Local theme park not the same after Disney!

I'm the same way with Kings Dominon(which is in my city). When I first moved here, I went there all the time but after a trip to Disney about 7 years ago, I've never set foot in the place since.(I've been to Disney about 5 times since then). Also, I'm not a big coaster fan and that's about all they have up there.

I too know how everyone feels here. After our Honeymoon to WDW in 98, we went to Cedar Point a couple of weeks later. All we did was compare CP to WDW.

I am glad to hear the reports about Busch Gardens Williamsburg. We will be going there in about 3 weeks. They had a great deal of Platinum Passports. We pay $8.48 per month for 24 months(no interest or finance charges added) to have admission to Busch Gardens Tampa, Williamsburg, Water Country, Sesame Place, Sea World Orlando- and I no there is another place just can't remember, for 2 years. So we will use it this year at Busch Gardens Williamsburg & watercountry. We will use it at Seaworld this year, and we've also now planned a budget trip for next year during spring break to go to Busch Gardens Tampa, SeaWorld for spring break (of course we'll squeeze in a disney day being so close and all;) ), and next summer we plan to visit Williamsburg, VA again. These trips we plan on exchanging our timeshare, so we will really save some $$$'s.

A few weeks after our WDW trip last summer, we went to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for the first time. I was expecting to be a bit disappointed, but I wasn't! True, it wasn't Disney, and it had some drawbacks, IMO--not very many rides the whole family (including babies/toddlers) could ride together, there were lots of very obnoxiously drunk people walking around by midafternoon, and some of the employees didn't seem to speak in anything but grunts. However, the landscaping was flawlessly gorgeous, the bathrooms were very clean, the theming of the "countries" was fun and very nicely done, the shopping was great, and the food was delicious! We mostly went on the little rides but DH rode a couple of the big ones and said they were excellent.
All in all BGW was a wonderful experience and we hope to go there again someday when our kids are a bit older and can enjoy some of the big rides.
