I just called my local Pizza Hut to order pasta for dinner (love their pasta), the call was routed to another store quite some distance away. At first I thought I missed dialed but then the guy on the phone told me the other store was closed forever! Is this another sign of the times?

Maybe they wanted more space and the new place is bigger?

All the Pizza Huts within an hour's ride from us closed years ago.... We live in New England and they are rare around here now....

Our Pizza Hut closed up last year, too. However, in the last few years our town has added a Domino's, Papa John's and Little Caesar's, so I guess they just finally had too much competition.

Oh, and they just opened a Papa Murphy's here. Though I don't see the advantage of ordering a pizza, picking it up AND then having to bake it yourself. :confused3

They're building one here. It's supposed to be finished this spring.

For one thing, you can just order a cheese pizza and top it with stuff at home. For another thing, it's generally cheaper than some of the other places (and they seem to have coupons available all the time too.) I actually like Papa Murphy's, and it's just about the only place in town I get pizza from anymore (well, the alternatives are Domino's and Papa John's, so it's not much of a competition.)

As for the Pizza Hut here in Redmond, they actually demolished it just earlier this week to make way for an expansion of the shopping center it was located in. This was planned well in advance though, so I doubt they were going down the tubes or anything like that.

I just wish that Godfather's hadn't completely disappeared from the area a couple of years ago...

Maybe it's a sign that Pizza Hut has gone down the tubes and is disgusting.

Where in MA are you? We are in Western Ma and have two within 30 minutes of us. When I lived near Boston, I used to LOVE going to the one in Natick across from the mall. I wonder if it is still there...

I love Pizza Hut!

There are 4 within 30 minutes of me...

The only thing DH and I like from there are breadsticks and TACO PIZZA!!!

My brother works for a local Pizza Hut here in Pittsburgh and told me recently their business is booming with their new menu.

Our local Pizza Hut is a dump.

Most near me are LONG gone..... and the one that is still near me is only take-out.

Back in the day when I ate pizza, PH had my favorite pizza.

But now we have pizza joints about every 100 feet, it seems like... I would guess if you took a 1 mile radius around my house, there might be 8 - 10 pizza places. And another one was being built, but they bailed out about 3 weeks ago.

Pizza Hut around here is the worst!

Wanna know where I got a really good pizza that you bake at home cheap?

The deli at Walmart! It was actually very good!

And I hate Walmart! :lmao:

No way, what?!?! I haven't been into that part of Redmond in awhile but, seriously?!?!

We miss Godfather's too, I'm not sure who was about to cry more when they closed DH or the kids. We found out there's an Izzy's in Everett and ended up driving up there for lunch a few weeks ago, the kids were so dang excited. :hyper:

They're expanding Redmond Center to add more retail in that area. The Physical Therapy clinic (former Payless Shoes) is being knocked down too, and eventually the east part of the center will be knocked down and rebuilt too, but that's not happening yet. This is all fairly recent (within the last 2-3 weeks) so I can't blame you for missing it. The Pizza Hut was already gone yesterday. I'll be blogging on it (since I occasionally cover some of the goings-on in Redmond) in the next day or two.

I know there used to be an Izzy's in Monroe (and quite a few others in Snohomish County) but the Everett one seems to be the only one listed now. There seem to be a number of restaurants that are all over the place in Snohomish County that simply disappear as soon as you go into King County for some reason. Izzy's used to be one of them, as are Buzz Inn and (to a lesser extent) Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant.

If you're looking for a Pizza Hut though, there should still be one in the Totem Lake area.

We have an Ixtapa ;) The kids like the Alfy's Pizza up in Monroe, and it's hard to beat half price pizza happy hour after swim lessons. There's an Izzy's in Kent or Auburn too I think but we never head that far south. I make my own pizza so I don't have to worry about it! :rotfl2:

I just can't believe they tore down the Pizza Hut, I apparently need to get out of the house more.

OK, so I'm getting Alfy's and Izzy's mixed up (now that you mention it, there used to be an Izzy's in Kirkland quite some time ago, but the place it used to be at is already on its second new restaurant since the Izzy's closed.) I knew my brother was getting pizza delivered to his place in Sultan from somewhere over there... :confused3
