Location location location

We are going to be at Aulani last week of July. We have a 2 bedroom ocean view and the ressie does not specify lock off or dedicated. We really don't care which it is as long as we are AWAY from the kids club...LOL My kids are 17 and almost 21 (by like 2 weeks) we do not want to be where there are massive lines for activites. With that being said we will have a car (we are DVC) and we will be doing a lot of our own meals and grocery shopping. SO....where should we request to stay that is NOT close to the activites for kids but somewhat close to parking since we will be schlepping up groceries. I do plan to request the HIGHEST floor possible. Any advice is appreciated!

The kids club is in the Ewa tower, but on the ground floor so it really is out of the way of everything except ama ama. If you have reserved ocean view, I think many people prefer the Waianae tower. (Closer to self parking too) We do island view and prefer Ewa tower. In the main dvc forum the is a room view thread that is worth looking through. Each tower only has one set of elevators and they have been fairly quick for us except that 10-11am when everyone is checking out. Amazing resort, Enjoy!

I can't imagine that Aunty's Beach House (the kids' club at Aulani) will interfere at all with your enjoyment of an Ocean View villa -- no matter where your villa is located. Aunty's Beach House is at the end of the Ewa Phase 3 building, right below villas #286, #287, and #289. Ocean View villas are no lower than the 6th floor, so you'll be 5 floors above Aunty's.

Noise from Aunty's Beach House definitely won't be an issue. Once the pools, lazy river, and water slides start up in the morning (around 8:00 AM), you won't notice any noise from Aunty's!!

And don't worry about massive lines for activities. The only times you'll see lines at Aunty's is early in the morning when parents queue up to sign their kids up for certain activities. But usually the lines are gone well before 9:00 AM.

As aulanidreamer pointed out, the self parking garage is on the Waianae side of the resort, so villas in that building will be a bit closer to your car than if you are on the Ewa side.

But each side of the resort has its own advantages. The Waianae side can get morning to mid-day sun, while the Ewa side can get afternoon sun and great views of the sunset. Take a look at the maps in the Aulani Villas & Views thread to help get a feel for the layout of the resort. It may look like a huge resort, but I think you can get from almost any villa to any point at the resort in no more than 5 minutes.
