are free for the first hour, after that it costs $1 an hour.

However, they are not very large. If you want to stash a backpack, you'll probably have to use the all-day lockers in Port of Entry. They cost $5 with all-day in-and-out access.

Ummm, correction on that last post:

The lockers at Dueling Dragons (to the left of the entrance) and Hulk (under the launcher) are free for the first hour only - then $1 per hour after that.

The lockers at the Jurassic Park River Adventure (also to the left of the entrance) are $1 per hour. There is NO free period for the lockers in Jurassic Park.

The reason? Backpacks and bags are NOT allowed on Hulk or Dueling Dragons. But, you can take pretty much anything you want onto the water rides - but you risk getting it wet. In other words, where storing your articles is optional, you will have to pay for these lockers.

FYI: Expect $1/hour lockers to be installed soon in Toon Lagoon for those folks wishing to keep their items dry from Ripsaw or Blutos.

Thanks for the heads-up, CoasterFEV.

Did the JPRA lockers always cost $1/hour? I could have sworn they were free the first hour.

Nope, you weren't imagining things. When the park first opened (and for about a year) the lockers at Jurassic Park were free for the first hour. Unfortunately, these fancy electronic lockers aren't cheap - coupled with the fact that almost every other theme park in the country charges you to use their lockers (and MAKES you use them) at their coasters - I guess it was only a matter of time.

Don't worry, though. The lockers at Dragons and Hulk will continue to be free for the first hour!

If you use the $5 lockers, $2 is returned when you bring back the key.

If you are only toting around shoes and not extra clothing, towels, etc. just put the shoes you want to keep dry in a couple of plastic bags. You can keep them dry on the water rides with little effort.
