LL Premier Pass is here!

What I worry about is that they oversell to maximize revenue, and the lightning lanes become less valuable.
I think this is everyone’s concern. I was there the week before (and Monday after) Thanksgiving when it was pretty crowded and with one or two outlier exceptions, LLs worked far better than they did the entire year prior to DAS reform (including slower periods), so I’m betting Disney thinks they can get away with upping LLPP capacity a bit more (they also may just sell fewer LLMP?)— and they are probably right if they are only increasing another 10-20%— there will be occasional unpleasant “bulges” in the lines (after fireworks, after parades, and especially after lengthy downtimes for particular attractions), but probably lines will continue to be good most of the day.

The upside of the new LLPP product using the same LLs is that (hopefully) charging several hundred per person for LLPP access will increase pressure on Disney to deliver consistently short waits for all LLs the vast majority of the time.

Good guess but since the initial hours were released for MK on Sunday, December 22 did change from 9 PM to 10 PM. Not enough of a change to add LLPP capacity based on 1 additional hour.

Dave
How do we know adding an hour would not add additional LLPP capacity? Seems to make the most sense as to why more were added or, they've decided to maximize profit and just sell more. That might be the case too.

I don't think we'll never really know why it went from full to available.

For those wishing to purchase, just happy opportunities opened to those who thought they'd missed out.

Your correct we don't know for a fact but simple logic and math indicates you can't add additional LLPP capacity based on a single extra hour due to the number of Lightning Lane attractions per LLPP purchase.

However adding 1 hour could increase capacity for LLMP and/or LLSP.

I believe 11/25 (monday) and 11/28 (thanksgiving) @ MK sold out 8 days prior to those dates. If MK doesn't sell out today for 12/25, I am guessing increased LLPP allotment.

We will never know for sure but I'm guessing you're correct. We're now 8 days before 12/25 and all dates are still showing LLPP availability.

Well, I certainly hope if that’s the case, it’s due to multipass sales being down as someone mentioned earlier. I think that makes sense because we normally buy multipass but are doing some premier pass days this trip instead of multipass when we want more than 3 rides in a day. We were there the weekend before Thanksgiving, and there was literally nothing left after our first 3 at MK unless we wanted to come back at night! Granted, we are not early morning people.

Yes, we are not doing VIP your this year because of LLPP… just as a mention of how LLPP changes demand for different items (like in prior years, this time of year, we would have a day of VIP tour plus Genie Plus)

staying onsite… and can buy on Dec 22nd…

How far in advance can LLPPs be purchased? We were planning a VIP tour, but are considering this instead.

As a guest with an on-site reservation you are able to purchase 7 days in advance of your stay for up to 14 days.

Dave

I actually just got a survey about this, asking if we'd prefer farther out - choices were 7 days, 30 days and 60 days.

My only concern with a longer lead time is that you pay immediately, and there are no refunds and LLPP are not transferable. You are only able to reschedule the Day / Park selection.

Dave

That's true. But it's also a chance we take with parties, etc. I'd be comfortable with 30 days, but it's also only two of us so not as much money as others would spend if we lost it.

And depending on reason for cancelling, Disney may work with you. They did with us on an annual pass once.

Yes, what I should have done, if I had it to do over, is book the VIP tour at 60 days, and then, if I got all my LLPPs, cancel the VIP tour. I think I’d prefer that to paying for the LLPPs far in advance.
I suspect this is why they may want to move LLPPs out to the 30 day mark (at least)… wouldn’t surprise me if they are starting to see people drop VIP tours 7-14 days out and having trouble rebooking them last minute?
