I think this is everyone’s concern. I was there the week before (and Monday after) Thanksgiving when it was pretty crowded and with one or two outlier exceptions, LLs worked far better than they did the entire year prior to DAS reform (including slower periods), so I’m betting Disney thinks they can get away with upping LLPP capacity a bit more (they also may just sell fewer LLMP?)— and they are probably right if they are only increasing another 10-20%— there will be occasional unpleasant “bulges” in the lines (after fireworks, after parades, and especially after lengthy downtimes for particular attractions), but probably lines will continue to be good most of the day. What I worry about is that they oversell to maximize revenue, and the lightning lanes become less valuable.
The upside of the new LLPP product using the same LLs is that (hopefully) charging several hundred per person for LLPP access will increase pressure on Disney to deliver consistently short waits for all LLs the vast majority of the time.
