Seems like a solid product especially when vip tours are fully booked. It’s not meant to be a good value since that would erase the benefit of not require as much pre planning. It’s supposed to be a fringe product that requires little to no planning and you get to walk on all the big rides. Simple as that.
If it’s say a single parent with one child or a couple it may make more sense than a VIP tour.

IMO this is a movement in the right direction.

The two fair ones are:

1. Can't wait to try it, I'll just divert money from something else to fund it. And...

2. It's not for me price-wise, but I get the idea and it will be great for some.

being a family that only stays at deluxe I wish they did like Universal and gave the express/lighting lane free to whoever stays at deluxe resorts.

I'm saying it should be free for deluxe resorts with all they pay.

You already stay exclusively in the deluxe resorts. Why would they include this free, when people already pay the deluxe resort prices AND are also willing to pay additional for the premium option? If deluxe bookings start to lag, then maybe there will be incentives... although more likely along the lines of LLMP or earlier reservation advantages.

Well, after reading here and the opinions people have of those who will purchase it across the interweb, if we do decide to purchase it for our MK day, I'm certainly not going to tell anyone about it.

People have said I'm ruining Disney for years now because childless adult/paying for deluxes/staying on site at all/booking dessert parties/paying for G+ and ILLs/LLMP/SP/and now more recently not caring about $8 sodas. I remember when the CL FP+ pilot debuted and people were ready to pull out guillotines. It is what it is.

I am sort of the same- I did REALLY well over the summer booking rides with LL and LL+... I got 6 or more every day and for rides everyone wanted to go on, too.

BUT...the idea of waking up whenever and going on whatever just once??? Without waking up at 6:51 when everyone else is still fast asleep? And almost being forced to rope drop versus not even setting an alarm? That's pretty appealing too.

I won't lie, I balked at the announcement this morning thinking "this is nice for the normies who can't or don't want to stress out about figuring things out but I wouldn't ever buy it, because I'm an AP and The Planner and a power user etc etc" . I'm a weirdo that enjoys the gameification aspect of these systems (probably because I am a gamer) and there's a lot of satisfaction when a plan comes together, I've always been really successful with every iteration I've tried my hand at. But I'm thinking about our truncated pre-cruise trip last month where we were running ourselves ragged with LLs, specifically the day we hopped from MK to HS. While we absolutely were able to ride everything we wanted, and it went really well, we were way more exhausted than we usually are, and we didn't get to break when we normally would because of the return times I pulled. Refreshing is whatever but man it would be nice to basically take a day off from all of that once or twice on a trip, even on our normal longer ones. And my partner doesn't even give me grief about our touring plans!

We have a 3 day trip in December and will buy this for our HS day. If we were bigger MK people we'd buy it for that day as well...but we only usually spend half a day there at most on most trips. AK and EP we don't see the value for our situation as we can get most things we want done at those parks with the current LL offering.

I personally think this is a great addition. We've always bought whatever LL iteration is available....but could never justify the cost of the VIP tours....especially on our trips with just me and my hubby. It will allow us to have VIP-lite days at a fraction of the tour cost.

...and this is where I'm at on it now. Is it something we'd do every day or even every trip? Absolutely not. But in hindsight if this offering had been available I absolutely would have bought it on that MK/HS day we had, for HS, and just hopped in after our midday break after a morning spent in MK. The "why don't you just get a plaid" talk is insane to me, even if I had the money to do that with just me and my partner I wouldn't want to. VIP tours have never appealed to me because I hate traveling in the kind of large groups that would make the price feasible for us, as an introvert I don't want to be saddled with a stranger having to make small talk and pretending not to know all the trivia they're telling me all day long, and having to go for hours and hours at a time is just not for me.

I'm also thinking about next year's trip. We have 10 days and are bringing a friend who's a first timer. We've already had discussions about the type of touring we do to avoid lines, and budgeting for LLMP/SP, just to set expectations and avoid drama on the trip. She's fully on board but I'm wondering if it wouldn't be worth it just on an HS day alone, to cut out those insanely early rope drop mornings. I don't know, I see the value in it for us even if others don't. But again we're just 2 adults, 3 at most.

Honestly, because planning and executing a Disney vacation sounds like torture to the average person, so if you have the money, you're turning that into something simple and relaxing. It's not for people who like being really good at planning a complicated trip and leading their family members through the parks while constantly booking the rest of the day. So obviously it's going to be unpopular on the disboards.

The #1 thing I hear from non-Disney people (mostly moms in my neighborhood FB groups asking for advice on planning a first trip with their kids) is how overwhelming and confusing the whole WDW planning process is. Not just Lightning Lanes but deciding what resort to stay in, how many park days are needed, which restaurants are must-dos or must-avoids, all the different transportation options, etc. My first Disney trip I spent hours poring over blog posts, park maps, and watching videos to plan my trip. I love it, but I was a childless young adult back then and could take the time to learn the system. Now as a mom of a toddler, who is also working and keeping up my own house, I definitely see the appeal in being able to pay to take some of that mental load off….even if it’s completely out of my reach unless I win the lottery.

Disney is increasing the number of resorts (Riviera, new Poly, and now the next DVC resort) without expanding gates, and in fact with the planned changes at AK and HS, the number of rides will decrease. So they are monetizing time. Spend so much a day to skip lines. We are talking hours of wait time here. The costs are out of sight to me. But some will pay it for sure. I can imagine as many have said Dec 27th this being a life saver.

I remember trying to calculate dollar value of the fast pass lanyards you could win during the MK celebration years ago - they were incredibly valuable.

Lol, I looked up "begrudes" before realizing it was a misspelling of "begrudges".

Disney makes a lot of money off DVC members (a whole lot), which is why they keep trying to sell more and more of it.

DVC owners are probably among the biggest cheerleaders of Disney, and help their friends learn the ins and outs of a Disney trip, bring loved ones on trips to stay in their accommodations, and come back year after year (or month after month).

Disney shouldn’t piss off their biggest cheerleaders by excluding them… but also, given the last point, many DVC owners don’t need to ride everything every trip because they’re going to be back. Uptake for this is probably for the benefit of the friends and family that we bring with us who don’t go very often/have never been before. How magical to be able to walk right onto any ride they want, anytime they want. Even if it’s only once per day. (Oh boy I can even sleep in! No more 7am VQ wake ups!)

I wonder how long this will be offered? 2025? DH and I would buy it, if available, for at least a few days on our trip in Jan. We are old and have trouble using our phones to book rides and are generally unable to use electronics like younger people. It puts us at a disadvantage so that we do very few rides per day. We also don't have the stamina to go to after hours parties and the ability to wait in long lines with many health issues is a problem. So, this would change a trip to WDW into a much more pleasant experience for us.

And would save on walking. The thought of going to the Magic Kingdom and starting at one end and hopping from ride to ride sounds so much nicer than traversing the park multiple times.

No idea but my guess is yes.

Also, I would imagine if you buy LLPP for MK, you can start at MK, hop to another park late morning and use LLMP there, and then go back to MK in the evening, still with the ability to use your LLPP?

DVC members have officially drunk the Kool-Aid (and yes I own DVC ). Excluding your most loyal customers is never good business.

Have only read 8 of the 14 pages of the thread so far. My apologies if I'm repeating anything anybody else has said so far.

I'm not upset about this. They're still keeping the current multipass/lightning lane/fast pass/whatever the latest term for it is, which is what most people will use.

It's probably not something that our family will hardly ever pay for or use. But yeah, I'm willing to buy multipass for each park day of our trip.

Every time there's a change like this, people get super mad at first and have this gut reaction of "THIS SUCKS! I'M NEVER GOING BACK! I'M GONNA TAKE MY BALL AND GO HOME!" And then eventually, they go on another trip to WDW. Because there's really nothing quite like a Disney trip.

I would be willing to pay for this at ONE park (like MK) for probably ONE day of, for example, a girls-only trip with my sister (who's not a Disney person). So we could hit up all of the LL rides in the morning and do something else the rest of the day. And then the other days of the trip, I'd just buy regular multipass instead.
