This kind of exchange has been toss around for over a year now. It's time to open it up for sign ups.

This is for items made/produced in your community. If you need to, branch out into your state. For example, there is a town not too far that has a bakery that makes fruitcakes that are shipped all over the country. Not that I'm sending anyone a fruitcake, that's just an example.

So, if this exchange is right up your alley, send me the following:

Name
DIS name
mailing address
e-mail address

Signups end August 11.

Mail by date is August 24.

Minimum cost - $15

If you have any food allergies, like say to peanuts or anything else, please add that to the information you send me. Also if you are diabetic.

If you have any questions, I'll be glad to answer them for you.

Also, go to your local craft store or attend a town festival for handmade items. Those would be considered locally made too. Or how about a local church/organization cookbook? The local newspaper or magazine?

I was wondering a couple months ago if an exchange like this would come about.

Please sign up Shayla and myself.

You know, that sounds fun! I promise not to send anyone a big silver glass globe for their lawn!

Hi Kirby

I just tried to PM you and got an message about your box being full.

Cindy

P.S. Do you have my info!!!!?????? or do I need to try again later?

Nancy and Cindy, I have you both down plus five others that have joined. :bounce:

I have your information, Cindy.

It was brought to my attention that we need to know if anyone has any food allergies, like say to peanuts. It would be helpful if that was added to the information that was sent to me. I'll add that to the top also.

My inbox should be okay now.

I sent you a PM. Can children join in as well? Also, can people sign up for more than one box to exchange?

Count me in on this one! Sounds like fun. :wave2:

I sent you a PM.

Okay, I'm going to take the plunge and sign up for my first exchange! Count me in!

PM on the way.

BTW are folks from north of the border (ie Canada) able to sign up? I know that postage to send stuff up here is going to be higher than sending things within the US.

:wave2: I do exchanges all of the time.

I don't think that you will find the postage is going to be that much more to send things here. I always look at what people spend on postage when I get my exchange parcels. I seem to have to pay a bit more to send to the US than it costs to send parcels to Canada ::yes::

The extra cost of the postage is soon forgotten when you send or receive a parcel. Then the fun of the exchanges take over :p

It is great to see where all of the exchange parcels come from!!

BUt do be careful because exchanges ARE addicting

I am still trying to figure out what I could find to send before I sign up. Hockey sticks are awfully hard to mail :teeth:

$15 dollar minimum? Was that a typo? Did you mean maximum? I am too poor to spend 20 bucks with shipping!
